Since NRC 5, i do not have voice overs or feedback during/after my runs (not watch related).

My phone (6s) is set on German and the app is also displayed in German. Everything works well, except that I get no feedback...
Even if I go to feedback options and click on "preview voice over" nothing happens.

Anyone else having similar issues when language is set to German/anything else besides English?

Another option to get NRC data to Strava or GC is to get a SmashRun account, link it to your NRC account, and then use Tapirik to sync between SmashRun and Strava, GC.

I tried setting this up. Seems to have worked, though I think you have to manually go into Smashrun to sync the runs from Nike before they can get sent to Tapiriik. The weird thing was that for some reason the times in Strava were off... it seemed to think I was running at about 3:11 per Kilometre, when in fact I do about 5 per K. However Runkeeper shows the time correctly when it's synced to there, so it must be some weirdness in Strava that's causing the issue??? Anyone got any thoughts on that???

Has anyone tried the NRC app with an bluetooth HRM? I tried today wich an Polar H7 wich word fine with the Apple Workout app but if the HRM is connected to the watch I don't get any HR data in the NRC app.

One annoying thing about the NRC watch app, is that heart rate isn't prominently displayed. It is in a very small font in the upper left hand corner. I tried scrolling thru the metrics using the digital crown and it doesn't seem to show HR in the scroll.

I do a lot of training by HR zone and it would be nice to be able to see the actual HR value while running.

Maybe something they can fix in a future release.

GPS is crap with the Nike app. The native workout app is miles better, UNLESS Apple applies tons of smoothing to make the native app record pretty runs.

+ 1, my old eyes even missed that. First run with NRC app. It was about 0545 and as my Garmin235 lit up for my first mile, all of sudden this female voice tells me I had been 1 mile and told me the time. Never having run with a phone this was a first for me. Neat. I liked it.
One thing I did notice the NRC app showed my HR avg at 126. The Garmin listed 123. What was weird is that I didn't have the HR sensor on with the Garmin. Go figure. Was close with pace and distance on my 6 mile run.
Correction. My Garmin reflected no HR on Garmin Connect--- BUT on the AW activity app it reflected a HR reading for NRC and listed one for my Garmin. Strange.

So I read all six pages of this thread and still can't determine which running app is best. I also can't see in the native Activity app on the iphone where it shows the map of my runs.

It should show at the very bottom of the workout next to the weather. It is a tiny thumbnail that you have to click to expand.

Is that only if you use the AW2? I've been using Runtastic with my iPhone 6 Plus for some time now and don't see a thumbnail pic.

Depends on what you are looking for...

If you want a basic app that tracks your run, then the native workout app works well.

But if you are interested in getting your run with map data to Strava, Training Peaks, etc., you can't do that with the workout app.

Personally I have used both the Pear app and the NRC app and the Nike app seems more buttoned up. But you still need a 3rd party app like RunGap to get your data to Strava.

Those are the only apps available right now that use the Series 2 GPS .. I am sure we will see others soon.

I just want to track my progress and runs on my own phone/computer. I don't care about sharing it, posting it to face book, etc. so it sounds like the basic workout app on the watch is all I need.
Or I will just use the Nike app.

That is true, but since this thread is about the series 2 I assumed you had one. My apologies if that was an incorrect assumption.

I believe it is only with Series 2 in the Workout app or series 0 or 1 with the Workout app and tethered to your iPhone.

I just got my hands on an AW2. I just haven't run with it yet.

I've just had a quick look at RunGap and from what I see you need to pay £1.49 every few months to be able to export to Strava. Not too keen on that.

That's right, but if you think about it, complaining about 2€/3 months is ridiculous. A cappuccino grande at starbucks costs 4€ and lasts about 15? minutes. I don't understand why apps are regarded with so little value..

I don't mind paying for apps but I do dislike subscription apps and IAPs
