has anyone actually dropped there phone with the neo on? im curious as to how it will take a small drop.

It seems like its really fragile too. I saw someone post that they broke the bottom piece removing their phone from the charger.

any thoughts on how it will hold up to some light abuse.

In anticipation of replacing my 3g iPhone, I ordered the SGP Neo Hybrid EX case [Yellow] when I read here that they would be back in stock this month.

For anyone who's interested, I'll share the ordering history from order to product receipt and any notable issues, pics, etc.

So far...
:apple: Oct. 3 - Payment submitted via PayPal
:apple: Oct. 3 - Order received and confirmed by SGP

I checked with SGPstore site and Cretouch store, and both are on pre-orders right now for the second time. They said their 1st pre-orders are shipped for this Friday, and for their 2nd pre-orders for next Friday. If I end up buying the Neo Hybrid, I would have to wait a lil longer. T.T

I got a shipping notice from Cretouch today for my SGP Neo Matte Hybrid. It wasn't supposed to ship until the 15th so I'm pretty happy that it looks like I'll be getting it a couple of days sooner than I expected.

Where did you guys order them from? According to sgpstore.com, nothing is shipping out until the 25th of this month, and it's stated that for several days now.

From their store. It was listed as out of stock for awhile and now they're back in stock and shipping (supposedly) within a couple days. Screenshot is taken while typing this reply.

Ah. That one. I want the one with the closed back. All the rest are listed as pre-orders for the 10/25 shipment. It allows you to add to cart, but if you look down the page a bit where the "add to cart" button is, you see the "pre-order for first 500 units" or something to this effect. Again, this isn't on the red Apple bumper clone you show, but on all the rest of the open and closed back models.

I just also put in an order for the EX (Dante Red). I have the Neo Hybrid but after a couple of weeks the silicone back starts to sag. It's not bad or visible but the way I hold my device (I am not holding it wrong ;) ), I can feel the "give" in the material.

I really like the styling and the fact that all my docks and connectors fit the case so I will give the EX a try.

The silicone back sags?! What's up with that? I thought it was supposed to be really tight.

Don't know. It was really tight for the first few weeks I had the case. I even took the case off and re-installed it. Same thing. I am little disappointed because I really like the case. The fit and finish on every other part is just fine, prompting me to pick up the EX.

Has anyone else with a Neo Hybrid (non-EX) experienced this issue?

That's very disappointing to hear. My Neo Hybrid Matte in Satin Silver should be here within the next few days so I'll really hope mine doesn't have the same problem. SGP has a lifetime warranty but I'm not sure if I'm going to be covered since I ordered from Cretouch. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I don't have the sagging issue.

how is this case with the screen protector? Does it lift up the edges like some of the other cases do?

AS far as I can see from the website, there is nothing to protect the back of the phone. What do you use? I have no issues with the front as the package comes with their crystal protectors.

I am thinking about the Matte ones, though because of the back protection.

Rgds

Received my satin silver EX today. Installation was a lot easier than I expected. Pretty much a tight bumper case. It's pretty minimal but not the thinnest bumper case I've used. I don't have my Apple bumper with me at the moment but it seems about the same size. The buttons (sleep, volume) are a bit disappointing since they have seams through the middle. They are also made of black rubber with silver paint on it. The Apple bumper is definitely higher quality. If I got any colorway available in the Apple bumper I'd be disappointed because it's basically the same price (Free ultra crystal front/back protectors however I already have Power Support ones on). I like the look of the silver though. As long as paint doesn't chip/scratch off and doesn't loosen up I think I'll be content.

Oh, wow! You already received yours? So are you thinking there might be a possibility of the paint coming off?

I can't say for sure but I think it's definitely possible if you scrape the brim piece against something abrasive. I think the buttons for sure are bound to fade over time from repetitive touching/pressing. Not a big deal because I think if it was just black rubber it'd look better than the cheap paint.

I compared it to my Apple bumper and it is a bit slimmer all around. It also fits much better. It's nice and snug all around. The cutout is pretty much the same as the Apple bumper (outer opening) and doesn't fit any of my 3rd party chargers (retractable, old slim head, and itrip). However this seems to be a limitation of the dimensions of the iphone. If the port was any bigger the material around it would be hair thin and even more fragile than it already is.

I currently have the Neo Hybrid and it does fit with both the Lexus integration kit plug and the Radio Shack iGo charging plug. The Apple bumper did not work with either.

Love my EX. Best bumper case I have used so far.

I have had the silver on since it came out. Very little wear. Dropped a few times, even on cement. No phone damage and little case damage.

I just received notification that the others I preorded have shipped! New colors!

I like the fit better than the Apple bumper, since the EX doesn't lift up screen protectors as much.

And, to prevent damage to the back, I have a white replacement I purchased on eBay.

Good luck - hope you get the Neo you want. I was in the first pre-order 500 group but never received a shipment confirmation today. Sucks. Tried contacting them but these people simply ignore customer inquiries. Frustrating. Don't know why we put up with this nonsense!

I also pre ordered with the first group as well and never received a shipment confirmation. When I logged on to their site today and checked the order history, it said the case shipped on the 14th, but there is no tracking number.

I ordered on the 4th and received a shipping confirmation on the 6th. It didn't arrive until the 14th. I'm pretty sure the shipping confirmation only shows that they created the shipment with USPS (e-shipping). Cretouch is driving distance from me. Seems like they were stalling time until the shipment actually comes.

So would it be safe to asume that the dock and headphone openings on the EX are more compatible with 3rd party adapters than the Apple bumper?

For the dock, yes. Not quite sure for the headphone adapter. My Klipsch s4i's just barely fit.
