I’m debating between a ceramic and stainless steel. Not trying to rub anyone the wrong way because I really want to like the ceramic, but in every photo it just looks plasticy. Is this a case of pictures not doing it justice?
I ageee. I have one on order but I’m feeling less confident by the day

Pictures insult the beauty of the ceramic.
When seeing the first pictures hit the forum I thought it looked cheap and like a toy.
Seeing it at the store I was amazed at its appearance so much I ordered it right then.
I’ve seen ceramics on others and it subtly stands out and looks unique, surely not plastic looking.

I was also in the same boat after seeing the initial picture of the white last year, I thought it looked cheap and plastic looking. Totally the opposite impression when you see it on your wrist though.

After an ill-judged flirtation with an Hermès Apple Watch, I decided to give the grey ceramic Edition a try.

I’m absolutely thrilled with it. Classy, modern, understated, sophisticated, stylish, . . . To my surprise (given how much I loved the Hermès orange sports strap) I love the grey. I think it works incredibly well. So much so that I’ve gone with grey watch faces, too.

Pictures to follow.

Congrats. I just don’t like it. I tried several bands with it yesterday and I just can’t appreciated it. I want to but can’t.

isn't she a beaty :)

Now try:

Sportband: black, (PRODUCT) RED, midnight blue
Nike Sport band: anthracite, obsedian
Leather loop: black, charcoal grey, midnight blue.

Many happy days with this awesome watch and enjoy it :)

Both ceramic models look dope. I‘m kinda sad - and at the same time glad - that I have so many classic buckle leather bands that I couldn‘t/wouldn‘t wear with either of them because of the clashing lugs, which prevents me (and my wallet) from going ceramic. If there is ever a version that clashes less (a lighter grey perhaps), I‘ll totally have to get it.

dope they are :D

I had the grey ceramic and ended up swapping for white ceramic
The grey gets old quickly. Especially once you see that the only band that looks great is the one it came with IMO
The white actually looks better with the black link than the grey does.

Not sure if it was in this thread n]but I mentioned I would buy the SBSS before the gray ceramic.
Just think the band options are very limited.

Well the Edition in back in its box and all packed up and ready to go back to Apple.

In addition to becoming bored with its look (and the lack of ways to make it more interesting) I found the whole experience lacking in premium feel.

In principle, the Edition is Apple's flagship watch. Yet it comes in an ordinary white plastic box (not engraved on the outside like the Hermès) inside an ordinary white cardboard box (not like the lovely orange Hermès box, which is so nice that people pay big money on eBay for empty ones). Yes, you get the charging stand, but I had one of those already.

It was a lot of money for something that ultimately left me feeling flat.

My (second!) new Hermès should be arriving in the next hour or so . . .

Well so far it’s a typically frustrating Apple set-up experience. Trying to update to WatchOS 4.1, but the Watch app doesn’t think I’m connected to the internet. Which is odd because how am I posting to this thread?

Exact same situation here. Only liked grey with the band it came with, got the white, happier then a pig in s**t. Of course the crazy in me also got Hermes at the same time LOL.
