I was thinking that too, will decide if/when I sell my current watches lol
My advise: wait forever but that is of course a joke. If you really miss features in your current device which are available today get the updated product. Example: I had a iPhone 6s but wanted the camera from the Plus but the size of the 6. And at a sudden the X was there :)

They are burnt in a big Hermès bonfire and sacrificed to the gods...

Either that or sewn back on the cows bum
My guess, the Barenia's only, as an intelligent cow never would have a print on her arse ;)

You will see. The current design has been 4 years old. It is about time to change. The rumor is coming when it is getting closer to be announced as always.

Well, I believe there will only be a significant redesign if and when Apple crammed all tech into the current shell that they think is necessary to make the Watch complete. Mainly all-day battery life on LTE, I guess, maybe an always-on display as well. In other words, not next year. But we‘ll have to wait and see.

Apple knows they need to improve the watch design and features next year to make it more attractive to sell it. Apple Watch is like an iPhone which at some point, it will be a mature product and need to be changed on design and improved on functionalities. AW 3 is the mature 4 year old design and its design and features would be perfected in the next cycle. Failures to redesign and perfect the current features would be a loss for the sales next year.

I am keeping BOTH the Ceramic Grey and Hermes Series.
Both will be obsolete next year. Just be ready and prepared.

Or maybe the Watch is Apple‘s Porsche 911 and the design never really changes because they nailed it from the start …
Actually, Apple main product (Porsche 911 as you said it) is iPhone and this Porsche has been changed after 4 year outdated design. Apple Watch will change if Apple wants to stay competitive in Smart Watch market and attractive technology and design wise.

Apple Watch is only 2.5 yrs old. It has been updated 3 times since initial launch.
It will be eventually. You need to admit though, the design is outdated after three releases and it has matured, like iPhone 8/8+ Significant changes are needed to appeal Apple Watch fan base/coalition. It is treated as a fashion accessory beside a health tool. Fashion item needs to evolve to be more appealing, otherwise it will die. Apple knows it. Readers who bought AW 3 can justify anything they want but AW design is getting older and would loose the purchasing appeal soon especially if it does not evolve.

Whatever changes will come, the adapters will remain the same :apple:
Amen to that. I have a good size collection of bands. Fortunetly, I just bought a series 3 that should last me as long as my series 0 lasted (2.5 yrs)before battery life started deteriorating.

Or maybe it was just now, in 2017, that the ideal design of an iPhone, the one that had always been the goal, was finally achievable. This 911, the iPhone X, will stay the way it is indefinitely, minus (eventually) the notch.

Apple Watch will change if Apple wants to stay competitive in Smart Watch market and attractive technology and design wise.

Competitive? What competition? There is no competition. There is not even a smart watch market, only an Apple Watch market.

Just wait until next year. Ten more months should not be too long. Redesign watch body will be worth it.

I quite like the current design, so not really bothered waiting for the possibility of a new look. If you keep waiting for what’s around the corner you’ll never own anything. Enjoy it now, you could be waiting for something that may never happen.

I understand what you are saying. Sometimes, patience is a good virtue. I advised you to wait because I thought you returned your space gray ceramic and were planning to repurchase it. If you already repurchased it, then it was solved. If you had not repurchased it, then it would be better to wait. That was my recommendation reason.

I’m selling 2 Apple watches to fund the ceramic, so will be without a watch otherwise lol

I wish the best success of your selling the two watches and getting the ceramic. Space grey ceramic is so beautiful. I love it too. The color does fit for finance conservative business environment and professional. Glad Apple released the conservative color finally.

tl;dr — I have an Hermès orange sports strap (with a tiny flaw) for sale. I may have a very slightly used (worn for a couple of hours) Marine Gala Éperon d’Or for sale. Or, I may have a brand new Noir Gala Rallye, or an Indigo Swift, for sale. Or even an Ébène Barenia Deployment.

I know you’ve all been worried about how things are going with my many, many Apple Watch purchases and returns, so I thought I’d update you.

In last week’s episode, I had bought the Hermès again, this time with the patterned blue strap. (I can’t be bothered to learn the pretentious names of the straps. You know which one I mean.) I had also been disappointed by a trivial production flaw in the orange sports strap.

After too much effort, a replacement — and flawless — orange sports strap was sent out. Apple had confused itself so much over the whole affair, that it didn’t ask for the other one back. Which means I have a virtually perfect (“I thought you said it was defective?”) Hermès orange sports strap that I could sell.

Meanwhile, I did really like the patterned blue strap but I wasn’t convinced it actually went with the Apple Watch itself. But then the shipping times on the Feu Epsom (I remember the name of that one — it’s the textured orange leather) strap fell from 3-4 weeks to immediate. I decided this was a sign from the Gods that I should order it. So I did. It arrives on Monday, or Tuesday, depending on whether you believe Apple or DPD.

Meanwhile to that meanwhile, in a move that confirms what you’re all now thinking (i.e. that I’m nuts) I ordered a boring old space black stainless steel in the belief that it might go incredibly well with the orange sports strap. Since I now had two of these, I could keep one for the SBSS, and send the whole Hermès watch back.

Well, it turns out that it didn’t go well with it. So the SBSS is going back.

The good news is that I’m now committed to keeping the Hermès. The only remaining question is: which strap? I’m obviously hoping that I really like the Feu Epsom. If I do, I’m keeping it. Which means I’ve now got a patterned Hermès strap I don’t want. Two possibilities. I could sell it. Or, I could return it to Apple (just the strap) and exchange it for the plain Indigo strap. Why do this? Because then I could sell the brand new strap. Which you people would probably prefer to the worn-once strap. And that sale would offset the cost of the Feu Epsom.

If I don’t like the Feu Epsom, then that will go back. And I’ll swap the patterned blue strap for the plain Indigo, which is basically my last chance to find an Hermès strap I actually like with the Apple Watch.

Thank you for sharing your journey to find the right watch to settle. The journey is like a dating and courtship to find a right person to settle for a long period of time. The journey can be tedious but worth it when you find the right one. :)

I’m actually very grateful for your reply. I was expecting someone to tell me either (a) I’m insane and should be locked up for my own safety, or (b) I’m a bad person for doing so many returns and losing Apple money (I have a whole speech prepared to address that issue, if anyone raises it!).

I’m paying over £1,000 for a watch. For that money, I want it to delight me every time I put it on. My iPhone X does exactly that. Every time I pick it up, the look and the feel of it thrill me. No regrets.

I just haven’t found the right band/watch and even watchface combination that does that yet. I feel I’m getting closer, though ...

My pleasure. I totally understand your points especially with the iPhone X experience as I am experiencing like yours myself. I am looking forward to hear more your journey story and hoping you will find what you are looking for soon. I believe the moment you find it, you will experience such a great satisfaction. Patience is a great virtue.

There are return policies in place for a reason.
Sure some people abuse them. However, when dealing with an expensive product one must ensure it’s what they expected and they are satisfied.
In the long run it’s probably cheaper to absorb however much is in the return than to lose a customer. Then again based on their bank account it doesn’t appear they having to absorb a lot.
I feel the same about the watch. The white offers me more flexibility with the bands. I don’t think there is that “one” band nor do I think there is that “one” watch.

I’m trying to sell a space black link bracelet that I haven’t found a use for yet. I purchased this from a friend who also didn’t find a use for it and sold it to me in open case with cling wrapper still on the band.
I of course took the Cling off thinking I would wear the band with black scrubs. I purchased a fauve brown Hermes and a black nike sport band and have found no use for the link bracelet.
I really just use the Nike sport band at work, in the gym, then slap the Hermes on when going to dinner, or whatever in street clothes/dress.
The Hermes brown literally matches everything.
So I have no use for the black link
It’s MINT
Really never been used. Not a single scratch or flaw
Pm me if your interested with an offer.

That’s a shame. I love that combo, it’s just my arms aren’t long enough to get that kind of money out of my pocket.

Well, the only thing I can say is that watches aren't cars, or phones. The best watch designs are timeless, iconic. It might just be the case that Apple invested a lot of focus nailing a design they wanted to carry on for a very long time. Phones are a bit different in the sense that functionality shapes design, but I would say that with watches, form is the most important aspect.
