Finder = FAIL Quicktime = FAIL still. even features that did exist have been removed.
i'm starting to really hate apple for not allowing options for how you want to tweak your user experience.

Wow such hate over a Beta OS. Do you normally throw tantrums like this?

Every time you say something stupid God kills a kitten - why do you hate kittens so much?

I can't believe nobody else has clicked the menu bar at the top of the screen yet. The highlight is now purple instead of blue (blue remains for list highlighting etc). Kinda matches the brighter purple of the new default background :)

Maybe they'll surprise us all and pull this one out of their hat (can only dream):

<snip>

Is this an actual theme, or just a mockup? It looks a lot nicer than the iLeopard theme I'm using.

Because Safari ADBLOCK do not work anymore with 10.6, and the dead Inputmanagers in Snow, you can use Glimmer Blocker.

Dead input managers? So Inquisitor no longer works? That's one utility I absolutely can't live without :(

You can't with 10.6.
Apple has removed support for InputManagers. :(

Menus extra also are no longer supported ..: That, is very bad.

Many programs we need, must be updated.

Menumeters for exemple ...

Yes. Menus. The ones in the status bars. Been working all along.

Hmm, iStat Menus doesn't work for me in the latest build (it hasn't worked in any build).

When I try and enable for example CPU or Network or anything in the System Preferences, I get this error: iStat menus could not load the cpu extra.

What have you done to make it work?

Thanks

Let's see - either you have an unofficial version of SL which you downloaded from a torrent site and you are hoping to leech a new operating system when it is officially released (an OS that would only cost you 29 dollars!!). In which case you are just being a cheapskate and admitting that you want to scam all the work that Apple's developers are doing for free...

Or...you are an official developer and have a legit copy of SL - in which case what are you doing posting on rumour sites and asking ridiculous questions here, instead of contacting Apple direct. After all that's what you paid for...

So which is it: are you a cheapskate or are you breaking your non-disclosure agreement?

Dude, leave the guy alone! No need for the "holier than though" speech... Macrumors breaks the NDA every time they make these posts outlining changes and new seeds...

I think it has more to do with having a 32bit intel version and a 64bit intel version. Especially since the snow leopard version of those apps aren't going to be back ported to leopard.

Duo Cores have nothing to do with Universal applications. They are still Intel based processors (albeit only 32bit). Universal programs have both Intel and PPC and are not reflective of 32bit or 64bit. The reason many programs still have Universal support is simply because it is under development...

I hope that they fix the issue with Apple Remote Desktop not working it's driving me nuts!
but I'm in Canada and the download is humming along! 6mins to go

If you have access to the developer builds of SL, then you can also get hold of the newest beta of ARD 3.3.
That works fine on SL.

very bad, indeed! that's a deal breaker for me, to be honest. i tried working without menu meters one day and i felt like i was missing an arm.

Are you serious or just BSing after yesterday's Safari's new Purple theme? If the former, pics please.

Still blue for me...

how do you find out if snow leopard is using the 64 bit kernel?

About This Mac -> More Info...

Select Software in the profiler and check the status of "64-bit Kernel and Extensions". I have yet to try enabling it yet on my 13" Unibody. I might try here in a bit (someone else already reported that it worked on their MB).

Edit: Just tried enabling 64 bit holding 6 and 4 at boot on my 13" Unibody MB (late 2008) and it's still not working in 402.

I don't expect to see the full transition like the black menu bar, black contextual menus, pale blue highlighting/scrollbars until 10.7 but I think it looks fantastic. Everything isn't going to be black. Safari, Mail and the like will still retain the gray just maybe a shade or two darker.

I think Quicktime looks great. It would not look as good with a gray title bar. The idea behind the title bar being black is that it does not get in the way and is as seamless as possible. The best color to do that is black.

Black frames accentuate the colors inside it. Think of iPhoto's edit view.
