Wow the white Ceramic looks REALLY nice, i'm leaning towards getting one:D just out of interest do you guys plan on keeping your Ceramic Apple Watch's for multiple years? or do you update every year and just add your old one to a collection of some sort.

Personally i really like the look of the red dot on the White Ceramic Apple Watch, personal taste i guess but i think it looks great.

I just tried to talk the wife into a Chicago day trip but she isn't up for it....

Purchased the white ceramic just now from the Sydney Store.

Some pics below. It feels wayyyy better than it looks. So premium!

I have very few watch bands. Don’t think it goes with anything other than the white band for now. May have to invest in more bands!

Keep mine for several years. My series 2 runs great on Watch OS 4, so I don’t see a need. LTE is useless to me. Plus I spent $1500 on it, so I feel like I need to get the most I can out of it.

It sure would be nice if Apple allowed Edition owners to send their watches in for a cheap upgrade with technology enhancements. I would be sold then on spending 1K+ for a watch that would be up to date for a few years.

I agree, but they will never do it. They should stop updating watches like the do phones. A watch is so much different then a Phone. If you are going to update the Watch make a trade in program. Look at the Tag smartwatch. It does not get updated at all.

That's a good idea as well. A trade in program, especially for the flagship watches, makes complete sense.

Yeah, we are paying $1500 for a watch. Sure people buy multiple mechanical in a year, but they are different watches for different occasions. The AW is not that.

I agree. Mechanical watches are a different breed as a whole. The Submariner I purchased in 2001 is just as good as the day I bought it, and has actually gone up in value. The Sub will also never go out of style.

Agreed! I don’t think Apple has to worry about the AW going out of style. If the need to keep upgrading the internals, then make it easier for us to get the new ones.

I agree completely. I sure would love to see upgradable internal on their high end watches though, or as you said, at least offer a nice trade in deal for the next version. I would pull the trigger today on a grey ceramic with that deal.

Yeah! I would never give up the white ceramic though. I wouldn’t mind having both, but the white ceramic is by far my favorite AW, maybe watch.

I think the white is a little too flashy for me. I like the endless band options on white though.

I am just a huge fan of white and black. I think that is the best tech wise. I do agree it’s bold, but I love it!

I like the white as well, but for me, I don't think I could do it. If I wind up driving to Chicago, I will be able to make my final decision from there. For now, I think I can do a black SS and it will be fine. But if the ceramics impress me enough, I may pull the trigger.

I’m going to pick up some bands at the Apple store today. Going to try to spend a minute looking at the white ceramic.

The black SS is my second favorite AW. Looking to find a cheap black SS series 2.

I'm sure if I drive up to Michigan Ave, I will leave with that grey ceramic lol. A reason why I am resisting the drive. I'm going to sleep on it over the weekend and go from there.

Hey there Ceramic Gang! I completely understand the affection towards the Ceramic Edition and I also know that I’m speaking to a discerning group of Watch enthusiasts. I think the Ceramic Edition is gorgeous, but I just can’t bring myself to invest in it knowing that in approximately 3 years I would have to move on to another model.

I agree....I wish Apple had a trade-in program for the Edition. If they did, I would likely buy one. So for me, I’m not moving up to the Edition, but I am very happy for those of you that have one. They are certainly gorgeous watches!

Walked into the World Trade Center store just now and walked out with a white ceramic 42. Will play with it later today and see how it compares to my s2 and if it’s worth keeping. Anyone else on Verizon? How is the lte working out?

I can sort of justify the edition even though it is semi disposable. I used to be really into high end Swiss mechanicals and even though they last a long time I would end up selling them at a loss after a couple of years to get something else I liked better. unfortunately I lost as much as a few k on every watch since I hate buying used. Now I just have one mechanical I plan on keeping indefinitely. I figure I can upgrade the ceramic every new model (18 months) at about a $700 loss which is a lot less then when I was collecting mechanicals. Yes in all practicality I would just get the AL S3 but comming from Omega Dark Side of the Moon I really like the Ceramic Grey AW. Like in the Hodinkee article the quality is impeccable and as nice as a swiss ceramic costing 10k+

Not the best reasoning but whatever floats your boat. Hang onto one of those Swiss mechanicals for a bit and you aren’t losing anything.

So do we have any general consensus on how the gray and white stack up against the various bands?

It's so hard to tell even in the AppleStore what the gray ceramic looks like with those bright lights.

This is my favorite band other than the band that came with it so far. The Black and Tan somehow works.

Forgot to mention this was a cheap amazon band.
