Sept 20th orders with October ship date, Apple.com buyers. [MERGED]

Just called Apple and was super nice to them and kindly asked the status on the shipping. All they can give me is " since the gold iPhone 5s is on high demand .....". At the end they gave me a free case and upgraded both to " Next Day Shipping"
You called them and they upgraded your delivery status? Am I reading this right? So you were bumped up before someone else. Sorry if I misread this whole thing.

I ordered my iPhone 5S on the 20th from a big-name reseller here in Germany (MediaMarkt). They initially told me they'd have some in stock, but that information quickly changed and has continued to change. A few weeks ago they said it would be a 2-week wait, then I just got another email saying it would be another 4-6 weeks from now (November most likely).
Not only that, but I went in to one of their stores where they had an iPhone 5S (exactly the one I ordered) boxed in the display case, but the guy told me they only had a few and were selling them at 100 more than RRP. They'd already taken my money, so I found it utterly disgusting that they would choose to scalp people rather than fulfil existing orders.
So now I've cancelled my order, and done what I should have in the first place and ordered from Apple directly. I'm at the end of the queue, so I expect I've got a reasonable wait ahead of me.
In Germany (and in most of Europe, I think) we use direct bank transfers to pay for nearly everything. If Apple did that, I would have bought it directly from them on launch day.

He just upgraded both my phone and case from standard shipping to next day shipping( I believe this take affect after the item leave the warehouse), but my order is still processing.

Just called Apple. They told me it's shipping before Oct 31st. It seems like I may end up without a phone because my older one is on eBay now. What a joke!

They gave me faster shipping, than standard shipping. My unicorn-phone is still "processing". Who knows if it will ever show up, even with special shipping.
Just got my shipment notification email at 2:11 am. Approximately 14 hours after my status changed to preparing for shipment. I have a tracking number but no delivery ETA yet.
I ordered a T-Mobile/Unlocked iPhone 5S Gold 16GB On October 6. I know I am late to the party but will mine still be shipped before November?

Just out of curiosity, did you receive an email notification when it changed from "Processing" to "Preparing for shipment"? Or was it not after it changed to "Shipped"?
Usually only at "shipped".

There must be some sort of "discrimination" when it comes to contract and contract-free (unlocked) phones. Those of us who didn't see change yesterday, all ordered unlocked phones.

i believe it sends you an email when it changes status tho. cuz that's what happened with my case.
This is getting really out of hand now. If I could, I would open-hand slap Tim Cook across the face. Maybe add a backhand in for good measure.
