im just as suprised as the rest of you.... but again i swear this was from a cc and nothing else... while installing the skin the computer was on a towel so i know its not from that...

lol at thinking aluminum is the best material to make a laptop out of not to scratch

its character. who cares abotu some scratches. you guys sound like a bunch of women...and if you are women...its cool, you can bitch. my wife does all the time

Then why don't you put some new character on your switched Macbook then? :)

Just curious, why are the scratches only in that small section and not all over the entire top of the case? Why are they in a very staggered pattern and not smooth straight lines? I have applied window tint on hundreds of cars and house windows and BSE on several products. Window tint is the exact same process as skins. When I squeegee the liquid out, I use a straight path and work the liquid out to the edges and not random lines rubbing any direction. Yes, I have scratched window tint (specific type of dyed film or mirrored film), but again, the lines are very straight or a very small curve and not a random pattern.

Did you just rub back and forth really fast in your attempt to remove the liquid? Did you rub the credit card on the entire lid? I am not calling your integrity into question, but just curious of the details since this might be why others are.

Also, BSE can hide existing scratches depending on how deep they are. You might just want to apply again, but make sure you use straight strokes with light pressure, use a small rubber/plastic squeegee (can buy at a local hardware store) little larger than credit card and used by body shops to apply Bondo, use enough liquid to slide the position and work from the center out. Also, make sure you spray some liquid on top of the skin and the squeegee to make it glide smoothly. If it grabs, you will stretch the skin. Just spray and then wipe excess off with a paper towel once you get that section bonded.......or get someone else to do it for you.

I know this might be stupid, but it just doesn't make any sense that there would be such deep scratches in that, since there was nothing abrasive that touched it.
have you tried just wiping it off with a damp rag or paper towel? I know when my MB first came it had some 'scratches' on it our of the box, and I was really ticked but then it turned out they just looked bad and went off with some water...
I'm sure you thought of doing that already...

Well, since your macbook looks like crap now, is there any way you could post a video on Youtube of you using your credit card on the top case again?

Not that I don't believe you or anything... ;)

First off, how did your credit card come in direct contact with the aluminum. You are supposed to use your card to push out the air bubbles under the film... So you BSE would have been in between the card and your MacBook. Secondly, plastic cannot scratch aluminum. It's just not possible

A jeweler may be able to buff those scratches out. Or, an artisan who works with metal.

I just took a credit card to the bottom of my macbook and i CAN NOT reproduce these scratches!

That's not reproducing. In OP's case, you need the BSE in between the credit card and the MB Al surface to create the scratches. You're probably thinking "what the...?!". That's right, that's exactly what's on everyone else's mind"

The OP is full of ****. Thats it. I HIGHLY doubt a plastic, flexible, credit card could not only scratch aluminum, but also in this random and quite odd pattern.
Do you have the Wolverine special edition MasterCard?

so your thinking the BSE had a role in causing those scratches??
(im not doubting you, just asking)

I could see that "pattern" happening if he was trying to get out a air bubble or something. That would be the reason he was concentrating on that one area.

If you look at the scratches, there isnt really a uniform distance between lines, as if the credit card had dents or uneven edges that would cause it to scratch the aluminum. It looks more like someone took a razor and just scratched around randomly.

exactly! i find it hard to believe that PLASTIC is going to scratch ALUMINUM!?

I would of thought the amount of pressure required to make those scratches would of torn the skin as well?

Anyway I dont see any reason as to why he'd make it up. Thats a real b*tch though... I'd be p*ssed!

i guess i could say the flash made it worse then it is, but heres some more pics

once again, i personally could care who believes that this was from a credit card or not... i have nothing to gain from this, so im sticking with my story that it was a credit card... sorry to disappoint all of you who think otherwise. it could just be i possibly got a weak piece of aluminum? not sure what else to make of it but anyhow theres some more pics

This is so unbelievable that, I bet, if you can video tape how you can scratch it and send it to BSE, they'll pay to buy you a new MB.
