Scotland and N Ireland Delays...

Nervous Ayr man

I live in Ayr and got the dreaded delay email on the 9th, so am i now right in saying i should now be expecting it on the 16th? Still at order processing at the moment and a delivery date of the 16th, despite the email about the delay. Interestingly they are no longer appearing as pending on my Debit card, so there not even close to lifting my money any more. This is pretty shocking, i dont really know whats going on!
 
The chap who was called me was phoning from Cork. He said he was phoning on behalf of Apple!! He also said he had so many calls still left to make he didn't know if he would get through them all before Friday actually came!!

It has nothing to do with emails already sent as i never sent any!! It was be the details they hold on file for each of us as customers of Apple.

The really strange thing is after i had seen a few folk on here saying that they had received a 'call' i thought it would be prudent to contact Apple myself!!

I was speaking to Apple on the landline at the time i got a call on my mobile from a 'blocked' number. The chap that i had contacted said no delivery has been delayed and there is nothing they can do about it!! While at the same time i had this lovely man from Cork telling forget what this other guy was saying and he assured me that my new iPad will most definitely be here on Friday and be delivered by TNT or UPS!!!!:D:D:D:D

I missed two BLOCKED calls on my mobile at 12, and am just home and checked my landline and had a blocked call at 12 too, soo am hoping mines coming on Friday too..


Who stated emailing n kicking off never does anything...
 
had a voicemail left from apple saying ipad due to arrive on friday

im from armagh btw and hadnt contacted them to complain
 
Seems like all delayed iPads will be with us Friday

Can't see them sending some delayed ones out and no all, as that would just kick things off more...
 
Update:

Just had a call from a lady at Apple due to my email to Tim Cook, she past on a sorry from him and also said sorry for the mix up.

She stated due to the large number of emails they and he received they have done everything they can to get delayed iPads to us on the 16th like they promised when ordering and that mine will be here Friday.. (so I think everyone will be getting there's too)...


Job done :). Nice work mr cook and apple and Jesus they do listen if enuff moan
 
Hurrah!

Received a phone call (blocked number) from Apple stating that they will have my iPads with me on Friday after all! Good news indeed, great to see Apple are working to try to make up for the disappointment many people have had as a result of being told their orders would be delayed.

I hope everyone else in this situation gets a call, would be a good way to end the afternoon.
 
Absolutely brilliant news. Also got the voice mail from the guy from Cork (I could tell by the accent).
I have to say hats off to all those that sent email complaints. I wasn't one of them and feel slightly guilty - I was happy enough to queue up!

He did mention (on the voicemail) that if you can't be in for the delivery on friday they will try again on Monday (it's a bank holiday here in N.I.)
 
Just had a call from a lady at Apple too who assured me delivery should now be Friday. I had emailed along with others but who knows if this had the desired effect or if it would have happened anyway.
 
Still no call here yet :( Whats everyone's status saying since they had there call? still sitting at processing or preparing for shipment?
 
They must be feeling the pressure now
A lot of unhappy may be getting cheered up and apple like happy customers
 
Who's glad that they didn't cancel their pre order when they got the dreaded email??

I know i was going to cancel but then just decided to hold fire!! Thank god i did!! :D

I was so close to cancelling last night. I emailed my boss to get some time off on Friday and all. Was just waiting on her getting back to me.

Thank god Apple got it together today. Phew.

I wasn't planning to cancel my order even if I was going to queue up on launch day simply to make sure one DID arrive should the store run out of stock, plus if I was able to get one in store, Apple would be lumbered with the cost and inconvenience of the return. Glad I don't have to do that now!
 
Now wee just wait for ours to change from processing too shipping / shipped

Yes, I just noticed this. Though the woman on the phone said that there wont be any deliveries over the weekend and any one who is not in on friday to receive their order will receive it on the 19th. So I assume this relates to this. :)

Nope mine still says Delivers 16 March. But I wouldn't panic- trust the phone call from Apple more than their online system. Tracking won't be available until tomorrow night so I'm not checking again until then.

Although one thing- did you also order an Apple TV? A lot of people over in the other UK thread complaining of having the 16 - 19 March date when they also ordered Apple TV with their iPad.

The cardinal rule for pre-ordering ANYTHING from Apple is NEVER to add anything extra onto the order because it will always slow it down. It shouldn't, but it always does.
