If I were to remove the SGP screen protector would this affect the oleophobic coating on the front and back glass? Maybe peel some of it off? Perhaps less than a protector applied with solution...since these are static cling.

I wouldn't worry about peeling off the oleophobic coating on your screen. It's supposedly baked into the glass or something to that effect so it's really a part of the glass rather than just a coating added on top of the glass. You won't peel it off by taking off your screen protector. I'm sure you can wear down the oleophobic coating somehow but screen protectors are safe.

Yeah, I used an xacto knife to 'fix' the older back films without the flash cutout.

PS: Do you mind doing a test of the Ultra Clear vs. Oleophobic vs. Bare Glass for fingerprints? I'm debating ordering an extra set of the anti-fingerprint fronts if they're a huge jump from the Clear.

I would really love to see this as well! Oleophobic sounds awesome, but if it's at all less clear than the ultra clear, then I won't ge getting it.

Does anyone know if any stores like Best Buy, etc, will be selling these or is this just an online thing?

Ebay too with free shipping. I'd actually rather buy from ebay rather than SGP directly - that's how bad their customer service is.

So I'm in the market for a screen/back protector for my iPhone 4 (plan to use in conjunction with bumper for side protection).

Here's my question:

Is it safe for someone who has no experience installing screen protectors to order the SGP EX Ultra Crystal and expect excellent results?

I'll be totally honest: I'm not the best in the world when it comes to super-fine-motor skill stuff or painstaking projects... Combine that with the fact that I'm also extremely OCD, and it's a terrible combination.

I'm worried that worst-case I'll ruin my phone somehow, or best case I'll be dissatisfied with how it looks. Like personally, I wouldn't be satisfied if there are any bubbles or imperfections, or if the display doesn't look almost-as-good as without the protector.

Could anyone who has had success (or not) with this product comment on whether it seems like the right choice for me? And, if not, suggest an alternative? Maybe I should just use the bumper and forget the protector entirely? I dunno,...

If you are going for the bumper and screen/back protector combo, why not use Power Supports' crystal screen protector. It has no adhesive on it and it's a hard glassy feel as opposed to that rubber bs that other skin companies use. You can't even notice the difference between a naked iphone and an iphone with power support crystal shields.

do you guys know if the side cutouts near that go over the antenna are supposed to act like a bumper?

these invisible shields are supposed to act like a bumper right?

Cool thanks for the tip. Is the Power Supports protector front/back or just front though? Looking on their website it appears to be front-only.

I emailed Power Support asking whether or not they will have front and back protection, this is how they responded:

It looks like eventually they will have back protection. It's unclear on their website though as to when. I'm thinking late July, early August. Even though the rep. gave me a July 7, 2010 date, I couldn't find this anywhere on their site...

The invisible shields are used to protect the device from scratches. Some "full body shields" claim to have solved the lower left bar drop, but I can't confirm this.

If they plan to release their front and back film together as a set I'll just wait for that and leave the Steinheil on.

Thanks for the info... I was thinking BSE for back, PS front and bumper for sides, but maybe I'll just wait on the PS front/back set.

From my experience with temporarily having on the Wrapsol film, the rubber film doesn't stop the 20db signal loss. In bad areas I've seen the bars drop. But then again, I've made calls with no bars just fine lol. Too be fair, in Anandtech's testing, there's still attenuation with a case on(so going by how many bars you lose is kinda iffy).

I just got mine this morning and finished installing it. The only issues I had with it was some very slight lifting along some edges(thankfully not around the speaker or home button). It's hardly noticeable, but I'm working on massaging them out still and it's helping.

Also the side pieces are a rubbery material and if you're not careful they will stretch out. I kinda wish they made the sim card and power switch pieces as one, because my adjustments made them stretch out and overlap. Though I'm not too concerned over the side pieces because I don't really mind if the aluminum get's scuffed in my pocket, I was more concerned about the glass getting scratched(or cracked with a drop).

The screen has a bit of resistance when using my fingers compared to w/o a film on, but it doesn't bug me as much as the feeling of the rubbery films out there. Otherwise, this looks as good and was just as easy to install as all the PS films I've used over the years. The fact that they include tape, a squeegee and are shipping already is a huge plus. The only downside other than the side pieces is their customer service. I only found out mine was shipped because I logged into the site to see it was marked as such, however they never gave me a delivery confirmation number or anything, even after I asked.

I'm pretty happy with it overall though. I'd only recommend this(and most screen films anyways) to people who know how to do it. I've been doing this since the earlier iPods, when Power Support didn't even have packaging yet and had a tiny table at MacWorld, and since then I've mastered the steamy bathroom/air duster/microfiber cloths combo. I think if Power Support releases a back film, there's will be better because in the years I've used them, I never had lifting that wasn't caused by dust or oil.

Now all I need is the Poddities strap and my iPhone 4 will be all set.

Oh really? That's good news. I plan to pre-order next week then but since I've never used PS before I hope it's not a bunch of hype. I'm pretty satisfied with how the steinheil looks on my phone so if the PS is even the slightest clearer with proper cuts --I'll be golden.

So if I would like a screen protector which feels as close to the real screen as possible without sacrificing screen clarity. Which one should I get, the "Steinheil Ultra Crystal" or the "Power Support Crystal Film Set"?

I've compared the Power Support crystal for the 3G/3GS next to the Steinheil Ultra Crystal. Power Support's is 100% clear whereas the Steinheil was only about 90%. You can definitely tell. That's why I'm waiting for Power Support to ship theirs. Hopefully they'll live up to expectations.

Has anyone gotten the updated anti-glare that has the front camera cutout? If so, your thoughts and pics of the screen would be appreciated!

It'd be nice if someone could cover a screen in half with an SGP and PS. I got the Ultra Crystal today and next to a naked iPhone 4 I couldn't tell the difference. The cut could be better though.

Received my order with products missing..

is there any phone ## to contact this company rather than sending an e-mail?? i ordered a leather skin guard and received it today....but only received the clear screen protector and not the leather skin guard!! the package said it included the leather piece as well as the crystal screen protector.

has this happened to anyone else????

My carbon back came in this morning.
