And Its makes money.

I can't wait to take a day off to stand in line, buy 2 for $1900, then sell them for $2000 each on eBay.

Then, 3 weeks later, walk in to the Apple Store and buy the third one for $950, and use it, and use the other $1000 for flight lessons.

I used to do this with the earlier opening launches. Got lazy last year and stopped doing it. Such easy money though.

Reselling Apple Gadgets for flying instead of working the FBO ramp like the rest of us?

;)

Apple needs this phone more than I do. Quite happy with my 6 right now. What I DO NEED is a decent desktop update.

For all those wanting Cook out. Selling negative 20 million yoy might do it. Unless profit margins are exceptional for this device.

We're already into may and there are so many conflicting reports.

Conclusion: no one know what tf is going on.

I pre-ordered once and waited 3 months... Never again. Last time I walked in to a Best Buy 2 weeks after launch and found what I wanted.

I will always pre-order or buy directly from the Apple Store, if your phone needs replacing after the 2 year warranty your out of luck unless it was purchased directly from Apple.

Had my release day iPhone 6 Plus replaced just 3 weeks ago, around 18 months out of warranty.

Every year we see this same report and iPhone is released at the normal schedule

Yes, but this time, there are problems with the supply of oled from.... Samsung. Their biggest competitor.
How could apple not see this coming...
What would be worth more to samsung, a fine because they could not supply the oled panels in time, or..... releasing the note 7 , at the same time apple would release the oled iphone, and have the s8 and the note 7 steal apple' s thunder, and make apple look less innovative than samsung...
I wonder.....

Honestly for them to have shortages it is normal. If anyone is a car enthusiast on here, think of the ford raptor or bmw M2. Those vehicles are selling as fast as they are produced due to high demand or dealers allocations are all full. (I know some will say that is a lie, but the ones sitting are the dealer markups or ones with unnecessary options) These are much more expensive than an electronic too and these companies have been around longer than Apple. No company will be able to match demand for a product. Apple is producing more iPhones for launch day then they did each year, but demand is growing like crazy. Apple doesn't need the complainers as you only bring
Bad vibes.

Just like some people don't get the value of the Amazon Echo, I don't get this fascination with a bezel-less iPhone that's all glass on the front. It's praised for being somehow artfully designed but it's still just a glass slab rectangle.

Apple, take your time, embed Touch ID under the screen and release it before Christmas and I'll be happy (as others would be as well, I'm sure).
Exactly.

They will definitely place TouchID under glass. Even if that means later-than-normal delivery. With the competition's offering, under-glass TID implementation would make for a significant difference maker.

They will also announce at the same time as their other devices - which is fine. Inline with what Andy said, under-glass TouchID would make a fantastic Christmas Gift.

To keep fans amused in the meantime, here's an easy one Apple...make an iBook already. IMO, Apple is missing a "laptop for normal people/millennials". I think they should make a (fairly ho-hum) clam-shell laptop that runs a version of iOS that is customized to allow for windowed apps and is also mouse + right-click friendly. If they started it at $699 or so, I think would appeal to A LOT of people who aren't really interested in learning all the ins-and-outs of MacOS. I'd call it the iBook, and it would sell like crazy.

I wasn't interested the last time you posted this.

I really don't care. I would rather for them to get it right.
I have rarely been an early adopter accept with the first iPad in 2010.
I rear mounted Touch ID would be a deal killer for me. If they can't overcome the obstacles to embed the Touch ID in the display I will opt for the newer version of the 7 (7s?) or stick my 6 for a while longer. Android is not an option. I actually saw the Galaxy S8 and was underwhelmed at its design.

I'm confused by your post. Where has it been reported that Sammy has issues supplying panels? To be fair, I could have missed it. Besides, the volume of the Note 8 wouldn't affect Samsung's commitment to Apple at all. The Note series has more notoriety than sales. It's never been Samsung's volume mover. Samsung has already secured it's supply for the S8 which is already out, and the Note 8 is a fall debut and doesn't require nearly the volume at introduction. At the end of the day Samsung's a business that depends on customers. Pretty sure Apple is one of their largest. Probably not going to mess with that.

I wish I could get my pre-order in now. iPhone 8 is going to be almost impossible to buy for almost six months, because everything points to unprecedented demand and exceptionally slim supply. And I absolutely must have my iPhone 8 on launch day.

Yep. It'd worry me if it was actually launched on time because that'd probably mean they've stuck Touch ID elsewhere.

I predict the dog-and-pony show will highlight the OLED screen high-end version, but there will also be a lower-end version without OLED or frameless designs. At launch day, the OLED will sell out in about 30 seconds because they have about 100 of them, leaving the lesser design available (which no one wants). Then, everyone is mad that they can't get what they want (ala the Jet Black 7 Plus).
