The so-called "journalist" arguing for porn is doing it because I saw what his girlfriend looks like. Go to twitter and you can see for yourself. He needs porn.
I don`t know whether its a blessing or curse for those people working at Apple who have to review every single Porn Apps if it were ever to make it to the App store. 
I say if you want to watch porn, use Safari....please leave those porn apps out of the APP store. Another way to get porn is to jailbreak your Apple device so please stop dissing SJ on his "Freedom Speech".....you still have the freedom with Safari and Jailbreaking or you can go buy yourself an Android.

If you want porn open up safari, firefox, chrome, or opera...
Apple is under no obligation to supply that to you in a dedicated app, (third party or otherwise...)

I think Steve has grown from a hippie into a mature person. He's a capitalist and understands what he's doing. Probably watches Fox News, too. Now if he'd just dump that moron Gore from the board.
Steve Job's whole "freedom of porn" talk is just an excuse to keep the App Store monopoly.
I can understand that Apple doesn't want to have porn in their own App Store, but they definitely should allow other App Stores on the iPhone.
I've seen various (partially) explicit apps on the App Store, mostly topless girls (on a side note, I've seen no explicit app on Cydia). So breasts are OK, but vaginas and penises aren't? People making love is verboten but the many gun apps are OK? Where's the logic in that?! Just enable parent controls that allow for each app to require a password in order to open it and be done with it. That way, you can hand your iPhone to kids without the fear of having them stumble upon porn.

Do you think they opened the Android Market for everyone, without approval process, because they ARE SOOOO DAMN NICE PEOPLE .... INCLUDED FLASH with the next Android revision? C'mon...
They also must have thought about quality control, malware and that sort of things you potentially have to deal with, but they decided "not to care"... which makes them look "good" in people's eyes who complain about apple's strategy in the appstore-flash debate.....

Obviously, Fox caters more to my view than the rest of the media does, much of which is in the tank for the corrupt administration. And no, I can't say that I'm a Rush fan or a dittohead, since I don't listen to the radio or his show, though I do probably agree with a lot of his views.
SJ wins. He led Apple from near bankruptcy to earning more than $3 billion in profit every quarter in just 10 years. He started the revolution of MP3 players and made the Mac popular again. He did it again with the iPhone and now the iPad. What has Ryan Hate done? Nothing except be a bitter idiot ranting his worthless self to the world's most famous/brilliant CEO. I use my iphone every time I work in the hotel. I'm a concierge on south beach. And it is the most incredible piece of tech I've ever owned. The build, the software and the ease of use is legendary. No other manufacture is doing it like Apple.
Sony can't touch Apple. Look at the ipod touch. It can surf the net like a beast! The psp has the most disgusting browser I've ever seen!!! And sony hasn't done a fu***** about it.
If Apple wasn't around the tech industry wouldn't be doing a fraction, if anything, of what Apple is doing. They don't care. All they do care about is littering the tech scene with garbage!!!!

I didn't say that Google is doing any better. I'm saying Apple's abusing people's honest will to keep their kids away from porn to keep the App Store monopoly.

Your freedom of choice is whether to buy the Apple product or not, not to have access to whatever content you want on THEIR device. While a valid argument, nobody wins in all reality, Jobs will remain stubborn and vengeful with regards to Adobe and continue to promote the whole closed platform and Tate will remain stubborn and vengeful about the whole iPhone 4g fiasco he's involved with. There is no winner in this argument other than the website hosting the gossip.
I do have to admit though it seems old habits die hard and after seeing some success Jobs seems up to his old tricks again that killed the company in the first place. This Blogger sound like an idiot who on a drunken Friday night decides to whip off an email to Steve showing how smart he is. As far as I'm concerned he lost his credibility when he sprinkles his comments with profanity. That's always a sign of a professional journalist or drunken idiots and I'm surprised if it was in fact Steve Jobs writing back to him that SJ would waste his time engaging in conversation with an obvious wind bag who's only claim to fame will now be his Steve Job emails.

How is it Apple thinking for me? Did I get a free iPad issued by the government or Apple? Did Obama pass a law forcing me to only buy computer applications from the App store? I did make a choice. I made a choice to buy an Apple product that is well documented to not allow these apps. I also have an Xbox 360 that doesn't allow these types of apps. I also have a PC that does allow those apps.
Why do people feel entitled that a computer company must only sell computers. If you want a computer from Apple, buy a MacBook. If you want an iPad and are ok with the limitations, CHOOSE an iPad. No one is forcing you to want one or use one.

Me too. I think Apple has every right to keep porn applications out of "their" store. If you want porn, use your browser. It's their store and their eco system, you don't have to play in it.
Exactly. Apple wants to sell hardware. If you don't like the way Apple has marketed or packaged its products, buy different hardware. Seems simple enough.

Freedom to have porn apps really? I mean comon what do expect them to do. Gaming is becoming a huge selling point for iPod touches and iPhones. Alot of these gamers especially on the iPod touch demographic are kids. So why would apple put porn apps on the iPhone and risk alienating alot parents from purchasing in to the necessary platform for the apps ecosystem.
As for the people who want porn there's tons of xxx sites that have customized their interface and video codecs to fit the iPhone.
Gawker knows they are in trouble and are trying to demonize apple for their RIGHT to manage their software ecosystem.
