Severe Supply Shortages Again Rumored for iPhone 8 Due to Production Difficulties

I can't wait to take a day off to stand in line, buy 2 for $1900, then sell them for $2000 each on eBay.

Then, 3 weeks later, walk in to the Apple Store and buy the third one for $950, and use it, and use the other $1000 for flight lessons.

This is very deliberate. Increases demand in the product as well as sales of camping seats and the occasional cheap tent. Happens every time there is a new smartphone or tablet. Humans are strange creatures.

i'm personally waiting for June when hopefully we'll start seeing actual part leaks since the phone should be in production by then.

Once you have a 5s, 6, 6s or 7 you don't need a new one. Focus on more important things like putting money towards your pension plans, save for living expenses, possible health issues later in life. Yes, we live in a free market but Tim Cook and Co. has enough. It's not like lost of profits is gonna force Jony Ive to start buying from the dollar menu or Angela is gonna start shopping at Ross. Then again, we live in a free market.

The main question is: if they remove the home button, what will they do in order to simulate the "home button"?

I much more looking forward to the "APPLE, WHERE'S MY NEW IPHONE!" shrieking come September than the actual phone itself. While it probably will be very nice, I'm in no hurry to retire my i7 anytime soon.

Let me go ahead and give you a preview of the months between now and the release date for the next iPhone:

In between each of those you'll get minutely detailed forum comments disputing the previous rumor. All comments will start with "Apple said in an article last week..." Mind you, Apple won't have said anything, but we are forum members. Rarely do we let facts get in the way of a good story.

Is it me or is having a little dip at the top of the screen from those sensors a little weird?

I'm sorry, but I think the S8 does it better -- at least the bezels are even.

you need to add in the sneaky sample shot that 50% of people think is a fake but is in fact true, and the 'no way will I buy this if it has blah blah blah'

I love post like this. While you are correct, the things mentioned are extremely important. How do you know that some if not most are able to do this and still enjoy the latest and greatest. It's funny that Macrumors has become more about financial advising then about rumors on brand new apple products. guess I didn't get the memo.

Meanwhile, from Apple's very own profligate leaker. I'll just leave these here ;)

Here's my thoughts.

There's NO WAY Apple will put the "8" or "X" on sale with a 7s/7s+. No way.

The "8" will completely cannibalize the other two iterations no doubt about it. Why would Apple even think of putting them all on sale -- same date. Makes no sense.

If I were Apple I'd push as many upgraders to the 7s etc bc we all know that those of us early adopters will truly wait out any so called "delays". The net effect will also keep the "8" fresher longer --- into the quarters especially when Samesong releases its next galaxy model.

There's no news here.

To me it's all according to plan. If the 8 makes its appearance later in the year the more coveted it will be pushing stronger sales into typically slower quarters. What's the downside???

Im curious. . .if Apple were to put Touch ID on the back, why not just use the Apple logo that's already there? Certainly they could make the conductive ring in that shape, right?

Every time there's a launch I casually walk into my local AT&T store around 11am and get the exact phone I want. So far I haven't left empty handed. Once I had to get more SSD than I wanted, but I don't regret more storage.

Kuo continues to believe Apple will introduce the iPhone in September, but he suggests there's a strong possibility the device will be hard to come by for several months following its release.

This will be great, and irrelevant, because Apple keeps ruining their design and if it looks like this, there is no way I will buy.

1: Based on present rumors, not everyone can afford/will want to spend the rumored price of version "8" or "X".
2: Based on present rumors, not everyone will like the size factor of version "8" or "X".
3: Based on previous interviews (link): Apple CEO: Don’t Fear Cannibalization, Embrace It
Quote:“I see cannibalization as a huge opportunity for us,” Cook said..."
