i always assumed that meant the 19th (7 days from yesterday)

Nope...that's why the article title says Shipping Estimates for iPhone 6 Pre-Orders Slipping to 7-10 Days

----------

I will never buy a phone over 4,8''. The note 3 and so the iphone 5,5 look like a clown's accessory which match his shoes and bow tie. I don't care about how much better the specs of the bigger phone are, aesthetics is #1 to me and a good design will always be about proportion, it does not matter if cyclically exaggeration is trendy.

That being said, I understand everyone have different tastes and most of them awful :D

Apple haven't released a 4.8" iPhone. Also the iPhone 5 is 4".

Yes but it has released a phone which is not over 4,8

They have, it's the 5.5" iPhone 6 Plus.

For me the iPhone 6 Plus is too large anyway, having seen the videos it looks ridiculous in someone's hand...far too big in my opinion.

I was saying that they have released a phone which is not over 4,8 so I'm talking about the 4,7 iphone 6 which is the one I'm buying.

The 6 plus looks just ridiculous, that is what I was saying, I can't avoid thinking about clowns (literally) when I see that kind of phones.

Sounds like someone didn't order the 6+ in time and is now stuck post-rationalizing their order. Good luck with that buddy. Also in terms of proportion the two phones are essentially the same...I believe your issue is that of scale not proportion. Now, please stop degrading others based on their personal preferences. You are right we all have different tastes...now leave it at that.

You wouldn't degrade Hitler for having race preference?

****ing stupid.

There are good reason why people make the right decisions. If you want a brick of a device; their were plenty of other options.

Just order store pick up! I just checked in New York and you are still able to pick up on the 19th with the 6 plus.

I've got large hands, the 4.7" is a minor upgrade from the 5. 6+ is definitely for me. No problem using it in one hand.

I feel lucky, got a 64GB 6+ Gold delivered 9/19 through the Apple Store app on my Gold 5S. Just grabbed my phone and randomly decided to use the app to order. Lucky choice.

Not bothered about current trend all I know is I wanted a larger phone and was personally gone to jump ship to get one but Apple announced the larger phone so I don't have to. I couldn't care less that Apple said big phones were stupid a few years ago, a few years ago I agreed with them but times change.

If Apple in their hubris had stuck to their guns how many people would have jumped ship. Then Apple could say despite reduced profits they stuck to their principles. People dictate the market and any company that ignores that won't be in business for much longer.

According to Apple, response to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus was "incredible," with the company setting a new record for overnight pre-orders despite pre-order hiccups.

Dark Helmet (in 2016): Response is too low, what is past "incredible"?
Spaceball: "Well, there's stupendous, astronomical, and ludicrous responses."
Dark Helmet: Let's go for a Ludicrous Response!

Barfolomew: What was that?
Lone Star: They've gone plaid.

Still can't believe anyone would want to carry one of these phablets in their pocket all day. Sigh. I want my phone to rock and to NOT feel it. Minority I guess. Sad day for me.

Why is it a sad day for you? If you don't like a phone with a large screen then don't buy one. Why do you care what others own? Why does it upset you?

I think it's great that Apple followed Android and released a phablet. Just by judging from this site, other websites, and the quickly depleted stock the + is going to be a big seller for them. Why does it bother some people so much? Are they upset because a lot of people like big phones and they don't like people having different taste? Are they secretly in love with big phones, but have toed the Apple corporate line on small screens for so long they can't let it go? Or are they people who loved to poke fun at Android phablets, but can't do that anymore?

The whole thing about a person thinking they have "taste" while no one else does is so arrogant and self centered. Buy the size you want and don't worry what others do.

With your picture there, if they had a cellular chip in an iPad for phone calls, I'd buy that. The last time I had a phone to my head on a regular basis was 1998. I've had headphones ever since.

Radio shack has historically charged $50 more for full price iPhones.

I called the one in Charleston, SC, and they had this thing where you buy a $50 Radio Shack gift card, your name gets on a list, and when it comes in, you use it for that iPhone.

I asked him how many orders they had, and he said, "none." (They had the 4 major networks they match the phone to)

Unfortunately, they don't have the Space Grey 128GB iPhone 6+ on order, or they'd get my business. :(

Heard that Apple allocated 2X the number of iPhone 6s to the Chinese market then that of the U.S. market place and then the Chinese government stop Apple from selling them! That why the shortage. They are all in Chinese warehouses for the Chinese buyers. Most are iPhone 6 Plus phones. LOL!

I guess, Apple felt that the U.S. market was not as important as the Chinese market; but did not see that the Chinese government has the power to stop Apple sales. I read further on this; and Apple is trying to negotiate away to sell it but there is no give by the Chinese government! Apple should just take the half of the stock and re-language them and sell them here - where there is a shortage of supply!

Lots of debate over size 6 vs 6P! Basically why Apple chose to do both versions, there's clearly desire for both. What suits one person doesn't suit another. So regardless what you've preordered don't feel the need to discredit other peoples choice for choosing the larger or smaller size version compared to yours :roll eyes:

Anyway - Just thought I'd share my experience pre-ordering in the UK ... Apples site was very intermittent ('Back soon' and slow loading) so I quickly gave up there, carrier EE's site was less than intermittent to the point where they just shut it back into maintenance. Phones4U took pre-orders but the upfront payment failed as 'declined' every time - I rung my bank and they said it was a processing error from the merchant side. So I then tried Carphone Warehouse whose site was instant and the preorder seemingly made without a problem, but when I called them as i got no confirmation email all they were doing was queuing orders to process "sometime in the next 48-72 hours" so I cancelled my order as I wanted some sort of guarantee.

Anyway after all this it was about 5 hours after pre-ordering opened. Mobile network Three tweeted they would start pre-orders late PM UK time (around 14 hours after official preorders), so I waited and ordered a 64gb iPhone 6, no hassle, arriving on launch day. And Three now ship all their phones carrier unlocked since Jan 2014 (states so on their site), good deal all round and confirmation emails etc. all followed through within 15 mins.

So overall Three had the most managed/working pre-order in the UK from my experience and still have the 128GB iPhone 6 available to order for launch day arrival (all other models go 6 & 6P around 3-4 weeks estimates). Just thought it might help anyone in the UK still looking where to order from if they want a 6 on launch day. :)

a bit of a let down...

I realize that this is complaining about first world problems... but here goes...

I got up at 2:58 am est, could not log into Apple or AT&T at all.

Finally AT&T at 3:30 am e.s.t I ordered a 6 for my wife and 6+ for me.

Even after only 35 minutes - we get a delivery date of 7-10 days for hers and 3-4 weeks for mine. Seriously - after only 35 minutes?????

Hopefully they come earlier. :/

I agree in regards to size selection.

I am upgrading from the 4S, so missed the screen size improvement of the 5/5S. I was tempted to buy a 6P, only because I currently use both my 4S and an iPad mini and was tempted to have one device for all. 4S is too small now for all day use IMO.

I agree that there will be a lot of people who would not have seen or held the 6P in person, who will order one. It is HUGE compared to my 4S, even the 6 is quite a bit more less pocketable for me and I am a tall person with big hands. The main issue for me (and probably for many others) is not how it fit's in my hand, but how it fit's in my pocket. When I say 'fit' I do not mean the physical ability to fit it in a pocket, but to be comfortable with it in a pocket.

Having it in your pocket going to work, is different to having it in your pocket on a night out, or at the gym / beach etc.

In short if you need a go everywhere phone, then perhaps a 6P is not for you.

Many people will not realise this until they unbox… ;)

I agree wholeheartedly. There are many circumstances when I would like to be able to surf and watch videos on a larger screen so the 6P is tempting. But there are also many times I want to throw my phone in a horizontal holster to keep my pockets free (like when wearing dress pants at work), or I often simply throw my phone in my shirt pocket. I too got caught up in the 6P frenzy (10/16-10/21 date), but I have been concerned I'll not be as to comfortably throw it in a shirt pocket, and I'm pretty sure a horizontal holster would look and feel rediculous.

I have 5 off contract members on my account so I also preordered a 6 to arrive 9/19. I plan to go to the store on 9/19, check out the two models and see how manageable the 6p really is. I'm hoping the decision be obvious for me after getting hold of both. Ok hope I will be able to comfortably decide that either the 6p is just too big, or I can adjust to the new real estate and be able to enjoy surfing on a larger screen.

If I decide on the 6 it will already be at my doorstep. If I decide on the 6P I will either wait a few more weeks or possibly get lucky and find one available at the store.

This all would have been much easier for Apple and it's customers if they would have given us some disay models ahead of time. Probably would have avoided all the double orders like mine and cancellations. But I guess they really don't care if people cancel-it's a pain for the sales reps, but Apple will get to report the huge preorder numbers, even though many will be cancelled.

So that's my plan anyway...

Three phases hereby predicted:
1. You will get over it.
2. You will get used to it.
3. You will get one.
