Ships by July 14nd" - Now Prepared for Shipment!

Our phones must be in the same shipment. My status changed last Friday morning, my contract renewed itself yesterday, Apple charged my card and I got the same seemingly pointless email from AT&T.

I'm glad the phones are (possibly) shipping sooner than expected, but I wish apple wouldn't change the status to PFS so quickly. In my mind, when it's prepared for shipping, there is a stamp on the darn box and it's on a dock waiting for Fedex. Like a kid on Christmas morning, I just want my stuff!

Yeah I feel like their teasing me with all this. They renewed my contract yesterday, saying i'm not eligible for a upgrade until 2012. So I figured I would get the shipping notification today, and end up with nothing.

My card has been charged and the contract has been renewed since yesterday. Still prepared for shipment. I love how they can find the time to take the money, but can't send the phone.
 
I just got an email from AT&T thanking me for choosing AT&T and the iphone. Says stuff about accessing the CSS. Not sure if I got this because of ordering the iphone 4 (good sign I suppose) or it's just an update (they still think I'm using my 3G).

Yeah I received the same email 30 mins ago. Don't know if I can take this as a good sign or not.

i'm right there with you. i think i remember you from the ordering debacle? (cannot complete setup online?) - this whole process has been frustrating to say the least. especially when the guy from work who hated the iphone got his today and i was the one who convinced him to get one. oh well.

Yup, that's me! This whole process has been awful for me. I just want my phone!
 
I ordered my phone on the 30th of June and it shipped today from Fort Worth TX via next day air. It is due to arrive tomorrow via fedex by 430pm.
 
it'll be overnight, keep mind china is almost a full 12 hr flip from us if you are refreshing your order page at noon you are wasting your time, no one ships things out at midnight :) not even sweatshops.. I checked it before I went to bed at midnight and it had not shipped but when I woke up at 4am it was shipped and was en route to alaska by 7 am, by around 3 it was in alaska and flying to who knows where (all times PDT)
 
hmmm so i have a hold on my card which is set to expire tomorrow maybe thats when my phone will actually ship. anyone else have a hold on their card?

Apple actually charged my card, too but my ship date is at the end of the month. This isn't that first charge to check my account, but the actual charge. Does this mean I'll see my ship date change too since I thought they only charge when they ship.

I'm on Day 4 of "prepared for shipment" ... along with others here, I'm sure.
June 16, 8:02 pm order (after countless failures on June 15 and most of June 16).

But the bumper has made it to Alaska!
 
Mine has been prepared to ship for 4 days now, and I'm contemplating ordering through AT&T at this point and just returning the other one to apple once I get it. I'm actually not in a real rush to get the phone, but I want to do the activation trick for unlimited data before they close that loophole! I bought a 2G off of eBay for that sole purpose, and I'm afraid by the time I get my dang phone, it'll be too late. :(

hopefully tonight (mid-day china) these phones will get movin'!
 
I ordered through the phone ATT on the 29th. Mine still says backordered. When should I expect it to ship?
