Well, I am finally sober enough to install my new EX back film. It went on without a hitch and is barely even visible. You really have to look for it to see it.

No more blue images with the flash. I'm happy.

How long did it take to receive your films? Did anyone choose a different type of shipping to get them faster? I want to order one but am going on vacation Sunday the 11th and would like to be able to get them before I leave. I know shipping is never guaranteed, but just wanted to hear how long it took you all to receive your SGP film sets?

My experience is not a good judge of the shipping time as I live about 75 miles away from them. USPS pickedup my package on Friday and delivered it Saturday.

I ordered on Sunday and got it wedenesday. I went with the middle shipping option. They shipped the film on Monday. I'm in Miami and i think they are in Cali

Hi everyone, i actually ordered the EX full body films. Do you think that i will get the one precut for the flash? Also, did anyone experience any problems with the back not sticking down around the camera? I heard that there were some problems with the front film not sticking around the home button and the speaker. Thank you.

So whats the deal with the front anti fingerprint matte shields, do they have cutouts for the camera now, does anyone have a photo with one installed?

I emailed SGP on sunday regarding an issue with my ultra crystal films that wont stick around the home button and ear phone.

Still havent heard back from them. Bueler? Bueler?

i ordered last friday and still haven't gotten a shipment notification, what's going on? i've already been charged through paypal too. can anyone confirm how long it took SGP to ship after they ordered?

I went with the Ultra Crystal EX.

Ive installed these things a million times. and even after going thru both the included protectors that came in the package, I couldnt get the area around the home button to stick.

I did everything that is recommended when installing these things. I clear on the screen, compressed air, and did it in a steamy bathroom to lessen the risk of getting dust under the protector.

Both the ear phone and home button have issues. For now I am going to keep it, it was only $11.99, and then when the power support protectors come out, I will order that one.

See pictures below. PS it did this before I put the Belkin Grip Vue case on. No matter what I tried it wouldnt adhere correctly. I even tried taking it off and reapplying but still no luck.

It almost looks like when they made the cut outs for the home button and ear phone, they distorted the plastic, and thats why it wont adhere. You can clearly see a line around the entire earphone.
Maybe over the next few days it will cling better to the phone, but i doubt it will .

Had the same issue with mine. I had to 'massage' it with a little pressure with my nail in a circular motion and the home button and earpiece for about 10-15 minutes before it would adhere to glass. Now it looks pretty good :D

I ordered Saturday and I got no sort of confirmation. I'm on the other side of the state, and usually I can get packages the next day. But I don't even know if they shipped it.

I also had areas around the ear phone and home button, but a lot of work with the squeegee wrapped in the free cloth managed to get them all out to a perfect finish. At first I really didn't think it would happen as they kept returning after I thought they were gone, but I tried different directions and in the end had success :)

Really happy with the shield, almost makes the name 'invisible shield' sound like false advertising, as you really don't know this one is on unlike some others

I hate to say it but I'm not surprised that you guys are having issues with SGP. I had orderd their Anti-Fingerprint films for my 3gs a while back and had an issue where the film would not lay flat around my home button. I emailed them about it and explained how I when I took out the shields I kind of thought I might run into that problem but decided to try to install it anyway. Their response? I shouldn't have tried to install it. They refused to offer a replacement or a refund and I vowed to never do business with them again. I have to admit that I have been tempted to order from them since PS is so slow to come to market with their shields but I'm glad I haven't. I have Bodyguardz to hold me over (just installed it last night and I'm waiting a couple days for the bubbles and imperfections to disappear) and I will most likely order from PS anyway since I loved their old Anti-Glare protectors. Their shields are simply the best - never an issue with quality or installation and I like the static cling aspect of their shields.

SGP has a huge selection and their products look like they would be great but their customer service stinks.

This is very promising news about fixing the area around the home button and ear phone. I will work on it tonight and report my results

I still have not heard back from SGP regarding an exchange. Their customer service department must be located in Iraq.

Im just waiting for the PS protectors to come out, never had any issues with them in the past.

And for those asking about shipping, i ordered my front screen protector from SGP on a sunday, and monday morning I got a shipping tracking email.

Ok here are some snaps after the install, and also the reason for the install. Also there are download links to full res versions if you want to get really close :D

A bit of a long post, but hopefully will help some having issues around speaker and the home button.

One sunny day I looked down at me new iPhone and saw something indescribable.... a scratch!! :(

The Scratch - Close Up

The scratch did bug me, but I accepted it, just would of rather it was on the back.... where it is the only place it should of had a chance of being after the way I wrapped it in cotton wool... but oh well, I must protect it from more!

Initially I purchased an invisible shield which I only planned to use on the back, and a griffin matte front. They were in a 'Buy 1 get 1 half price' deal.... But I really couldn't handle the matte after an hour or so, they didn't have anything else, and I wasn't putting the other anywhere near the front of the Retina display after a previous 3GS experience and seeing the back orange peel effect.

So a bit of research lead me to this thread, I knew the 'Power Support' shields weren't available as yet, and I had heard of issues with the 'SGP' shields, but I also heard a lot of good about the Crystal fronts. So off to ebay, ordered, then it arrived.

The install went a bit dodgy at first, the home button got itself stuck under the shield as it didn't separate properly, and before installing I could see that the speaker and home button displayed a slightly ringing which I thought might lead to problems others have had. Anyways, sorted the home button, no air bubbles... other than all around the left side of the speaker, a bit on the right, and then around the left side of the home button. There was a bubble and then a ring a bit past the bubble, it seemed no matter how much I tried they just kept coming back :(

I put the bumper on and was going to accept them for now, and then go with a 'Power Support' set once they arrive, but the OCD kicked in a bit, and the bumper was removed...

I wrapped the squeegee in the little free cloth, and started working the bubbles in different directions, took about 15 - 20 minutes, but the bubbles and lines I couldn't get rid of previously I managed to work them out... well happy :D

Well time for some pics....

The Invisible Shield is staying on the back for now as I know it does a great job at protecting, and I'm really happy with 'SGP' on the front, unless you really look for it, you don't know it's there, the clarity is superb....

So if you have some bubbles, I admit mine weren't quite as bad as pictures in this thread, but they were the same kind of bubble and line effect... So give it another go, and hopefully you'll have some joy.

Cheers

Giz

p.s. when I took the pics I did notice the slight effect underneath the speaker, but you can't see it normally (marco lens used for photos), and I'm not tampering anymore :D

Is that a Crystal protector? It looks almost matte in your shots. I'm looking for one that doesn't have a lot of reflective glare and still not as matte as the PS anti-glare that would obscure the retina display resolution.

I hope there was some sort of backup with USPS over the 4th, as I only live about 50 miles away from where they ship these things, and I ordered on the 1st and it still isn't here.

This is very promising news.
I will try and massage the areas tonight.

The area is still the same as it was when I first installed the film.

It's the Crystal, I previously had a 'Griffin' matte on, it took so much away from the Retina display, and any sort of side viewing and the display disappeared.

Putting this screen on was like getting my phone back :D

Maybe it appears a matte look because the screen is off in a few shots and the bokeh effect due to the shallow depth of field in the shots.
