Thanks for keeping your fingers crossed! Mine finally came in a little while ago.
On my phone now, so not sure how to post a screen shot. Looks like we're on our way to Canada!
Yay!!!

Yes, the same thing happened to my iphone. It went back from preparing for shipping to processing. So far, my order is suppose to ship on October 24-28. Hopefully, it ships sooner, thing is i don't know how sooner.![]()
Welcome to the club! Ordered the same at 7:30 AM Eastern 9/20. And too add insult to injury my status changed last week to preparing to ship and then back to processing. My credit card had a pending charge that has since disappeared. I got sooo excited.. for nothing! I know everyone is sick of hearing us whine but sometimes you have to get it out! Certainly seems like a messed up process that people that ordered after us are getting their phones and that those of us who ordered 9/20 are getting them at the same time as people ordering just a few days ago.
Happy face!
Anchorage here we come!
Why am I still waiting in my phone from launch dayso depressed, I wanna crawl in a cave and cry! I saw another gold today ugh I WANT IT

Welcome to the gold 32gb club...which seems to have the lowest supply of all colors/models. Arghhh!![]()
Ya I wonder why this is .... could it be that it's the most in demand? Hmmmm ....
No need for sarcasm. With this iPhone launch, there actually isn't a way of knowing whether it's highest demand or lowest supply.
Apple has most likely made adjustments (over the course of the past 4 weeks) to production lines based on initial demand...so if it were true that 32gb were the highest demand, I believe they would have adjusted production. Personally I don't think it's likely that demand was low initially and suddenly it has become the most popular one.
32s are generally the most popular. Seeing as gold in any size still seems to be leaving at a snail's pace, one has to wonder if Apple has done anything at all. At this rate if Apple doesn't step it up, the backlog will run straight into next year.
It was interesting to see all those orders all of a sudden reversing status. I wonder if it was a simple miscalculation in stock, or if there was something larger behind it. For all we know, that batch could have been defective.
The problem must lie in how they make the gold phones, gold. Maybe the painting process still hasn't been perfected. On the inside of the device, it's the exact same as a silver or space gray.
If that is indeed the problem, it's a damn shame they didn't try and perfect it first.

if this is the issue then close the orders and dont reserve peoples money![]()

I agree with you completely. I was thinking the same about the 32s and the reversal in status. It was around that time that I suddenly started seeing a lot more gold 16s and 64s for in-store pickup options (at least in my locale), but still no 32s. That's why I started wondering if the batch of 32s was defective or something.
I agree that in general the golds are leaving the factory at a snail's pace (maybe due to the "goldening" process), but there is definitely something up with the 32 golds in particular.
Lucky you guys for picking the right size. Want to send some of that luck our way?![]()
First: Gold phones are gold... 16, 32, and 64s all have the same body. It doesn't really make a difference as to which one you ordered.
Second: They only "take" your money, when the phones ship.

yes man, but they bind the money...and if you want to cancel you must wait 1 week to actually "touch" the money again..

My apologies if my post sounded as though I was being sarcastic. I was actually genuinely wondering why the situation is what it is. Sorry.
oh, sorry. Didn't realize it wasn't sarcasm. At the very least, it started an interesting discussion about the gold 32gb issue/shortage/mystery...:d
That's a very good point ... I could see something going wrong during production, resulting in them having fewer phones to ship than they had expected. They're REALLY backed up with the 32 golds . Someone in one of the other threads who ordered a 32 gold (unlocked) at 1:00am PST on the 20th, has now finally gotten a shipping confirmation for the 21st of October!! That's 10 HOURS before I finally ordered my phone (after running to several stores lol). Now THAT is unfair.
Really? Ugh.... I know everyone is hoping that the shipping estimate we all have (10/24-28) is a safe date and that it will ship sooner but I am starting to wonder. I am pretty resigned to the fact that it will be here at the very end of the month or beginning of November. I am pretty bummed. Broke my 4s the week before launch and using my husband's old 4. It is slow.. and the pictures suck! I take a lot of pictures of my toddler on the go and don't like to carry a separate camera. I know, I am whining sorryI hope the gold is worth the wait!
It has arrived....
Ordered 16GB 5s Grey on 9/28 and UPS just dropped it off. The thrill of the hunt is over and I have my prize. I almost want to send it back just so I can track it again! Maybe I should have gotten the 32GB...
The torch has been passed and it falls to you all. Best of luck and thanks to everyone for making this such an interesting process. This forum will be connected to my new phone... and that is pretty funny!
