Also....

I will post any reply I get here.... Everyone else should do the same too that have delays, the more that moan the more we MIGHT get action.

Keep chilled, put the facts across and lets see what replys we get :)

Was in the Apple Store in Belfast today, they said they'd have them on the 16th, weren't sure of opening times yet as it hasn't been released and they said just to cancel the pre-order and queue lol! Which might be what i have to do to get it next Friday.

Yep- this is what I'm doing (Belfast). Might not cancel my pre-order- just return it after it arrives. Don't fancy queueing too long this year- hoping they will be onsale at 8am or 9am and not 5pm like last year. Stock is usually not a problem if you get down to the store at some point on launch day.

Very disappointed :-( I preordered both an iPad 64GB Wifi Edition & Apple TV at 11:30pm on the 7th March (This was the earliest I could get into the store without the WE'RE SORRY message) only to receive an email saying it'll be the 20th March.

Though something strange happened yesterday when I checked the order status, my iPad icon had changed to a brown box that had been taped up as if for dispatch but the Apple TV icon was as it should have been. When I checked again today the brown box has been replaced with an iPad image again?

The changing image between a box and an iPad seems to be happening with lots of people as reported on the other UK threads- sorry means nothing.

Looks like yours was ready to ship to you, and then they decided that someone in England, who ordered it a few hours ago, was more deserving, so they unpacked it, and sent it to them...

I have really no idea what Apple have done with the fiasco of UK iPad 3 orders, and how they can justify what they have done!

As I understand it, the box appears if your browser hasn't downloaded the correct picture within a certain time. It means nothing in relation to the progress of your order.

After preordering on Wednesday I've been told I'm off work this Friday as my day off. Typical !!! If I goto Belfast and purchase my iPad & Apple TV on Friday do you think there will be time to cancel my preorder and will it have despatched by then? I wouldn't want to cancel the order until I had the actual hardware in my hands :)

Your story is 100% the same as mine - also unexpectedly will be off on Friday and I'm buying an Apple TV as well (I hadn't pre-ordered one).
At a guess by Friday our pre-orders will be shipped so we can't cancel them at that stage. I will be returning mine once I receive it on the 20th for a full refund - will have to pay the return shipping cost but should just be a few quid.

Central Glasgow, got a text saying "Shipment Wxxxxx has been dispatched.Expect delivery on or before 16-03-2012."

No delays here, thankfully. I'm in Glasgow, Scotland and ordered as soon as the store came up about 12:30am. Received shipment notification today. Should be here on or before 16th.

Ah, the difference 30 miles makes...I live 30 miles South of you, and still processing for a delivery on the 21st (delayed from the 16th)...Oh, and ordered at 1am on the 8th

Same here. Perthshire, and got email saying 21st. Seems to be unless you are bang in the middle of the Scottish cities you are getting delayed. People who ordered hours after me are getting delivered on the 16th.

As I posted in the other thread, I got my order in at 23:50 on Wednesday night, but my iPad won't be crossing the Irish Sea until the 20th.

I received my shipping email from Apple this morning, ordered via the iPhone apple store app on thursday (8th) morning about 9:30 a 16GB wifi in White. Shipping email says March 16, location East Kilbride, Glasgow.:):apple:

Is the return process easy enough? I take it I'll have to open the box to get a returns slip or how do I do it?

I take it you didn't get any sort of delay e-mail?

It's nice to know that Apple are looking after their customers fairly...NOT!

Whilst most of us poor, sleep deprived nuts are up until (at least) 2am, making sure we get our orders in early, you get a nice night's sleep, get up at a very respectable hour, nonchalantly place your order 9 hours after most of us, and still Apple decide to post your to you 5 days before most of us..

Thanks Apple :(

If the Apple ordering system was a lager, it most definitely wouldn't be Carlsberg!!

Oh, by the way, this was a moan at Apple, not you Raymond...Well done on your order victory :)

Ordered before 12pm on Wednesday and got email confirmation just after

midnight and then got the dreaded delay email. Not sure why apple have

chosen certain location but don't think its a coincedence that Scotland and NI

having issues and not the Home Counties

Has everyone with delays emailed apple? We won't get a reply until Monday/Tuesday but will be funny too see what they state too each off us...

All they need to do is ship the delayed ones a day early and boom we would get them on the 16th.... Think there scared we might get them in the 15th so won't, madness.... they would rather us have um late than early..

Am sure if apple had a shipment coming n and it was gonna be 4 days late they would want answers...

I have spoken to an Apple supervisor, e-mailed Apple support and raised a complaint, and been given a case ID.

I don't think there is anything more I can do...I await any sort of response from them. I very much doubt it will do any good though.
