iOS 9 looked amazingI agree. Apple already tried the heavily frosted glass look in iOS 9 and it didn’t look all that great. I much prefer the more solid/contrasty looking UI elements (with only a touch of translucency) that we currently have.

Medium grey letters on a medium grey text widget on a medium grey background. Now that's courage.
I must be an outlier. But when I use my phone I don’t look for character or flair. I just want it to do whatever it needs to do for meCould be a step in the right direction. Having any design language is better than whatever they call the current state of iOS; bland and meaningless. It's so void of any character or flair.
Look back at days before iOS 7 — while some things look a little goofy, they had style. Each app was its own world, and the presence of colors and shapes and textures made things more immersive and more intuitive. Make software fun again.
I want to lick my damn UI again
Brings back memories of using Kid Pix on OS X Puma in 1st grade. And we used Apple Works too.
yes! aqua ui is still one of the best UI ever created.
This is simplicity. It’s the best dialer screen Apple ever made…View attachment 2347858
I mean, let's really stop and take a look a the basic phone app. Does it seem like the pinnacle of innovation and design? It feels like Apple has been taking the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it approach" but for a company that always touts words such as "innovative" and "revolutionary", and with some iPhones costing over $1000, they are capable of so much more...
You just picked some of my favorite iOS interfaces haha. I loved that Podcasts UI. iOS 6/OS X 10.8 was a golden age for beautiful software. As long as they don’t go back to this:
this was like a dream. look at those UI elements, overlayed save dialog, smooothly magnifying dock icons.. I mean it was like UI heaven back then. I couldn't effort to buy a mac and all theming software was copying it like windowblinds, winamp skins, anything. this and then snow leopard with graphite(?) option felt me best ever about using a system with staring it interface like in love with it.
I’m glad you liked it and it certainly was pretty, but I felt like Apple went a little to far with the opacity of the frosted glass effect. iOS 10 and later felt better structured imo.iOS 9 looked amazing
invisibleOS. If you need to know what's going on, you're doing it wrong.Medium grey letters on a medium grey text widget on a medium grey background. Now that's courage.
That’s not blurred enough!
I'm ready to move past these minimalistic Zzzzzz interface decisions.... "A gorgeous new Journal app...".... Pfffff.
We need Scott Forstall.
Dude took one for the team after the maps fiasco, and now his interface contributions are sorely missed.
