The irony, which you fail to grasp is Samsung users say the same thing that you just accused apple users of...they simply say "its not the same thing" or "apple didnt invent (gold) (fingerprints) (tablets) (rectangles) (any other obscure thing you want to insert here)"

Both sides are bumbling idiots. With that being said, Samsung is the only android oem I can't stand because their fans are a million times worse than any apple udder.

We're going o have to disagree there. On this very forum, there's a thread with a post that is essentially "You'll take what Apple gives you and be grateful for it" as if the consumer shouldn't want something better. The exact quote is, as follows:

I'm kind of hoping for that option, personally.

What were these outrageous demands, you might ask.

Hardware:

-2GB Ram & A8 Chip
-Laminated Screen (no air gap)
-Stereo Speakers
-Improved Camera with a Flash (handy as flashlight, for measuring heart rate,...)
-32GB base storage
-Touch ID

Software:

-Stock-Apps for Weather, Stocks, etc..
-Real iPad apps instead of stretched iPhone apps like the music app
-Running 2 apps side by side would be nice

It was in a topic about what would make the perfect iPad for him. Seriously, none of that is being "overly demanding". Maybe some of it won't ever happen, but that's because Apple makes a lot of money selling the 16gb iPad (and get to charge 100$ for the upgrade to 32gb).

Anyway, my point is that I have never read something like that from a Samsung fan. I have read the "you don't need that", but never the equivalent of "I hope Samsung tells you to go screw yourself".

Or, they were having trouble getting enough Touch ID modules to supply the iPhone 5S demand, and they held off for another year so they'd actually have iPad Airs to sell in 2013.

This year's iPad will also have a more advanced processor. Probably a better camera. Probably not a Project Tango-like 3D environmental mapper, but that will probably come eventually. It could have additional bells and whistles, such as environmental sensors.

If Apple has the means to put in new features (and keep the tablet affordable), they won't delay a whole year. They'll put in everything that is ready and practical, knowing they have plenty of features in the pipeline that aren't yet practical, but will be for future models.

There are two kinds of people; those who believe there are always technical reasons to why a company don't add a certain feature or upgrade, and those who see it for what it really is...

It's in Apple's best interest (shareholders, because nothing else matters I guess) to make you buy new and upgrade as often as possible. Because of that, they are withholding features to later revisions. They are stretching out incremental hardware upgrades over as many years as possible. They are in total control over their devices and what software "works" with them.

Do we enjoy this world? Do we enjoy growing old waiting for tech that could have been there many years ago, but isn't, because companies need to milk you on money to reward their shareholders?

Had a feeling they would start leaving the mini behind the Air. I don't see what the problem would be to have all of the same features in a smaller device, as is the case now. Are sales so much worse for the Air than they expected the past year to make this move? Not interested in an Air, Apple. This won't get me to switch to one even though I would be interested in switching to a mini with 2GB of memory. Looks like I'll be staying with my current retina mini for another year.

My Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 has 3GiB, and it's not even 64-bit.

It HAS to go to 2 GB...being unable to switch between multiple apps (especially anything in iWork) rapidly, or having Messages freeze up while it repopulates the message list drives me nuts. 1GB on my current Air is biggest complaint of any Apple product I've ever owned.

There's a distinct possibility that they double the RAM and it solves none of the problems people expect it would. If they wanted to they could solve these without increasing RAM–they are already pushing it pretty far.

I'd be hesitant to increase the RAM if I were Apple, simple because people will expect them to focused on solving persistent problems these.

Safari tabs, your situation, we are not pushing around more than a few tens of MBs of data –or at least the OS and Apps shouldn't be if they are designed well.

Don't tell me. Let Apple know... Add your name to the literally tens of people who have requested a flash unit on the iPad, and maybe they'll put it in.

I wouldn't use a flash very often, but it could be useful for document scanning.

The camera flash is an example of a feature that Apple probably left out for reasons other than that they were saving it to make next year's iPad more attractive. It doesn't mean they won't change their minds, but so far, it's in the pile with Adobe Flash, an IR blaster, a micro SD slot, and a removable battery.

Put two iPads on sale, side by side, one with a flash unit and one without it, and see which one people buy.
Most will buy the one with the flash as it won't have any negatives, it virtually a no cost option, and can only be something useful if you need it.

Another one of those items that if Apple had always put a flash unit on the back, as they have with the phone, it would be considered an obvious thing to have, which is is with any camera.

Other brands that did not have a flash would be then picked out as stupid for not including one, with comments about how rubbish they are for anything other than taking a photo in good lighting.

There are quite fewer that will call out Apple fanatics, maybe due to the site being what it is. Maybe if I read a post from a Samsung user telling other Samsung users to "go get bent" because they asked for more, I'd call it out.

Also, I mostly just respond to threads that interest me. If I'm not interested in the topic, I'm much less likely to read anything in it. And the idea of a 2gb iPad does interest me a lot. I might have to save up and replace my iPad 2 at some point if this happens.

No, not really. I mean, OS X does have preemptive multitasking. But the desktop OS that as a "side by side" that is baked into the system (and not just you moving two windows side by side) isn't OS X. That would be closer to Aero Snap, which is a Windows feature. They might have taken it from somewhere else, but it definitely wasn't OS X.

There's a troll in this very thread. I wont name names because I don't know the rules and I don't want to get banned, but it's quite obvious. Yet you either turned a blind eye to it, or didn't notice it. I think the latter is less likely because there have been people in this thread who've called the person out...

Look, I get it, Apple users are annoying. No one can deny that (and if they do, they're lying). But I'm being honest when I say it doesn't make you look any better when you pile on them for things that Samsung fans do also.

If you had quoted that guy who said get bent I for sure would not have disagreed with you. But when you say things like "Apple users would just say, it's not the same", I have to call that out, because Samsung users say literally the exact same thing or variations of the exact same thing (again, not kinda sorta...the exact same thing...)

I really fail to see the mini 2nd gen not getting 2GB RAM. It has the same CPU (slight clock speed difference aside) from the Air, and the same resolution. I'd be surprised if Apple fragments them like this.
