Usually UPS or FedEx in the US. If they quoted you 9/22 when you ordered it, it will arrive 9/22.
I recommend a low-residue diet beginning today, and limit your fluid intake on Friday. They always seem to show up at your door at the least convenient moment. :D

I used the ATT live chat and asked if the Watch could be added to my unlimited plan and the CSR said yes. I was instructed to call ATT when I received the Watch. Hopefully the CSR knew what he was talking about.

Hopefully, but he could have been confused since you can add it to the new "unlimited" plans online. I guess we'll find out Friday.

As a customer with a grandfathered plan, this is how I was told they would be handling billing and usage for my Apple Watch. Here is my actual transcript:

AT&T Rep: I'm checking the account, and the phone number you told me is the one for the cellphone, and the new line for the Watch doesn't appear yet. However, may I please know if that watch was ordered via Apple or AT&T, and if you will use it as new line or if you will just do the number sync of it with your phone?
Me: I ordered it through Apple and it will sync with my phone so there is no extra line required
AT&T Rep: Perfect! So no worries because the usage of it will be under the smartphone you have
Me: Oh that's so good to hear
AT&T Rep: it will be using data through your phone with number sync, so it works that way
AT&T Rep: Yes :)
AT&T Rep: so no worries. The plan here remains the same and the usage of both devices will be under your phone

I hope people with the grandfathered unlimited plan can post updates after the receive their cellular watch. Simply having Number Sync is not the same as having an LTE connection for texting and phone calls. My iPad has Number Sync and can make calls with my number over wifi even if my phone is turned off. I guess I'm still skeptical AT&T will add the Watch to the grandfathered plan, but we shall see.

These are the only "announced" iPhone plans that are supported:

Eligible iPhone plans:
  • AT&T Unlimited Plus℠
  • AT&T Unlimited Choice℠
  • Mobile Share Advantage℠
If you want to test today, you can go through the steps to purchase the Samsung S3 and see if it is compatible with your existing plan. It is also a LTE watch. Just stop after the plan selection step.

Grandfathered customers can be a very vocal group and we should see posts as soon as they hit the activation process.

I would suggest trying the activation process on the iPhone / Watch during setup / paring steps vs calling Customer Care or going to the Corporate retail store. You don't have to actually complete the LTE activation as part of setup but you will get to see what "plan" the system wants to offer to you.

When you call or go to the retail store at least for tomorrow you are at the mercy of the randomly informed / trained rep messing up your plan until the correct process is documented.

Update from another chat with a different representative. I asked more direct questions this time:

AT&T Rep #2: The Apple watch will have a default 3GB plan which cost $30/mo but no worries, you can actually save money if you will change your plan to Unlimited choice and have the Apple watch on unlimited data $115

Me: I am absolutely not changing my plan. Why does the Watch need an extra $30?

Me: The price quoted to me was $10

AT&T Rep #2: Since the default is 3GB it cost $30/mo but once you receive the Apple watch and activate it, you can request to change the plan for the watch for 1GB and it will only be $10/mo

Me: Ok. And is there a reason that I can’t use my own unlimited data plan that I am already paying for monthly?

AT&T Rep #2: Your current unlimited data plan is a retired plan and it is only for your the smartphone line in your wireless account but you can also have the unlimited data for both if you will change or update the plan to unlimited choice

Me: No I won’t be doing that

Update from another chat with a different representative. I asked more direct questions this time:
As you might have guessed, more bad information from a Chat Agent. There is no $30 plan for the Apple Watch LTE or any other current wearable device. There is only a $10 add-on plan for LTE wearable devices.

There is something else odd about this agent's concept of how it works. I have a retired Unlimited Plan, it is not the old iPhone Unlimited Data, it is the one that was offered for a short time last Feb. just before the current Unlimited Plans were announced. I can go online and add the Samsung LTE watch or the Apple Watch LTE for $10 and the information from AT&T's own web site shows the $10 plan, with 3 months free and waived activation. A $55 value.

The only mystery is what plans work / don't work. I would bet that any plan that is $50 or more would allow for the $10 LTE add-on plan. Only have to wait until tomorrow for more clues.

I’m going to watch this thread tomorrow and see how it goes for some of you. If I can’t add it to my grandfathered plan I may stick with my Series 2 for a bit longer.

I'll be watching too. I called again and they said I could add it. ATT is always so lost. Only reason I'm still with them is the old unlimited plan and 35% corp discount.

I knew this was going to be a headache...just got my S3 Watch and will try and activate it later today.

I got mine all setup an hour ago. Unpaired my S2, restored the backup on the S3. Followed the Cellular screens, signed in to myAT&T and it was added. I have one of the older Mobile Share plans.

How much will adding the watch be to your bill with those plans? Still just $10/mo?
