Hi guys so I preordered the gray ceramic watch because it was in stock at the 5th Ave store. When I got to the store I did not like the look of the color and was ready to get a different watch but I noticed that the steel and black steel watches were already scratched. I tried the ceramic with a black strap instead off the gray that it comes with and I loved it so I bought it. It feels really premium and after some issues with T Mobile getting the data set up I am really enjoying it.

I do have some buyers remorse and I am paranoid about scratching it even though I bought it because it should be very scratch resistant. The only bad thing is that in 12 months I will want to buy another one and will probably lose $1000 on this but I guess if I use it every day then it is worth it. Does anyone else feel like me?

As with most Apple products you might get about half the value if you resale it. It’s not much more the the 256 iPhone X which many will buy and sell within a year. My instinct said to go with the SS but my last 2 were SS and I wanted something more exotic.

I've read that the SS have lower resale value, is that true? ie. you might only get 40% of the original price if you sell your SS within the same year but with the aluminium sports you might get say 60%?

Anyone sold their s2 edition? Curious what I might be able to get for a flawless one.

congrats with your new watch. Do you have any any pictures ?

On your feelings. IMHO buying an expensive Apple Watch is NOT sensible. The Hermes, Edition or the SS versions are priced too high and they will not e an good investment... but there is more than taling about money. It is the feeling of owning a special piece which makes you happy has special looks and might improve your daily life. You buy an expensive Apple Watch because you can afford it, if you can't, get the aluminium one !

I am a watch collector with various vintage IWC and Roles watches laying in a drawer taking dust but I only wear both a original Hermes and Series 2 SB SS. Next Apple Watch is a ceramic grey on order. I keep the Hermès and the SB SS goes to one of my children. They happy, I am happy ;)

PS is buying an iPhone X priced here at € 1329,00 sensible. Of course not. Is buying an expensive car sensible ? Of course not.

Enjoy your new stunning watch, also experiment with some the band colours like PRODUCT Red and dark blue, charcoal grey leather loop etc :)

Just my 2 cents...

Yup I agree. If you can afford it then get the most expensive model that appeals to you. If you feel it’s a waste of money to upgrade yearly then don’t upgrade every year :) I don’t plan on upgrading next year which helped me justify spending so much on a smart watch. I’ll just replace the battery as necessary and upgrade when the form of the watch changes.

Apple products and any electronic products are disposable items and will never hold their value especially if you ate like me and upgrade every year. But it’s our money and we do what we like with it

On another note, I pick up my white ceramic tonight
I truly hope your unboxing experience is better than this one :D

Also due to heavy lighting the grey ceramic looks very bright...

This is a good point. And this is why technology is superseded rather quickly for the next upcoming product. If one makes a purchase with an expensive electronic device, appreciate it for what it is and get as much use out of it as you can, because it's already going to be considered dated, as the next product is already in development or preparing for its next launch.

Is there a way on any iPhone (hopefully the X) to be able to delete photos out of my camera roll but keep the photo in its specific "Album"? (Without the help
Of a computer)

Thanks!

Album is just a tag. You don't have 2 photo, one in Camera Roll and one in Album, you have only one. When you put your photo in album, you just tag that photo that it now is associated with the album.
So no, you can't delete photo and keep it in only album.

That is very inconvenient Apple...

Use Google Photos. Sort photos into albums either on the phone or website. Then delete the local copies (one click option to reclaim storage space). All local copies are deleted but the photos and associated albums remain on the cloud. You can view them just the same in the Google Photos app. As long as you have connectivity of course.

(why is this in the ceramic watch thread anyway?)

I think the premium pricing is due to the exclusive watch faces, packaging, and the orange Hermès sports band...

I guess I don't see the value in paying, what?, 700 bucks for a leather band. Either buy one on the side for a normal SS watch or look into 3rd party options which are quite good these days. Feels like you get more of your money's worth with the ceramic edition.

(yes I know it's all subjective. I'm sure someone else would call me an idiot for wanting a ceramic white watch as opposed to a basic aluminum. To each one their own, I don't see the value in a Hermes edition. )

I think it's pretty good way to handle photo. This way one picture can be in as many albums as you want without taking space on the phone. (like in event album, says New Year Day, and also in Favorite album for example)
You have albums to go to when you want to see the photo in that album. And you have Camera Roll for day to day stuffs. The best of both world.

But I agree, this doesn't belong here in Ceramic thread.

idk I'm a "newbie"
[doublepost=1506330940][/doublepost]What's a good thread for my question?

Yikes! Son of a... I cannot win. :(

I picked up a Ceramic Grey one at Covent Garden this afternoon - I went in with the intention of getting the black SS one, but I absolutely fell in love with the grey!

It's a very subtle colour - definitely an "I like this" vs an "I want to wear my money on my wrist" thing.

Cool and congrats. Is the look distinct and premium vs. the aluminum of the Sports? Could you post some pictures?

Will post some photos when I'm home from work (popped there on the off chance during and was very lucky!).

It just felt like a very well made, luxury product. And wasn't as in your face as the black.

I'm surprised that the Black SS was scratched. I've had my Black SS series 2 for a year now and it is absolutely spotless, despite having been worn every day (and night for sleep monitoring) and having had quite a few bumps against stone/metal objects.
