That's a shame but I understand. Even with the 11 being slightly narrower than the Plus it's fatter and has a different balance and feel in hand. I wasn't really a fan but I have alot of muscle memory for my 7 Plus.

Gotta agree with Rui no onna, the full length screen coupled with swipe interface, means there's a little more hand acrobatics and stretching for single hand use.

It's different and you'd get used to it but with £900 on the line you gotta love it to commit, I get that. And being more than half way through the year, if you can wait for the 12 series you've probably made the best choice for you. Guessing you also sent back the SE 2020?

Yes, the SE went back on Monday unopened. Same day I sent my 6S PluS off to trade in.

End of story - didn't keep the SE. 11 stays put.

- Screen real-estate
- Near-eternal battery
- Much better speakers
- Full screen, faceid
- Tap to wake
- Slightly better camera
- Better frontfacing camera in these video-calling times

Also, in Europe where I live the pricing is much closer.

Here the SE 64 Black is 550$ and 11 can be had for 850, but with 10% discount it is 764

Where do you get the 10% discount from?

means tapping the home button unlocks the phone 9/10 times.

I also miss the way on the faceid phones your messages can be hidden, but show a preview on the lock screen once your face is recognized.

You could always tap the home button with a different finger than you use to unlock your phone. That's what I do. My thumbprints are stored for unlocking, but if I'm touching the button just to check the time or something, it's usually when my phone is laying flat. I just use my finger to touch it - doesn't unlock, but I can see the time (usually the only reason I'd need to do that).

That is what I have started doing. I have both thumbs and both index fingers set to unlock and just use my middle finger to wake the screen.

Somewhat related. I keep holding the power button to active Siri!

I'm 4 days in now with my SE - sold my 11 yesterday and mailing it off this morning. I wasn't 100% sure, even once I listed the 11 for sale, but yesterday, when I went to get the 11 to erase it and box it up, it felt SO much heavier to me than it had before, and I have used + phones since the 6, then XR and 11 (no luck with XS Max/11 pro due to OLED).

I think I have just been ready for something smaller and lighter for a while.

The only thing I think I will really miss is the battery. This one charges pretty quickly, but I AM gonna have to charge it daily for sure. For me that's really not a problem, as it's easy enough to put it on a charger at home, and my phone is always plugged in when I'm in my car because of Apple play.

The swiping to close apps and stuff - yeah I've swiped from the bottom on the SE2, only to bring up the camera, flashlight, etc. - I think I'll get used to not having pretty soon. The thing is, I really struggled sometimes to get that swipe feature to work on the 11 - I always had to swipe several times to get it just right so I could close apps. That wasn't always quick, especially with one hand. I like that if I double-click that home button, the apps come up for me to close immediately. I just have to get used to doing it that way.

All in all I think this phone will be great til fall. If the perfect phone comes out then, I'll buy it and pass this one on to my granddaughter. If not, I'll just stick with this until it does. Unless of course I change my mind... ;-p

LOL - I keep pressing all the wrong buttons to take a screen shot! That has thrown me off a little.

I'm glad to hear you like the SE2, I probably won't have your minor issues as I'm upgrading from an iPhone 7 rather than "downgrading" from the 11. For me it's the perfect replacement. The only new things will be dual Sim, A13 processor, better photo options etc otherwise its physically the same phone. I think the size, weight, and Home button are perfect as they are, really I'm just future proofing as my 7 still works, I'm writing this on it, I was interested in your comment about battery life, I have a new battery in this iPhone but I still have to charge it over night or did you mean you still need to charge it again? Once in 24 hrs is fine for me.

You shouldn't have any problem getting through an entire day. I think the person you quoted simply meant they did not have to charge their previous phone every night.

I was just meaning it'll definitely have to go on the charger every night - my 11 didn't have to. I'm perfectly fine with that - not like I'm using it while I'm sleeping.

I could see with really heavy use, maybe having to charge it sooner, but that's not an issue for me - I don't use my phone excessively. Certainly if I'm out and about I use it more, but again, it's plugged in when I'm in my car, and I'm driving at least an hour if I go anywhere (I live in the boonies), so it's no biggie for me to boost the battery if needed.

I got my SE today. Found a really good contract deal which means I’m only paying out £343 for the phone over two years, rather than £469. I’ve spent all day on it setting up apps, passwords, syncing etc. I’m really pleased with it, it feels comfortable and I don’t think I’ll really miss the larger screen, well not until Lockdown ends and we actually get a chance to go out. Considering, for me, it’s over £500 less than the 11 I’m very happy with my choice.

I thought you had one you sent back.

Dang I can sell my xr 128 for $500 now locally ... very tempting

I just wonder how much it will drop in resell if I wait a few months (but before
Fall iPhone event / announcement)

I did. I sent it back sealed as I was having the 11, then I sent the 11 back as it was hurting my wrist. This one was ordered on Wednesday, it’s a monthly contract instead of buying from Apple, and it arrived today.

Oh okay - not that it's my business. I was wondering if maybe one was an original SE and I was just misunderstanding.

It took very little adjusting for me with the SE2 (coming from 11). I'm loving it. I was definitely ready for a downsize.

IDK - I'd probably jump on that opportunity, but I'm not always the most practical. ;-p

I did it! $525 with some cases, pretty solid. Cash in hand.

Money now is better than money later. If I regret tossing the XR, I'll have a stack of cash on standby for an upgrade later this year and won't be the end of the world to have an A14 phone.

Awesome! That's a great price! I agree. I kinda felt like that about the 11. Even if I wind up not loving it, I've still got a great, functional little phone I'll live with til October/November.

Honestly, the way that 11 felt in my hand after only having this a few days, it may be difficult for me to go back to something bigger/heavier come fall.

I am glad I gave the SE2 a solid week rundown too before switching it up

Maybe I'll miss it, but I'll live if I do haha. and so far so good

I think this is a good decision. I think the iPhone 11 just offers more over the SE in terms of [battery life and a larger] display If we’re comparing just the essentials here, the difficult part for anyone down-sizing to an SE, would have to realize that it’s a smaller display, and that’s something that I think I personally would struggle with being adapted to larger displays over 5.5 inches for the last four years.

Honestly, I think I'll love mine even more when my Loopy case arrives. It's gonna make it a dream to use with one hand. I've had Loopy cases on my last 3-4 phones, and it's so difficult for me to NOT have one right now. I think when I do it will just solidify my love for this little phone.

I was worried about that too. Honestly, the battery life will likely be more of an adjustment than the display size. It's convenient for me to plug my phone in most of the time, so it's not gonna be a big issue for me, and it does charge quickly, but it's weird to have to think about charging the phone before the day is over if you use it a lot.

For me, personally, it's worth it to have something smaller and lighter. I've had small phone envy on a few different occasions when I was in the Apple store. I'm sure now I'll wind up with large phone envy again at some point. ;-p

Upgraded from the SE1 to iPhone 11. Did this in early April when SE2 was just a rumor but my SE1 lightning port was just about worn out after 3+ years of heavy use. Could barely find a way to get it to charge and do a last offload of photos and backup. Had to stand it up on end on the cable. Was interested in SE2 and thought it would be a great upgrade but could not wait. Using wireless charging now on the 11 so little lightning port wear.

SE1 was a great phone, very lightweight and couldn't even feel it in my pocket. Used tethering with my laptop remotely, also as a hotspot and did remote wifi calling in the boonies where there was no cell signal. Also very lightweight for skiing. My wife still swears by hers and does not want to upgrade to SE2 as she says women's clothes pockets are very small and nothing larger than a SE1 will fit.

The 11 looks huge in comparison to the SE1. I was used to holding the SE1 up close and mainly held it in landscape mode to scroll through web pages. The 11 I hold vertically now and can see the equivalent of 3 SE1 pages at a time.

The 11 night mode photo capability was a must have as we have dogs and it was difficult to take good photos of them at night in the living room when they were doing something goofy. The SE2 may have been good enough however but outdoor night shots will be a good use case for the 11 also on trips.

I am a fairly slow upgrader so don't know if I'll look at the 5.4" 12 when it comes out. Have had just 3 iPhones, 4S->SE1 64G->11 128G. I tend to run them into the ground just like our cars. Keep them well maintained and run them for years. Spend the cash on other things like trips. Did 1 battery upgrade on the SE1.

The 11 pro would be better as it is slightly smaller than the 11 but the extra $400 for OLED and 2X optical zoom I can use instead for a 40X optical zoom compact camera.
