My MBP was ordered on May 8th. I received a notice that it would ship May 11-15, today I received yet another note:

Due to an unexpected delay, we are unable to ship the following
item(s) by the date that you were originally quoted:

Z0DP, MBPRO 15/2.16 CTO
will now ship on or before May 25, 2007

Now I'm thinking that maybe we will see new MBP's next week.

If anyone can corroborate this, I would be overjoyed.

It wouldn't surprise me to see them next week. I don't know how soon I'll be able to get one though :/

Oh yes, this is just brilliant! Unexpected delay, however, may just be that :D, but I really hope that 'unexpected delay' = 'entirely preplanned release date' for new macbook pros :D.

15.4" MBP Clearance in local store (UK)

Don't know how much relevance there is in this, but one of my local shops that sell :apple: 's was showing the 15.4" MBP as a clearance item:eek:

Although their website does not state this, it is currently out of stock on the 17" version. No comments were passed on by the sales staff when I asked about this:rolleyes:

They also seem to be showing the old spec MB on the website with some out of stock.

See Link!

Don't know if anyone else in the UK can confirm this in their Local John Lewis.

Cheers,

S

Cool - think they are probably guessing that they will be updated soon although they may be asked to a product launch meeting.

I'm more interested in the offer they are doing - free 2 year guarantee. Not bad - has that offer been on for a while ?

John Lewis has offered this warranty for as long as I can remember.

MBP next Week? tuesday?

Hey eveyone , I've just read that , the new Mac book pro will be released next week on tuesday , just like the MB..

What do you think about that?

Does anyone has information about such things...

here we go again.

I'm in the market for a Macbookpro and think its likely to arrive before WWDC. But if Apple release it before WWDC i'm likely to think; what could be released at WWDC, itablet ?

David

Got to love this. Working up a frenzy again......

"oh god, Apple need to update the mac book, ah, but if they have done that they must update the mbp, but wait....what if a tablet is coming along just behind, and if there is a tablet, maybe they will release a iPhone that docks to make it a phone tablet, but then they might release a....."

my local computer store has put macbook pros on clearance, saying theyre getting a version 'with a new chipset' next week.

I beleive that we will see a new MPB next tuesday. Hopefully it will be more than a speed bump with the good ol x1600. I would be incredibly upset.

I've asked an Apple reseller if there are coming any new macbooks/mbp's ,and he said he hadn't heard something from Apple....
I don't want to be negative.

But he can be wrong, he said there weren't going to be any upgrades, the day after the macbook got an upgrade....

I'm hoping on a huge performance boost!

They don't tell the resellers. If they did then we wouldn't have to worry about this rumor site because the truth would always leak out.

Also, its possible he's aware he can't order more MBPs, does believe an update is coming and he was just trying to get you to buy one of his current mpbs so he could get rid of them.

aww man MB's this week... maybe MBP's next week, I don't think I can take all this... BRAIN ANEURYSM! (Tenacious D reference) Maybe it's a good thing after all that I didn't pull the trigger on a macbook this week if the pro upgrade will be worth it (assuming there is one) Though Santa Rosa IMO will be a worthy upgrade, it'll have to come with some other worthy updates (8+x superdrive, LED Screen, etc) to really sway me from a sweet new macbook! At that price point, it's hard to beat for a college student's budget. As a music major, it'll be nice to have the pro for recording purposes, but come on apple, make me WANT to pay the extra $1000 for it! A little more separation from the consumer model iGuess...

It'll probably be more like $600 more, not $1000 for us. And *hopefully* it'll have a Geforce 8600GT, 2.2GHz/800MHz Core 2 (on the low end model), and of course a larger screen. If it's got that and you want the screen real estate and/or the massively better GPU, it'll be worth it.

If we're really, really lucky they'll even drop the MBP price a bit, though I'm not holding my breath for that one.

More rumors of next Tuesday:

http://silveradosys.blogspot.com/2007/05/want-macbook-pro-id-wait-until-tuesday.html

If next Tuesday, I hope then aren't just going to be MB style speed bumps. No new GPU, no Santa Rosa, no LED bl 2k screen (17in MBP)...it's possible.

But an LED MBP, upgraded GPU, optional flash drive;and/or Flash hybrid HD for faster booting, 15.4? or 17in...could be that 'one last thing' for WWDC. Optional 200Gb 7.2k Hitachi or 250Gb 5.4k Hitachi...Apple clearly should wait until it can deliver all of these upgrades at once, even it if takes another month or two.
