Why would they release a MBP update so close to WWDC?
Because with iPhone and Leopard, they are going to have enough ground to cover. The Santa Rosa upgrade is not that big a deal.

My MBP was ordered on May 8th. I received a notice that it would ship May 11-15, today I received yet another note:
Due to an unexpected delay, we are unable to ship the following
item(s) by the date that you were originally quoted:
Z0DP, MBPRO 15/2.16 CTO
will now ship on or before May 25, 2007
Now I'm thinking that maybe we will see new MBP's next week.
It wouldn't surprise me to see them next week. I don't know how soon I'll be able to get one though :/

Post a screenshot of this message please. The language used does not sound like the type used by Apple, but post the screenshot and clear it up.
Cool - think they are probably guessing that they will be updated soon although they may be asked to a product launch meeting.
I'm more interested in the offer they are doing - free 2 year guarantee. Not bad - has that offer been on for a while ?
Hey eveyone , I've just read that , the new Mac book pro will be released next week on tuesday , just like the MB..
What do you think about that?
Does anyone has information about such things...
I'm in the market for a Macbookpro and think its likely to arrive before WWDC. But if Apple release it before WWDC i'm likely to think; what could be released at WWDC, itablet ?
David
I Saw that on a french site

They say that students offers are deactivated for both MB and MBP , so it's a signal that they are expecting MBP changes
Certainly as far back as 98 or 99 when I bought a iMac.John Lewis has offered this warranty for as long as I can remember.
I've asked an Apple reseller if there are coming any new macbooks/mbp's ,and he said he hadn't heard something from Apple....
I don't want to be negative.
But he can be wrong, he said there weren't going to be any upgrades, the day after the macbook got an upgrade....![]()
I'm hoping on a huge performance boost!
aww man MB's this week... maybe MBP's next week, I don't think I can take all this... BRAIN ANEURYSM!(Tenacious D reference) Maybe it's a good thing after all that I didn't pull the trigger on a macbook this week if the pro upgrade will be worth it (assuming there is one) Though Santa Rosa IMO will be a worthy upgrade, it'll have to come with some other worthy updates (8+x superdrive, LED Screen, etc) to really sway me from a sweet new macbook! At that price point, it's hard to beat for a college student's budget. As a music major, it'll be nice to have the pro for recording purposes, but come on apple, make me WANT to pay the extra $1000 for it! A little more separation from the consumer model iGuess...
my local computer store has put macbook pros on clearance, saying theyre getting a version 'with a new chipset' next week.
