Why don't more people care about the weight of the phone? Is it because everyone uses cases?
I keep my phones naked and I care about weight. The new SE is 148g while the 11 is 194g. The 11 Pro (not the Max) is 188g.
I don't know why all the recent iPhones are so heavy, but I dislike it. I'm almost tempted to trade in my 11 for a SE.
Bigger batteries.

If one is fine with the size, weight and price of the 11 then I see no point at all in getting the SE 2020 at all, the SE 2020 is for people who want small phones, but you will definitely not get iPhone XR or 11 type battery life and you’ll have to deal with a number of other drawbacks.

I feel like some people are confused by the SE 2020 being the new hot thing on the block, but I would personally not touch it if I want great battery life, it’s a great phone but I still feel the XR and 11 offer much better value.

For people interested I’ve found this camera comparison to be pretty informative.

they're both great phones

if wide angle, battery life and big screen / FaceID are the appeal... 11. Or colors beyond the standard ones.

if small size, budget pricing, Touch ID, and no notch are important / less weight... SE2.

I got SE2, because I already have an XR and didn't feel like enough of an upgrade. My XR still hums along and takes great photos in good lighting.

Not getting rid of my XR at least until I get an iPhone 12, or another X-style phone, too. Best of both worlds. Plus I'm really vining with the blue. None of the 11 colors really grab me.

Charged up my wife's old SE for giggles and to see the OS up close again and I must say it handles the OS well. Man the battery us poor at 87% health. Literally dropped from 92 to 89 within seconds. Downloading two apps drained another 2% and it did remain stable with some reddit browsing. After 25 mins maybe a little over 30 I shut it down on 69% which leads me to believe I'd not be able to comfortably use this device day to day. The size was nice to hold but viewing wise was rather restricted lol this is me using a 6.3" screen on my current daily driver.

If it were me I would choose the 11. I don’t miss the old looks, I don’t miss the button, I don’t mind the notch, nor do I mind the weight.

This is me 😀. I fell in love with the Purple 11.

One of my daughters has the purple. It's a lot prettier in person than I expected.

The red 11 however, is not nearly as good as the red XR. The red on the XR is stunning. If the red SE was exactly like the XR, I would have gotten it, but it's more like the 11 - a little too pinky red for my taste.

I am curious, I have never had iPhone with non-button Touch ID (like in 7 and 8). Has this Touch IDs got a "tap to wake" or is it necessary to press the Touch ID?

On the non button phones you can tap the screen once to wake the phone love that feature.

On the se you have to push the power button or Touch ID button to wake the phone.

Or use raise to wake feature.

means tapping the home button unlocks the phone 9/10 times.

I also miss the way on the faceid phones your messages can be hidden, but show a preview on the lock screen once your face is recognized.

Tapping or pressing/pushing the Touch ID? (when the screen is black)

You can do something like Settings->Accessibility->Home Button and at the bottom turn off Rest Finger to Open
When you rise a phone and put finger to Touch ID it will show preview of notifications.

Thanks. That fixed it and for some reason my notifications were set to "Always" hide notifications instead of "When Unlocked".

3 days in - not missing the 11 that much anymore.

- Battery is better now, lots of calling and usage. Now at 51% after 12 hours off charger.
- Very nice to hold, feels slim and light.
- Supersnappy performance
- TouchID is ok, but prefer FaceID.
- Missing 11 screen when viewing photo and video.

I woke up this morning with a painful right wrist. It felt like RSI, which I got at work using a normal mouse, before I changed to a roller mouse workstation. Anyway I was trying to work out what caused it when I realised just picking up my 11 with that hand caused shooting pains down my arm. I actually think it’s been caused by the 11. I‘ve been using it a lot since I got it and it’s in a silicone case. I don’t understand it to be honest as it’s the same width and weight as my 6S Plus, just a fraction thicker.

The end of the story is my beautiful Purple 11 is going back 😰, I can’t justify over £900 (including Applecare) on a Phone I have to be careful not to use too much. My 6S Plus went off to trade in yesterday (not Apple unfortunatel) so I’m moving into hubby’s old 6S until September when I’m hoping the 12 will give me the 11 experience (I loved Face ID, the full screen and the camera) in a smaller phone than the 11.

Have an 11 - got my SE today. I haven't had much time to play with it, but I think each will have their own pros/cons. I've been itching to have a smaller phone for a while, so I've been excited to check out the SE2. So far I LOVE the size in hand - gonna have to see if I love it as much with actual use.

Overall I love the look of it. The screen, though a good bit smaller, looks great and is a tad brighter than my 11 when set on the same brightness setting.

The camera seems just as good on the basic photo setting, as well as portrait mode with a grandchild. That's pretty much all I do, and I don't really even know how to utilize all the settings on my 11's camera anyway.

I'm definitely excited to play with it over the next couple days and see what I think.

Maybe it was just the straw that broke the camel's back. The R in RSI does stand for repetitive.

Also, just a thought, maybe the full length touch screen means your thumbs are stretching more to reach various touch points.

I hadn’t even thought about the guestures and swiping but I do think that might have been it. I don’t like to leave apps open so I’m forever closing down apps. Thats the only real difference between the home button phones and the 11. The swiping. If I do decide on a 12 in September I’m certainly going to trial it from Apple for the full two weeks before deciding if I’m keeping it.

Can you take a pic of both the rear and front of both side by side please?

That's a shame but I understand. Even with the 11 being slightly narrower than the Plus it's fatter and has a different balance and feel in hand. I wasn't really a fan but I have alot of muscle memory for my 7 Plus.

Gotta agree with Rui no onna, the full length screen coupled with swipe interface, means there's a little more hand acrobatics and stretching for single hand use.

It's different and you'd get used to it but with £900 on the line you gotta love it to commit, I get that. And being more than half way through the year, if you can wait for the 12 series you've probably made the best choice for you. Guessing you also sent back the SE 2020?

I did - gonna try to post. A lot of times my files are too large and I can't figure out how to fix that.

Realized I didn’t take the back of both, but I have this one with screens on because the SE looks a little brighter on the same brightness setting (to me).

Thank you. This helps me to make my decision later in the year.

My wife has the 8.

I have a note 9 which is a tablet lol knowing the 11 is only a shade bigger I think that's going to be better for me and not too jarring losing too much screen real estate.

SE

I’d rather get a used Xr If in the Market for an 11, if you can find a great deal

prices should drop further and options should expand later this year
