I’m in the same boat, I love my Series 2 white edition but really am into the new grey. I’ve got a ton of bands so a series 3 white makes the most sense but I prefer the subtlety of the grey.
If you pretend that you’ve thrown out all your other bands (or never got them in the first place), it’d be a simple choice for you? I think that’s true for me too.

Even though the soft white sport band definitely blends/looks better with the white series 3 ceramic than the cloud color that came with the series 2 ceramic, I think I’d choose the gray if I had no previous investment in bands.

Ordered the Apple Watch Edition 42mm white ceramic case, let's see when it'll arrive. It will be my second Apple Watch along side with the original 42mm stainless steel case (WatchOS 3.2.3).

I've read that altho the Ceramic Apple Watch is durable and nearly impossible to scratch, it can shatter but does that mean it's more prone to shattering than my current Stainless Steel Series 0? i really like the look of the white Ceramic and so close to pulling the trigger with one, does anyone know what they are like for working out with? going for a run.

When I saw the white ceramic on the website I laughed at Apple, what a ridiculous design -idiots.
The pictures on this site only fed my opinion.
One day I was in Apple looking at the version 2. I frequent that particular store and there’s a few specialist that help me.
We were talking and they said “wait here”.
They came back with a display unit that they were getting ready for the display.

Once I saw it my opinion changed quickly and went to Apple.com and ordered it.

I went with the white again and love it even more having LTE

I can't recall seeing any reports of an AW Edition watch shattering.

Extremely rare that you would crack it. If you google broken ceramic watch you will see the same few pics of an IWC, Panerai, and Omega DSOTM with broken lug. I've yet to see a cracked AW online. The crystal is the only thing that tends to break. For piece of mind spend the 99 for Apple care.

Have not seen 1 case of a broken Ceramic AW. If your worried again Apple care is a good deal on the Edition. Id get it just for the crystal alone. This isn't your everyday porcelain Ceramic. The stuff is tough. Tougher then sapphire which is far easier to fracture.

Is it impossible to break? No. "But you’ll probably never experience forces that are high enough to cause fracture," Greer says. That may be true, but at $1,250 it's best to not test that theory.

This article says they are more brittle https://www.wired.com/2016/09/apples-new-high-end-watch-crazy-tough-ceramics-baby/ I also read an imore article that said something similar.

The soft white most certainly does not look or blend better with the white ceramic then the cloud. It looks terrible. The white ceramic looks amazing, but the white on white does not look good at all.

got the ceramic white from Tysons corners, its beautiful but can't justify $1428 on the watch. will return and get s3 SBSS. the different color bands just seem to work with black where the white is very limited. I usually wear my Hermes orange and it looks terrible with the ceramic white,

After a week and a half, sadly today I returned the ceramic grey. It broke my heart, but here is the situation...I currently own the series 2 white ceramic and love it, I have every sports band and a bunch of other bands and I found the grey too confining to the amount of colors I could match it with. With the white this was never a problem. The grey looks great with its original band and if that is the way you intend to wear it forever then don't hesitate buying it. I decided a better solution for me was to go with the S3 Hermes ebene deployant instead and hold onto my white ceramic S2 as my edition. Together those two will enjoy my stable of straps without conflict lol. I can usually justify all these crazy purchases but somehow I cannot justify a second white ceramic just for the S3 improvements.

As we are all obsessed I figured I'd share my 2 cents.

Cheers

The charcoal leather loop looks outstanding with the gray ceramic. I am sad to say though they no longer ship the leather loop in the plastic case like they did with my brown one last year.

Totally disagree. I enjoy the uniform look highly.

I know it’s all subjective but I couldn’t disagree more. The white case is infinitely more versatile than the black case.

This combination is indeed beautiful. I would definitely pick up the band if it came in a non-leather material.

Since I have been struggling with indecision, I think I’m just gonna order both colors. The gray is beautiful and I love the jewel-like shine. But since I sold my S2 Ceramic, I would miss not having the white anymore.

Aaaaaaaaaagh! It’s currently unavailable on the UK store, I knew I should have ordered last week! Damn it!

Wow
The orange and purple 3rd party bands are my favorites with my white ceramic

I ended up returning my ceramic after watching the video comparing the sapphire glass to a tissot. A lot of people at work mocked me for spending so much on a watch which didn’t help matters either. Not fun being mocked for wearing something you enjoy! Maybe series 4 will be on my wrist.

I am on the same boat with the mocking/judging part at work. Personally, I really don't care what other people say when I genuinely like a piece of hardware or other things. :)

Series 4 will probably use the same sapphire. Consumer reports said
It’s it’s fine and passed the scientific hardness test. You may want to consider the Tissot.

As an Hermès owner since Series 0 when you needed to go to a select Apple or Hermès store, let me compliment you on your choice. The Hermès bands are the best plus Apple has to offer, and the face is designed for a rectangular Watch. It’s too bad Apple doesn’t offer an Hermès Edition for $1,999.

I would never care, or allow somebody else to judge me based on something that I prefer to wear. It's strictly preference and the Apple Watch does serve a place in the Watch world. I think it's your money and you should be able to enjoy the Apple Watch for what it is and look past others frivolous judgement.

Totally agree, why the hell care what other people think or say? They're probably just jealous anyway!

First to return the Watch because of that one video makes no sense, but to let others influence your buying decisions is just crazy. If you loved the Watch, wear it and enjoy it.
