This is most likely the first sketchy rumor that we have heard about how Apple may introduce iPhone 14 Mini.

It’s too bad it’s just a Sketchy rumor. I know for a fact if iPhone 14 Mini was introduced it would have been appreciated by so many people.
Yeah but think about it. If Apple releases an iPhone 14 mini, what would it differentiate from the 13 mini? 6GB of RAM instead of 4, that’s it. For all we know, the iPhone 14 is going to use the A15 SoC and will retain mostly the same design. It doesn’t make much sense to have a 14 mini this year, unless the regular 14 has any special feature. As far as we know, the Always On Display is a Pro exclusive feature, so…

I think the issue with the battery capacity is incapable to upkeep with the new SoC. My 12 Mini here battery is short life already compare to phablet phones.

I want a iPhone mini with usb-c
Given the iPhone Mini seems to be the lowest selling iPhone, but still fills an important part of the lineup size-wise with steady, albeit modest demand, it makes the most sense for Apple to move the iPhone Mini to a 2 year update cycle. So hopefully there will be a 2023 iPhone Mini with USB-C when the rest of the lineup switches to USB-C too.

Agree. There is definitely an audience for the mini. Just not one large enough for Apple to justify continued development and production. Apparently. Which is too bad, for that audience. But it seems clear they feel more wallets will open for a large screen, non-Pro iPhone than did for the iPhone mini. And I think they’re right. The 14 Max could be the most popular option this cycle. We shall see.

Also Apple supposedly needs something like an SE or a mini to fill a lower price bracket, to justify the higher prices of the regular and pros.

At this point, I'll just wait impatiently for the Septetmber Event instead of making conclusions based on these rumors. Blass has some credibility and Kuo is not always correct with his leaks.

If they do have a new 14 mini this year, then I will happily give them my money and get it by launch day. If not, then oh well. It's not in the end of the world but I won't give them my money and I'll keep my 12 mini for a long while.

Until recently I would have said the same. But... I charge my iPhone 13 mini overnight using MagSafe. At present I do use a cable to charge whilst in-car, but my next car will have an inbuilt wireless charging pad. So I can see a time in the not-too-distance future where I won't personally be using any cable with my iPhone.

Wouldn’t surprise me to be honest, the “leakers” and “analysts” have not got much right in the last 3 years,
Kuo included. Fact.

The idea of this makes me oddly happy.

iPhone 13 Mini was my favorite of all the iPhones in the previous generation.

Maybe Apple is realizing that despite not being a blockbuster hit it’s still a technological marvel.

Unlikely, but I know more people that own iPhone 13 Mini than even the standard iPhone 13.
