Ok, will try and set it up sooner if possible. Hopefully easy to do and no issues with old unlimited Plan.

EDIT: Still waiting for UPS so I chatted with ATT support just now and they said adding the watch to my grandfathered unlimited plan would be no problem at all. :D Now it just needs to arrive...

As it turns out, it is NOT possible to add a wearable for $10 to the old unlimited data plan. After multiple sources corroborated that, I switched my plan to Unlimited Plus.

Att wouldn’t add my Ceramic watch to my unlimited plan. The watch app also says my plan isn’t supported. Quite annoying so thinking about changing plans especially since I’ll get a $25 credit for Directv.

I have a watch with LTE coming Oct-6-13. I also called AT&T and they said there is no way to add this to my grandfathered unlimited plan. It would have to be one of the new ones. So I called again, a few minutes ago and they said the same thing.

How hard did you push? Did you speak to someone or use the chat function? Thanks for the info!

I am speaking to someone right now in the chat and they said I can add it to my grandfathered plan. We will see if it actually happens...

So it looks like we can't have grandfathered unlimited data and use Numbersync. You can either add a line for the watch or go to a shared plan.

I still have the global unlimited data plan ($64.99/month) through my company that predates my iPhone but they keep letting me keep, thank god. I never even thought about the impact of this plan on my ability to add a watch. I'm still waiting for the UPS delivery so will be interesting to see how I go about activating this on the corporate plan. or not.

I just confirmed with a co-worker whose wife is with ATT that the grandfathered UL data plans will not qualify to add a wearable for $10/month. Qualified plans: Unlimited Choice, Unlimited Plus or one of the Mobile Share Advantage. Feh. I knew that plan would come to an end someday, but the ATT launch of the LTE watch seems like an epic cluster fSCK.

On the bright side, waiting for UPS gave me ample time to research plans.

I’m trying to figure out if there is still a compelling reason to hold on to grandfathered unlimited. The basic umli ited seems to have slower data than plus.

I just changed to Unlimited Plus based on what I've learned today from many different sources. They applied my existing corporate discount to the new plan and it went live immediately after a power cycle -- I tested by lighting up a personal hotspot on my phone which was never possible under the old plan.

I'm hopeful that because this is one of the supported plans for adding $10/month wearables, when the watch arrives (scheduled by the end of the day...) activation should "just work."

What are differences between the old school unlimited plan and the new $145 Unlimited Plus plan? Curious cause I may just switch.

I thought unlimited Plus was $100. I only have one phone on my nlimited plan. That’s what was thinking of switching to.

Were you able to keep your corporate discount? I had to switch to my husband’s military discount because that was the only
discount that applied to the Unlimited Plus.

Yes, my corporate discount shows up on the change summary, but says it may take a couple of billing cycles to apply the discount.

Unlimited Plus for two people is $145. Before I switch I want to know what I would be missing...

I wonder if that’s a recent change because when they first rolled it out they said only military discounts would apply. The website still says discounts don’t apply to Unlimited Choice and Unlimited Plus plans.

That was what I was told and read on the website as well.
