I have no problem being an ass.
Clearly. Ive worked in retail during the holidays and people get super nasty but when you call out someones appearance instead of their behavior you perpetuate a negative prejudice and make a lot of people uncomfortable besides just the person you had an immediate issue with. Its pretty stupid.

how confident are you in this?
I had luck finding an iPad Pro LTE model at 7:30 friday when they were sold out in NYC and then I had luck finding pencils at around 12:30pm the other day. Apple gets multiple shipments per day and the people don't always have complete information on the stock.

It's a descriptor. I'm freakishly tall at 6-foot-seven. I would have no problem with someone saying "there was this weirdly tall guy buying a Keyboard." People are waaaay too sensitive nowadays. And by the way, I only said the ugly thing to get a rise out of you. Couldn't resist.

Anyway, just checked all three Apple Stores in Wisconsin and no stock.

Sent Tim an email about the bad Apple Retail Store experiences during my Apple Pencil hunt last Sunday and received this from one of the store today...Honestly it's a little bit disappointed to see store manager decided to show goodwill in this way and I didn't take the offer since I already got mine yesterday.

This is something I don't get... How do they get "multiple shipments per day?" UPS/FedEx doesn't usually go to the same business/home multiple times per day...

Really? They keep telling me they don't have any. I literally just asked them.

Depending on who you talk to... so frustrating one say no they other says yes. It was earlier today the person I talked to said they only got 4 in today... who knows.

It must've been much earlier in the day. I assumed you meant you had literally just received it.

Bought my Pencil in Dallas at Knox St Apple Store today at 2:30 p.m. I called around 1:30 p.m. They would not confirm stock, but they encouraged me to come to the store.
I was at Knox at 3pm, you must have gotten the last one. Went to North Park and they were in the process of putting them out on the shelf when I arrived. Snagged one and cancelled by on line order.

I'm sorry I caused you an extra stop, but I'm glad you found one! It's completely worth it!

Left Arden Fair Mall around 1:30pm nothing in stock and Roseville Galleria just prior had not received an as of today, Arden yesterday had 30 and sold out very fast. Some of the staff seemed very knowledgable and helpful some had no clue.

I want to say thanks to
Bad.Hat.Harry
for contacting me with a extra Pencil. He just made my day and will make my next 4-6 weeks of training go by a little smoother.
Im looking forward to using this not only for pleasure but also my training. They give us a Microsoft surface but I'm looking forward to using my pro and pencil.

Good luck everyone it really does look as if it is very random not only on the store but how many each store is receiving.
You're welcome! I didn't want to just return it to the store and I love that I was able to help out a fellow MR member. Let us know how it works out for you.

Yeah, this is getting a little nutty.

For those of you that have managed to score one, is it the "stylus to end all styli" or....not a big deal? Do you feel like your IPP has some steam now, or, not so much?

I'm really trying to figure out if it's worth the Pencilgate hype or not. : /

If it makes you feel better you're missing out on some early adopter issues with 3rd party software and their implementations of the predictive touch API which is causing pressure sensitivity errors (erroneous thick start of stroke).

I'd say it's quite impressive, but the software is in emergency catch up mode right now if you venture outside Notes. A different example is that Sketchbook has implemented pressure sensitivity, but has no way to disable all the old speed-based brush dynamics for touch painting, which makes it mostly unusable.

I went into my local Apple Store in London Ontario Canada this morning about 40 minutes after they opened. They had just received three Apple Pencils and Smart Keyboards. I picked up one of each. I'm really liking the feel of the keyboard.
