I'll be very happy to get Siri on OS X, but yikes, that icon is not great. It's simply not 'iconic', it's like they just took a screen capture of the Siri waves and called it a day.
You do realize this is just a rumor correct like every other mockup out there of the latest iPhones. Since the new OS X hasn't even been announced or released in beta, why in the world would they focus on designing icons until they get to that stage? And if then the icons typically change greatly until eventually released to the public. Take a breathe =)

Shouldn't we have had Siri on Macs a long time ago? Well better late than never. Now we can hear Siri's terrible jokes on our Macs too!

No. It wasn't ready. It was in beta for years and should still be considered a work in progress (but then, one could say the same of most software in a sense).

I hope this isn't the flagship announcement. I would prefer to see more productivity features and a few key tweaks like making tags easier to use, or making tags work better with iOS, or being able to create a heirarchy of tags to make them usable. In fact, there is a lot about finder that I would change. Safari needs better sharing options, extensions and to work better with other apps.

Another thing to deactivate. Why are all of Apple's icons going circular? Is this what is to be expected on the iPhone and Apple TV soon?
Same, I'm curious why OS X is getting a lot of circular icons. watchOS also uses circular icons. I'm not understanding why iOS uses square icons when fingers are circular lol

So Google announced their Amazon Echo competitor called Google Assistant at I/O today. According to Twitter it sounds a lot like the Viv demo from the former Siri guys. Interesting though that this isn't coming from Tony Fadell and Nest team. Seems to me Nest could easily be folded into Google rather than a separate Alphabet company.

I wonder if Apple will be showing off something similar at WWDC? Just Siri on the Mac without any improvements is pretty meh.

Available on new/upcoming Mac's only if assume? No big deal for me, my late '12 rMBP needs replaced but still, I could see a lot of people raging over that, especially here.

Happy to see this! Now that Siri is everywhere, hoping they really put some resources into improving the service. The competition has zoomed passed.

Also, wondering if we'll see a brand new MacOS device (MBPs or other?) that takes even better advantage of Siri!

Edit: And then you watch Google I/O (live now) and get sad. Sure, Google's services are available on Apple hardware but it'll never be as tightly integrated.

I think Tim Cook has something to do with that, but I'll just leave my comments here and not say any more.

That doesn't sound insecure at all.

LOL! That was funny! Good one!

On a siri'ous note... I'm thinking this is really good. Maybe Apple has final rolled in some significant updates to Siri and she'll be up to snuff on the competition. I use her often and although sometimes it is frustrating, most of the time, it works fine. Siri just needs to get a bit smarter.

Pardon my lack of excitement, but I barley use Cortana on Windows, and most likely won't use Siri much on OSX neither.

OSX needs not just Siri but full Homekit integration to where you can set your triggers and scene through it and it sends the necessary sync messages to all devices instead of requiring you to have an iDevice always online or an apple tv. It would also be really nice to be able to run any iOS apps from within an OSX window.
