Cool campus. Enjoy the sun! ☀️Pretty sunny also here in my city, Parma, N-Italy at the university campus! 15 degrees C. 👍 Bye!
That face is SO pretty! I was seriously tempted to upgrade my 6 just for that face alone.Going to be 81° F & sunny here in Charlotte, NC USA today and I’m feeling colorfully Prideful

It is absolutely one of my all-time favorites and helped make the decision to move on from my 4 an easy one. That face is SO pretty! I was seriously tempted to upgrade my 6 just for that face alone.
Agree if there wouldn‘t be that very, very ugly AOD watchface. It destroys everything. It is absolutely one of my all-time favorites and helped make the decision to move on from my 4 an easy one.
You can turn AOD off.Agree if there wouldn‘t be that very, very ugly AOD watchface. It destroys everything.

Call me entitled but I’m expecting WWDC to bring a complete break from this “AOD shrinks down” languageI’m pretty sure they’re referring to how unreadable the AOD version of this face is. The numbers get so skinny that you cannot read them.
It‘s not only that. I don‘t like how the numbers move to the middle in AOD. It makes the bezels look huge. Looks so ugly.I’m pretty sure they’re referring to how unreadable the AOD version of this face is. The numbers get so skinny that you cannot read them.

I used to think that too (and definitely pushed that theory in the Hermes thread). However I have noticed that, in watchOS 8, the Meridian and California faces no longer shrink down in AOD mode. The complications still shrink but the dial remains the same size and just dims like the Hermes faces. So it seems to be somewhat arbitrary as why some faces shrink and others don’t.How so? I thought the consensus was that this was some sort of OLED burn-in prevention feature (and conversely also the reason why the non-shrinking Hermès faces are noticeably dimmer than the others).

Yeah as far as I know those are the only 2 non-Hermes faces that don’t shrink. California does not shrink in both full-screen and circular appearance, which is nice. Both are definitely brighter than the Hermes faces in AOD mode too.Interesting! As I use neither Meridian nor California, I didn‘t notice that.
Full disclosure: I really hate both the shrinking of the „regular“ watch faces as well as the dimness of the Hermès ones. Both of these „design decisions“ (if there is nothing else technical to it) should be revised ASAP.
I completely agree that the dimness of the Hermes faces is approaching the point of being a dealbreaker. That Apple has started offering faces that don’t shrink down only confirms that there is no need for the Hermes faces to be so dim. California is vastly more legible than Circulaire in AOD. It’s not even close. But Circulaire is so good looking…
Ah, gotcha. Seeing the numbers isn't an issue at all for me. To each their own.I’m pretty sure they’re referring to how unreadable the AOD version of this face is. The numbers get so skinny that you cannot read them.
