Series 3 Ceramic Edition Owners Thread

Is it because you have AppleCare+ that they follow your return so closely? Or did you make a complaint or something when you returned the faulty one?
Same here. Ordered the white ceramic the evening of 9/26 and it was just updated to Preparing to Ship. Still says delivers Oct. 24th-31st, but hopefully that will change soon as well.
So coming from a launch day S0 to a launch day S3 Edition, I'm thrilled a week in. I've left my phone behind a couple times for test runs. Got a call during one of those time periods. Got my AirPods out of my pocket, popped them in and hit answer. I did then have to swipe up and switch audio to AirPods but it worked perfectly. After the call, I tried playing music to the AirPods directly from the watch (no phone around.) Works as advertised. This evening I ran into a store to pay a bill and browse to kill a few minutes. I did find myself reaching for my phone to take a picture to send to my wife. Oops, no phone. I wanted to look something up, hmm, can't do that either. It's really nice still to not have my phone in my pocket.
I posted my current band collection a page or 2 back. My charcoal leather loop is preparing for shipment about a week early. It says it should be here on the 3rd. My olive sport loop still says Oct 11. Don't really have a favorite band yet. I have been switching between them and like them all, which makes it that much better.
The biggest difference to the S0 is honestly the battery. When my S0 would be at 10%, the S3 is >60% even though I'm using the watch quite a bit more than I did the S0. I'm still not a heavy user. I check messages, weather, maybe dictate a few messages, control music a bit; basically I avoid getting my phone out so much.

I agree its great but no way can I be without my phone for long periods of time. Just like you said sometimes you need to snap a pic or look up something. I don't get these folks that want to leave their phone at home all day and use the watch..I couldn't do that.
I wrote a note about the issues that arise from embedded SIMs without proper support and training within the carriers. The fact that my watch was considered "dead" to the carrier because the EID had been burned and deactivated through trying to activate it, I had to get a replacement. So I wrote Mr. Cook a note about it - and got a great reply from the Executive Support team and a lot of support on getting things replaced and working.
Yea it shows 10/24 online for me as well. However, I just checked UPS my choice and it's already listed there, showing delivery Monday 10/2. The estimate from Apple is way off!
I always tell people if you have an issue bypass everyone and everything and go straight to the CEO, their exec teams are amazing at solving problems (any company not just Apple).
I don’t hold as strong of an opinion as you do on this, but I will agree it looks bad. The 38mm on a 42mm Watch looks terrible. It’s not uniform at all, and does not look like something Apple or any other high end Watch maker would do. Stick with bands that fit correctly.
Mine changed this morning as well. It has shipped and is set to arrive on 10/4 (at least two full weeks ahead of the original estimate). One band I ordered at the same time as the watch actually arrived today. The other band still says "in process".

what I understood is that even S2 AND S3 battery life makes some difference
I finally got myself a Hermes 42mm Fauve Barenia single tour to go with my white ceramic. Some say they clash but I quite like the “caffe latte” look
One of my favorite combos with the white ceramic. Not a big fan of the series 3 with red dot though. I like my series 2 with a black dot a lot better.
Agreed. But it’s nice to have the option. There are times when I don’t need anything but might be waiting on an important call or something.
Not gonna lie but that combination looks absolutely terrible in my opinion.
Man, I'm surprised these are so popular. Apple still shows 3-4 weeks. Best Buy was showing October 20th, but then I put a 42mm white in my cart and it said delivers October 2nd. I tried to order but by the time I got to the final page it said "more on the way" maybe by October 27th.
White ceramic 42mm is delivering in 5-6 days despite showing 3-4 weeks wait @ Apple.com. The gray ceramic is more popular.
Best Buy changed quickly today, I saw the 42mm white show delivery as soon as Monday; 10 minutes later went to 10/27.
check Best Buy, it looks like they may have got some Gray Ceramic in. Dates as of this morning show Shipping delivery by October 9th if you choose free route, or you can do 2 day shipping and receive watch by October 4th.
I was going to get from Best Buy until I saw on the final checkout page that has a reminder showing there’s a restocking fee specifically for this product if opened.
Nice week for sure! My Mustang has CarPlay and I love it. I wish I could get it on my 2012 Lincoln.
On a related note, has anyone tried pairing their watch with their car yet? I keep forgetting to. This would be necessary for me to leave my phone behind. I use my devices for music in the car full time. I never listen to the radio anymore.
You can buy the bands for the ceramic edition, you just have to contact apple directly and they will prepare a link for you. I'm not sure if only people with editions can order them though or if they will let you purchase the cloud band if you order the gray.

I wear it with white dress shirts to work I think it looks fine. I prefer it to the white ceramic because white on white looked odd to me.
