If I order a nike watch using the app and pay with apple pay does it only take the money when they are dispatched? Do I need the full money in my account now?

They make a pre authorisation of a small amount at time of order to check the card is valid then charge full amount on despatch.

Damn. So there's no chance of me going anywhere today to get a series2 gold on concrete and an aluminium on woven? My closest stores are Milton Keynes, Watford, Cambridge but could travel into London.

Apples website now lets you check store availability for the watches.
Did anyone manage to walk into an Apple Store and get one? All stores between Manchester and Newcastle were listed as "Unavailable for Collection" which combined with the iPhone 7 availability issues possibly makes this the worst Apple launch yet....
SS with black sports band showing as available for pickup at Convent Garden and Selfridges and so are quite a few 38mm sports watches.

Placed my order a few days ago (Nike) and I've just checked credit card online and someone has made a £1 charge (pending) against my card. I'm assuming it's Apple! Just hope they hurry up and send it now!
As far as I'm aware go to the watch you want, select and scroll down to see availability in your local one and it also gives options of other nearby stores. Would be great if there was a list of what's available rather than check each watch!

Available for pickup from the Apple Store in Covent Garden. Just reserved a SS black sport band (42mm) and it is already available.
Sorry not been down just spoken to the call centre and whats on the web is whats in store they say, its 2 hours from me so not going with out a garantee
You can pay online and as soon as it says "ready for pickup" it is in the store with a sticker on it for your name - i.e. guaranteed.
They have no idea of stock and suggested it will be weeks before the series 2 will be available, I suspect glad few will turn up here and there but a LOT of people were ordering for delivery so the back order list is getting longer and longer, it will be November now before this is easley available, I have ordered online nownmy self with 18-31 oct estimate

I wonder what the problem with stock was. Surely Apple know how many have been produced and how many each retailer has been offered?!?
After the Argos saga earlier in the week mine was finally delivered by Yodel yesterday to my neigbour who's just brought it round .... 42 Aluminium SG with sport band.
Does anyone by chance know if you can add AppleCare to a watch without going in store ? (I know you have to take phones in person)
