That's because the gay scene is nearly completely geared towards sexual behaviour. I think many young gay people start to think that this is the way they fit in, because the scene is their only outlet for meeting other gay people.

It is totally like that where I live. I know it is not right, but I still can't help to think that is the only way I will meet other gay people. Thankfully I have be able to control myself for the most part and have only had one **** **** up.
I do regret remaining in the closet for so long, because most of my close friends that I now have did manage to have at-least one successful relationship, but like you said, it seems like most gays start being slutty to fit in.

Anyhow... Single and have the gay here.

Gay - Married (to a same sex partner)

And we have one child via surrogacy and in the process of creating #2. Children to be linked genetically via surrogate, and we will each be the bio father of one of them.

I am taken and straight,

however, i was surprised to see that amount of non straight votes. I think this was an interesting thread - thanks for bringing it up.

Do you get a free toaster?

Something will pop up.

So, this is confirming what I suspected in my failed attempt at a similar poll last week. Got my knuckles rapped for it.

We are way over the national average of gays/lesbians per population, which confirms my suspicions. :D

Macs are for self-assured people (as outed gays/lesbians have to be), with a creative bent (usually very intelligent), and a taste for adventure (I won't go there). ;)

I'm gay and single...but I'm not out to my parents...they would murder me...well my mom told me that she would kick me out of the house and my family would disown me....so i live a secret life:( which isn't fun, despite what people think.... I'm single and ready to mingle, so send me a message, we can talk it out haha This sounds like a personal ad....

Referring to other people's posts (i just didn't feel like quoting), I went to a rich, preppy high school, even though i wasn't rich, where no one in the whole school was out, for fear or ridicule and persecution...hence why I wasn't out haha...but when I graduated last year, two girls came out and lived life as it was just any day...partially because they were so tough they could beat anyone down...

God this is long, I'm sorry...well in conclusion, I'm gay, single and ready to mingle...thats all for now haha

In response to the promiscuity question, the single biggest complaint I have with the LGBTQ group here on campus is that they seem to only have two functions: "lectures" about sex, or crying "hate crime" the moment a slur is uttered. The first "function" is so prevalent on campus here that I think the group does far more harm than good to promote LGBTQ tolerance, especially since I am on a Catholic (albeit liberal) campus that values monogamy very highly. It seems to give homosexuals a bad name.

To be fair, though, the Catholic environment could be thought of as so stifling (although I don't really see it as stifling here, but actually quite open), that the reactions against it are that much stronger.

Well, how many Catholics do you know that are abstinent or even non-slutty? I'm only going from personal experience, but I've only met one catholic (and she was only considered Catholic because her parents were) that wasn't an extreme slut, guys included.

But yeah, it definitely seems like gay guys are really promiscuous and girls are really monogamous, especially in the media.

I'm gay and single but you all knew that already.:D:cool:

^ I just had to post that.:D

Congrats! That's so cool! :)

When I'm ready to have kids, I might want that or adoption, but it's nice to know that the option is out there and waiting for me and anyone else who wants it.

Gay and Single looking for a boyfriend and not a hookup. :D

Ain't that the truth.

It's surprisingly hard to find even if you're straight, and when you're gay it's ten times harder.

Oh yeah, I'm gay and single.
