My pont. Yes wait for the 12 and honestly SE is not worth the money

What is your agenda?! You’ve replied on numerous topics criticising the screen size - people really don’t care that it’s got bezels, and Touch ID, many actually prefer it for those very reasons.

The SE is worth the money, it’s a great phone with a great camera, great build quality etc... you can’t say the SE is not worth $399 but basically imply that an iPhone 12 is worth $900+ when the OP probably doesn’t need a larger screen and more than one camera lens. In the wrong buying scenario that phone certainly isn’t worth the money!

That's good news - it's gonna feel like Christmas today! Would love to hear your comparison thoughts especially as your coming from the 6 Plus.

I’m in love with the 11. I have a purple one in a clear case. Face ID is great, I’m finding the gestures intuitive and easy to follow. I don’t find the screen too narrow at all. In fact it’s seems a perfectly logical switch from my 6S Plus. I’ve set up hubby’s SE today as well as my 11 and the difference for me is really noticeable. I’ll probably set up my SE tomorrow and see how I feel but right now the 11 wins hands down. Yes I could wait until September for a 12 but I have a really good screen in the 11 and I’m happy with LCD.

Just got the SE a couple of hours ago - and went from an 11 (std.):

- Handy size
- Quick
- Display feels a bit dimmer (?) though I know it isn't specwise.
- It will take some getting used to going back to the home button and no tap-to-wake. Feels a bit awkward from the get-go.
- Camera seems to be good to the point that they look the same as the ones from the 11s main shooter.

That would be my exact switch if I went SE, so I am really curious what you're thinking after a bit. I hope you'll update more.

Would you post pics of them side by side? I need a visual. ;-p

Probably won't remember.

But do not be fooled: If you can wield the size the 11 is the better phone. It feels a bit weird reaching for the home button a lot so far as stated and the screen feels small now after 8 months of 11 usage.

The SE is great for a smaller phone, but it should`ve had full screen and gestures+ faceid - it is a superior combo.

Hopefully the 5.4 iPhone 12 will be the sweet spot for the SE sized device...

Does this help? Or do you need the 6S Plus and the 11 side by side?

I’m in love with the 11.
If you love the 11 just stay with it. Omit the 12 and live long with 11. It is a great phone, but unfortunately to me, the size was noc as nice as I wanted it to be.

just wanted to see a "real life" comparison
I have got the 11 and I am returning it. The 'real life' comparison is when you take the phone to your hand. The 11 is more rounded, more bulky. It make you feel like you are holding much bigger phone. The 11 Pro is much smaller in hand, but in size comparison it is only a bit smaller. But feeling of the Pro and non Pro are very different. I would love the 11 feel similar to the Pro one or Pro to be much cheaper.

when the OP probably doesn’t need a larger screen and more than one camera lens
You are right, I am fine with one good camera (but additional ultra wide is handy in some situations, no need of telephoto). I just want a phone that I can comfortably use with one hand. A few days with the 11 show me, that the size of it was not as scary as I imagined, but it was so rounded, I was so unsure of holding it, it is definitely not a phone I wanted. 11 Pro of course is much better with feeling, but the price is something I would not like to pay.

I’m 90% sure I will, just need to take it out and play with the camera, hopefully over the weekend. It’s unlikely my white SE will even be unboxed, after spending all day updating apps and passwords on both phones it’s obvious I need a larger screen. The 11 isn’t that much different to the 6S plus.

I was wondering how the white color was, whether it was true white, or the creamy white like the XR.

Thanks to all of you! While playing with my friends Galaxy S10e I have decided to try the 11. Maybe the phone will not be so huge and I could use it comfortably. When the small 12 launch, I will not mind waiting to see if there is any issue and switch to it. Or maybe I will like the size of 11 and use it as long as it will be alive or has iOS updates.

You will likely get used to the size. I was worried about this too when I upgraded to an 11 from a 7 bit got used to it pretty quickly. It’s not an easily one-handed phone, but I’ve grown to really like the larger screen and would miss it if I went back to a 4.7” phone.

I think it depends on battery life for this one. Both will be an improvement

But with the 11 you'll get much better battery, the SE2 will be solid but if you want guaranteed "all day battery", I would consider the 11

Here is more having gone 11 > SE.

Still like the size and phone, but miss:

- Tap to wake
- Swiping gestures
- Screen real-estate
- Loooong battery life
- Screen on my wife's 11 feels brighter though it is spec'ed at the same nit-level.

Thoughts now are to consider just keeping the 11, but the SE is a very good phone nonetheless.

What swiping gestures? I'm wondering if it's something I use a lot, but I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to.

The battery life could be a downer, except honestly, I plug my phone at night anyway and I'm sure the SE will make it through a day.

And yeah the screen size is gonna take some getting used to I'm sure.

I'm just gonna have to see if the ease of holding/using a smaller phone wins out over the rest.

Swiping up for home, left-right for app switching, up and hold for dock, tap-to-wake

SE or 11? These are two massively different phones. I’m not trying to be rude to the OP, not sure why you need someone else’s opinion on the phone, when you should make it based off the overall physical characteristics of what you’re comfortable with. In terms of size/weight, those two things alone you should be able to make your decision just based off that.

Why don't more people care about the weight of the phone? Is it because everyone uses cases?
I keep my phones naked and I care about weight. The new SE is 148g while the 11 is 194g. The 11 Pro (not the Max) is 188g.
I don't know why all the recent iPhones are so heavy, but I dislike it. I'm almost tempted to trade in my 11 for a SE.

I like to ask people who are using the devices to tell their story. I know everyone is using it differently, but the more information the better decision. Of course I could buy all the phones, test it and chose the best one. Overall I got a shot to the 11 and ended up returning it. The size was not an issue so much, but all the bulkiness make the phone feels uncomfortably.

Many times when buying skies, a mountain bike or a computer I read a lot of internet, it always helps me ,ale a decision. In the other hand the best solution is to buy something, not be even aware anything different, maybe better, exist and be the happiest person in the world.

I have never used a case with a phone, but I care the most about an overall feeling of the phone. Raw numbers are very helpful, but sometimes not tell the feeling of the phone. 11 Pro and 11 are not so different, but for me feels like very different size phones.

I think the battery nowadays are bigger and it is the most weight of the phone.

I care about the weight as I carry mine in my handbag. The 11 is the same weight, in a slightly smaller body, as my 6S Plus. Yes it’s heavier and bigger than an SE.

I always carry my phone naked as well. I’ve used iPhones form almost every category since the iPhone 3G days and recently switched from an Xs Max to the 11 Pro. My main issue was the size rather than weight.

Not sure if it’s because I’m used to lifting weights but I don’t really feel anything holding these phones. The 6 was light at 129 grams, but when I went to the all glass plus models I was fine with them as well. The 8 Plus was 202 grams.

I mean a 70 grams increase is not really something I’d feel much if I’m honest. The overall size is what I considered most when I switched back to the 11 Pro.
