What would you upgrade from a Series 0 Stainless Steel to?

Same as many of you all. I have S0 SS. It works great. Couldn't decide if I should upgrade to S3. I don't swim as much but when I do, I really miss my watch. It would be nice to get a text from your girlfriend telling me where she is at the pool or something like that. But I don't see myself paying $600+ just for that option. I do keep my iPhone within distance but not when I'm near the pool or a lazy river.

Like many posters have claim. If I forgot my wallet at home, I would keep on driving. But if I forgot my iPhone at home, I'm turning around. I'm so bad that I even have a second iPhone (7+plus main 6+ plus backup) around.

Now that I see the s3SS are going for about 3-4 weeks. I feel much better now. I'm not getting one. Read all your comments here all night. I think the order delay really help me decide

Hemmed and hawed on upgrading to a S3 from my launch day S0 SS. Have been most interested in the gray ceramic but was also hoping to see more IRL photos before committing to it. Bummer that its shipping date is already a month out, though that wasn't unexpected.

I'm hoping for someone doing a clearance to get the series 2 for cheap. My series 0 SS with product red sport band was only about £250.

I might upgrade. For my travel, I like the water resistance as well as the ability to receive occasional phone calls without having my phone with me. Silly, but the red dot really annoys me--but then so did losing the headphone jack and I still went with a 7+.

I have a SS Series 0 and upgrading next year. I’m waiting for better stock and my financial situation will be better (was laid off and just got back to work). To me the updates in speed and barometer are big improvements besides just LTE. I don’t plan on using LTE, mainly because I’m on Cricket and they’re not supported, at least not yet.

Seems the SS takes more of a depreciation hit than the Sport but I plan on doing the every other year cycle after ordering the SS 42mm this year with LTE.

Barring a completely different design change, I don't see what would require me to update next year as LTE was what had me on the fence the last 2 years.

Well, I went with the Series 3 Stainless Steel. Costs a lost, but since I kept my Series 0 for this long, I figured it's worth it to me.

I am really hoping to score a Series 2 Stainless Steel Apple Watch from Best Buy on Clearance in a month or two. Last year I got the Space Black Stainless Steel with Link Bracelet for $350 and I love it. I would love to get a Series 2 and sell my Series 0.

Dont need LTE but want the Silver SS, so series 2 is my go. Anyone know any decent deals going on for the silver 42mm ss watch?

It's true. The stainless does not hold value any better than the sport model, even though you think it would because of the materials used on that watch. The sport model is widely more popular than the stainless model due to the price point. Even used stainless models and aluminum models are similar in value on other sites.

The stupid red crown puts me off. And also the thickening of the screen+case in series 2, plus now the back pod in series 3. I know it's not alot thicker but it bugs me the wrong way and I already think it is too thick.

I as well had a launch day Series 0 SS and with the speed, brightness, water resistance, GPS + Altimeter there was enough incentive to upgrade.
I might or might not use the cellular, but getting additional 8 GB and having the option to add cellular e.g. when going on vacation is great.
I am a lot outdoors and the sapphire glass of my Series 0 held up very well while have been banged many times.
So yes ordered another SS, this time black with Milanese loop. Will probably last again 2 or 3 generations.

I decided to upgrade from my launch series 0 SS to the Black SS series 3. I sold my 0 to a buddy for $100, these things just don’t hold any value. I actually ordered a sport LTE but decided on the SS version just because the original one I had held up really nicely and it was only a couple hundred more. I’d like to have gotten the regular SS version but it is only offered with bands I don’t like.

nope. not upgrading. i was the early bunch who said i don't need the apple watch. once the deals came about on slickdeals where bestbuy has the SS models for cheap last year, i felt like i wanted one. I got a 42mm SS w/ black leather loop for $349. got the wife the 38mm SS w/ the link bracelet for $249!! i don't see a need to have the cellular version so the series 0 is fine for us.

I'm sticking with my SS Series 0. I really only use the watch for time, notifications, and workout tracking...none of those things require a faster processor or more memory, and I literally have my phone with me at all times so LTE isn't a big draw.

Lighter, thinner, and new materials will get me to upgrade.

I’m waiting for the SS Series 2 to go on sale. Happy with my SS 0. I don’t use any apps. Mainly just notifications and minor Siri.

Plus. Damn. They really don’t hold any value unlike other Apple products.

I'll pass on this one.

1. OS 4 is still supported on our S0
2. Cellular is not available in my country which means I'd have to settle for an aluminum one, which I won't.
3. S0 SS is the best long-term value in terms of build esp with the reality that is the case choices for S3.
4. Bring on S4! I'd get it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, if it'll the same "case" (get it?) then I'd have to settle for Aluminum later on.

I have SS S0, and I am buying SSSB S3 and will keep both. This way I will have 2 great watches that I can wear on any occasion. I had aluminium AW - it looks like a toy. SB Sport looks a little bit better, but SS is a watch intended for adults IMHO

I’ve got a series 0 SS that I love. But I’m not going to spend the money for an upgraded SS model. When I’m ready, I’ll “upgrade” to a S3 aluminum, to get the improved performance of the new CPU. But I don’t need LTE, so I’ll go space-grey aluminum. But not for a while. My 0 SS is working ok for now.

I agree. I have the S0 black SS with link bracelet. Great watch, horrible value proposition.
No way I am shelling out $700 every two years for an upgrade. I can see myself getting a Series 3 next year when 4 comes out at lower prices or I ride it into the sunset. My usage, time, notifications, activity tracker, texting does not require a faster processor or LTE.

Buying a phone every two years is one thing, adding a watch upgrade gets ludicrous.

As Series 3 becomes more widespread, I would look close to the November area/Black Friday, I imagine you will see a lot of liquidated stock for the Series 2 for almost $200 off around that time frame.

Based on my daily checking of Best Buy's website, they only have a Stainless Steel Series 2 with the Milanese Loop. Other options are Black Stainless Steel. I would prefer Stainless Steel with the Sport Band. I don't know if retailers are intentionally holding back their stock, if they had any, for Black Friday.
