Would it have anything to do with the bank holidays in Northern ireland this weekend due to St. Patrick's Day? Just a thought.

What is the situation with courier delivery on bank holidays?

Also, not sure about Saturday deliveries. It's all very confusing.

Even if they got our iPads to the UK by Wednesday, would a Saturday or bank holiday Monday delivery be out of the question in Northern Ireland?

I feel that because of the delay Saturday delivery should most certainly be used even if it is Paddys day it's Apples fault for not honouring their agreements :/

but its not all apples fault sadly to say,
they could setup their own devilry no worry lol

but if you go back a page and look at the email i got from apple
it said about their systems couldn't take the pressure and it was giving out the same delivery date to all
so that means there was no hope us getting the iPad on time at any stage
sadly, then the couriers can't handle the amount of traffic too

I agree. Saturday delivery is possible if you pay extra. So Apple should definitely pay it for us if our iPads are in the UK and available for delivery on Saturday.

but if the pads are in the country they should move them up to scotland and n.i, then once they are there they can be split up to the van men that are now only doing there normal job, so they are going to be rushed on tuesday and Wednesday

Yes I suppose, valid point. But in all honesty Apple the enormous company that they are surely would have been aware of the so called 'extended' delivery times to parts of the UK and should have notified us when perchaseing our iPad's about the delay that's just common sense! Let alone courtesy! We'll just have to wait unfortunatly. Next time we should all just line up in Victoria Square lol

I just don't buy that.

OK, if they were delayed by a day, but people are getting pushed back from Friday to Wednesday. And the problem was identified a week in advance? It just doesn't add up for me.

Also, I think someone mentioned here earlier that they were told by Apple that these particular items weren't in the country yet.

Maybe I'm missing something, but my suspicion is that Apple aren't being totally straight with you.

hmm queue up na lol
it would be good if apple did it differently, done it right so all there customers could have it on launch day, but you are talking about millions of pads going out, so out the whole world we are going to be one of the last to get it really

least we are not waiting for the second batch the start of april no thanks lol

i thought i read somewhere they were here and all? no might be wrong

then if they are going from china they are going to need a week
so wednesday to wednesday, so thats the 21st, my email said the 20th

I contacted timcook@apple over the weekend and they called me today but unfortunatly I wasn't in so iv arranged to speak with them at 3.30 tomorrow. I'm going to try and arrange for instore or depot pick up for when ever I can :) Really its the very least they should do for us. Anyone know of they will offer this?

Yes. What I was asked the woman was "where exactly is my iPad right now?" and she said "we cannot confirm that. But as soon as youR iPad reaches the distributions centres in the UK you will receive an email from us to let you know."

That tells me the iPads aren't in the UK yet.

I think it's relatively safe to say based on the many phone conversations referencing Wefnesday i.e. tomorrow that they are hoping for a delivery tomorrow to the UK. And all deliverys are going to be based on when and if that delivery arrives! Here's to it arriving early! Lol

I also emailed Mr Cook last night and got a phone call back from a nice apple

lady this morning at 0930.

She listened to my rant about placing my order AND recieving a confirmation

email several hours ( up to 10hours) before others had even placed their order

and now they take delivery of their iPad on Friday and i don't :(

I told her my theory about being discriminated because of where i lived and

how i thought that we had not be treated fairly. She didn't disagree but simply

said sorry and admitted that they got it wrong. I said that if i queued for

several hours on friday morning outside an apple store only for it to open and

someone at the back jumps in and gets an iPad before me would that be right?

Well that's exactly what they are doing online!!! She said that she would try and

look in to speeding the order up but was not very hopefully and the 21st would

be the latest i would get it. She also said that they would be investigating the

whole issue as i was not the only one :p
