Hey there Ceramic Gang! I completely understand the affection towards the Ceramic Edition and I also know that I’m speaking to a discerning group of Watch enthusiasts. I think the Ceramic Edition is gorgeous, but I just can’t bring myself to invest in it knowing that in approximately 3 years I would have to move on to another model.

I agree....I wish Apple had a trade-in program for the Edition. If they did, I would likely buy one. So for me, I’m not moving up to the Edition, but I am very happy for those of you that have one. They are certainly gorgeous watches!

This type of purchase shouldn’t be seen as an investment... it’s a luxury item, that’s pretty much it. We buy it because it’s a special edition of a device we like a lot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So do we have any general consensus on how the gray and white stack up against the various bands?

It's so hard to tell even in the AppleStore what the gray ceramic looks like with those bright lights.

I am extremely interested in the band info for the gray ceramic as well. I've narrowed my model selection to one of the two ceramic models. I'm afraid I'd destroy the crystal in the aluminum models and the SS models are too heavy for an every day run watch. The ceramic is similar in weight to my existing Garmin watch that wear 24/7.

The white appear to look great with wide variety of bands, but it may be a bit too flashy for me. The gray appears to look difference from photo to photo and I have yet to see any posts showing the gray with any band other than the sport band that comes with it. I'm most interested in the Nike sport band for running and then something a bit nicer for dinner or going out.

This is my favorite band other than the band that came with it so far. The Black and Tan somehow works.

Forgot to mention this was a cheap amazon band.
Thanks! These are exactly the sort of pairing photos I've been searching for. These really highlight how light the grey actually is when compared to black.

I’ve posted pictures with a few different bands on the gray ceramic here. I’m also going to pick up a black sport loop and a couple of the nylon buckles this afternoon. Not really interested in venturing out in the heat with my 4 kids though. I’d rather wait for my wife so I can go alone or she can entertain the kids for a few minutes while I run in the Apple store.

Went to the Apple Store this morning because I’m still waiting on my Grey Ceramic watch to be delivered (Monday). Currently have a SS S0 Apple Watch with link bracelet... Link bracelet (Silver) definitely won’t look good with the grey...

Apple Store employees said their “designer recommendations” for the Grey Ceramic is either the Charcoal Grey leather loop which looked pretty nice in person, or one of the new Nylon/Velcro bands. I don’t like Velcro so I think I’m going to give the Charcoal Grey Leather Loop a try.

I’m interested in seeing the Space Black Stainless Link band on the Ceramic Grey watch if anyone can post pictures?

Edit: I did find this YouTube video of this guy putting the black link bracelet on the Ceramic Grey. Still kind of hard to tell though. Definitely recommend turning off your audio lol

I just noticed my Ceramic has a couple of black spots in the Ceramic itself so I am sending it back. Otherwise it’s a very handsome looking watch. I’m going to try and post pictures of my Hermes Deployment Buckle to the Hermes owners thread shortly though.

Here is the Eoso link bracelet off Amazon. Think I’m going to return it but I can’t decide.

Thanks for posting this - Yeah I think I’m going to stick with the Charcoal Grey Leather loop for now. Big color difference between that steel black and grey ceramic, especially considering the price if you go for Apple’s official steel bands.

Here is a knock off black Milanese. The black bands are growing on me.

I REALLY am tempted to return my gray ceramic and swap it for the white. I liked my white series 2 a lot and I feel like the gray ceramic just doesn't work well with too many band combinations. The white is/was beautiful and striking.

To be honest indoors it turns more black. Outside it looks a little lighter.

I just picked up the midnight blue woven nylon, the black sport loop, the black woven nylon and the obsidian black nike band. I like the black sport loop. I’m anxious for my dark olive and midnight blue sport loops to come.

Yes, thanks for the pics of the ceramic grey with various bands. At this point, I'm leaning toward the white based on the photos. I "want" the grey to work, but I wish it was a bit darker.

My "nice" (meaning non-workout) watch is a black stainless with the black stainless link bracelet. I love the way it looks, but at more than 100 grams total (more than 50 grams just for the watch), it will never be a running watch. My current tri-sport watch is 42 grams including the band. I think I can make the S3 white ceramic work.

Here are 2 more. The black sport loop and my new favorite the obsidian Nike band.
[doublepost=1506200627][/doublepost]Black woven nylon isn’t bad. The wife is going to kill me if I keep all these and the other 2 coming and end up with a new watch and 6 or 8 bands.

One more video of both the white and the grey ceramic

Also, it looks like my white one has to go back as AT&T have completely borked the EID (eSIM) in it to the point that they can not activate it at all - it is as though the SIM has been deactivated and can never be resurrected. I'm pretty livid especially since the wait on a replacement is 3-4 weeks...

Wow you have 2? :) Now I don't feel as guilty for dropping 1400 on 1 lol.

I’m still torn. I don’t feel like I could pull off the white. I’m 90% there with the gray but that’s a lot of money for 90%. Think I’m going to check Apple store stock every night and see if they get a black stainless in. Ride it out with the bands I’ve got in the meantime and see what happens.

At certain angles the grey ceramic reminds me of the grey aluminum and I just can’t go back to that. The white ceramic is the perfect watch for me. I have a decent watch collection but I might wear this exclusively for quite a while. I had some doubts about whether I picked the right ceramic but seeing the white in person I’m sold.

Yeah, I just packed mine up to send back. I don't love the gray at all like I did when I got the white ceramic series 2. Now I have to wait another 3-4 weeks to get the white one :(

Sorry to hear that. Maybe take the grey back in store and see if they have walk in stock for the white?

I got mine off the flagship store in Sydney just by walking in when the online store says delivery in 4 weeks.

Ah. Yea they both are nice. I think the grey looks far better so I went with it but can see the allure to the white as it may suit more bands. Ive just never been a fan of white or yellow gold watches products. Ill be glad when apple release Black AirPods.

NO, I only have one. That video is from AppleInsider :)
I wish I had two because I do like them both, but I love the white.

Is it just me or is the new sport band way more comfortable than last year's?
