Well, after many heated discussions today with Apple CS, Apple Supervisors, and well rude Executive Relations team, I have finally agreed to accept free Applecare for both of my iPads as compensation for the delivery delay, from the 16th to the 21st.

It became apparant quite early on in my conversations, that even people at very high levels within Apple were unable to do anything with regards to getting my 2 iPad 3's to me before the current commit date (as they put it) of March 21st.

Apparantly, this has ben escalated to quite a high level within Apple, but getting Applecare added free of charge to both iPads is just about the minimum I would accept as a goodwill compensation gesture from them.

I have not been at all impressed with Apple's customer service relations though. It has ranged from apathy to downright rudeness, and I even told him that he was a very rude person, and hung up on him...I don't care how "high up" the Apple food chain he is.

Good luck to everyone else in their quest...

That's where it got quite heated.

Initially, it was an Apple Supervisor (who I believe had to check with her supervisor), and then I had her e-mail me confirmation of my offer of free Applecare on both of my orders a s goodwill gesture.

Then, this rude German got involved. I believe he is now part of the team that has been set up to look into this whole delay fiasco, as he telephoned me and had the audacity to tell me I cannot contact the supervisor (I was dealing with) anymore, and that any communications must go through him. That riled me straight away...telling me who I can and cannot speak to.

Anyway, I asked him if he was going to apply my Applecare upgrade for me that wa offered by the supervisor, and he then told me that he couldn't authorise this. So, that's where it got heated, and I asked if it was Apple policy to renege on agreed deals that I had in black and white (so glad i got the supervisor to e-mail to confirmation to me :)).

He basically, refused to answer anything I asked him at that point. Every time I asked him something, he just sat there silent. I kept asking if he was still there, and he replied, yes. So I asked him another question, and again silence. This went on for a good 2-3 minutes, at which point I told him he was a very rude person, and hung up.

20 minutes later, the telephone went, and it was this German guy. I told him I didn't wish to speak to him, but he got in quick and said he had some good news for me. That was the only thing that stopped me from hanging up. He said he would now agree to honour the offer arranged earlier with the Apple supervisor. I asked him to e-mail this to me, but he said, that I could take his word. I told him that I didn't trust his word, as Apple had already reneged on my earlier agreed offer, so he reluctantly agreed to e-mail confirmation of this, which I have just received by e-mail.

Shocking way to run a company...

I received a phone call from a member of the Online Store Executive Relations team.

The girl was very nice, but again, cannot seem to help at all.

She stated that she is personally monitoring my order and is doing everything to get my iPad to me as quickly as possible. However, I highly doubt anything is being done.

Looks like we're all screwed.

Aye i think that's who has left a message for me, because of the email to tcook@apple.com

No reply as yet.... Sent my Emails of over the weekend (No Nudes attached lol, that was a wee joke)....

They state you'll get a email back within 1 working day, so I expect a reply tomorrow...

I sent my email off on sat eve, and got that call today, gutted I wasn't in to answer it, there was a short message left which seemed to have been cut off so she didn't get to finish what she was saying.

Yeah I hope I get something tomorrow too, so I can ask someone what's going on!

Why are you emailing the CEO about late delivery? That's embarrassing.

Not sure if it is really "late delivery" that is the complaint. More that a large percentage of customers in Scotland and Northern Ireland made the effort to purchase early using Apple's pre-order scheme and it doesn't seem to have worked properly.

Aye that was my initial thought but when you consider someone like me (who ordered a good 13 hours after the bloke in question) is getting my iPad on the 16th and he aint getting his til the 21st because (presumably) his post code (and hes probably not that far from east kilbride where mines is being delivered) - you'd be pretty annoyed too.

Yeah I was one of the first to pre-order like many of you when the store first came back online, many people ordered after us and are going to get their iPads much sooner than us, for some unknown reason. It does not take 4 extra days to get anything to n.Ireland from England. There is no reason we couldn't have got the deliveries here on the 16th, the Apple Store is able to get them in Belfast, so why can't we?

If you want a problem sorted the best bet is to email that address. I'm fairly sure Tim Cook only reads things on there that are flagged to him by whosever job it is to read that email address. I see no reason why if disappointed by the service they have received people shouldn't complain to the point of contact most likely to provide them with a good response.

I'm only a few miles away from East Kilbride and mine is delayed. Not really sure how they have worked out these delay's!

Totally agree. Leave the CEO alone to run Apple and make the amazing products that we all love.

Actually, I sent emails to the generic "contact us" ermail address but the only email that I got a reply to was the one I sent to Tim Cook.

Of course he doesn't get our emails. But at least they are getting read that way.

And to the person saying it is "embarrassing" to email him. I wonder how you would feel if you ipad, that you ordered before many of the people on here, got delayed 4/5 without reason.

U email who u can to try get answers...

I think if they tell us the truth most of us would be happy....

P.s got a call at 9am from a withheld number, I was n the shower, could have been apple....

Just off the phone with the woman who is dealing with my enquiry.

Before you get excited, there's nothing they can do. We basically just wait.

But she said that because we are a bit further out our delivery will be later. She said it was their mistake and this should have stated when we preordered. She said once our iPad's are in the UK distribution centres we will receive the "preparing for shipment" status then the "shipment" email once they have left the distribution centre.

Basically our iPads aren't even in the UK yet. So absolutely no hope for Friday.
