Well I don't know if I'm qualified to give a proper review, but I can tell you about what I have used so far.
Cosmetically it is flawless, the "golding" of the phone is perfect. The gyro/compass seems to be ok, but the level feature is somewhat suspect. Phone rattles slightly when shaken (camera lens?), and the home button clicks a little loud.
Touch ID is ridiculously responsive. Photos look even better now, haven't really had a chance to use the burst mode or slo-mo. iOS 7 runs smoothly, and there are no hiccups/lags in performance. Can't say too much about the new graphics performance (don't have IB 3 yet), but current games I have are really smooth.
I was a complete idiot with my 5, and downloaded the iOS7 betas ahead of the official release. Ever since, it has never been the same... in addition to a failing sleep/wake button and battery. It was a welcomed upgrade to the 5s, and it made me realize just how much my 5 deteriorated. I also got this because I needed the extra internal storage.
If you're moving up from a 4s or earlier, this is a huge leap forward. The larger screen and vastly better performance, will win your hearts over (in addition to the gold

). If you're like me and upgrading from the 5, then it may not be such a big deal. Sure all the new bells and whistles are fun, but if you aren't a power user, you may not notice a huge difference.
Is it worth the wait? Absolutely! The gold model is a one of a kind... until the next iPhone release.
Stay strong everyone, you are all on the brink of having it shipped and/or delivered to your homes!
