Where are you guys ordering from? Apple.com? If you guys are getting that many issues I think that I will definitely go to my local Apple store or Best Buy and go buy it

A whole two days early? Really, when you order that close to release on a product that is expected to sell millions of copies, you can't really be mad at not getting it for a week or so. That's like lining up for a product that people have been in line waiting for days and you come 2 hours before release.
This is retarded. I pre-ordered mine right when SL became available on the Apple store for the first time, and I Still haven't received it. What's the point in pre-ordering? I Could have walked into any store on Friday and purchased it. Apple really screwed this up. Never pre-ordering anything from them again.
I ordered my copy with the Up-To-Date program and it shipped Friday, and said it was to be delivered September 1 but it arrived today! A happy surprise.
Same thing happened to me. Great thing is, if it came on Friday when I was told by 3 Apple employees that it would, I would have gotten it before I moved into college. It's suppose to come tomorrow, but I'm at school now so who knows when I'll actually be getting it.

Yep, I start back at uni this week, and I wanted to have it all installed before so I wouldn't have to waste time when I'm busy. I assumed it would come today (since, you know, it was supposed to come on Friday!), but turns out it's not coming today either. This really sucks. The only thing we got to do is pay apple 30$ pretty much a week early!!!!
I did the UTD thing. Shipped Friday, listed to arrive Wednesday 9/2, was in the mail today! Just a disk and brochure.
Of note it does say "Upgrade DVD" and lists itself as "part of a hardware bundlenot to be sold separately."

Yep, ordered mine from the Apple Online Store last Tuesday. Said 'ships by August 28' - Apple ever-so-slyly shipped it at 5 minutes to midnight on August 27 so technically they were telling the truth. Ended up getting it today along with the external HDD (in a separate parcel) that was shipped from Apple two days earlier, so it got held up somewhere along the line.

I'm in Montreal and it's being delivered by Purolator. Problem is, they don't show any tracking information. In the email Apple sent me, it says "tracking number : none".
I tried entering my postal code and such, but without a tracking number, Purolator refuses to say if I have a package waiting or not.
Yeah, you heard it. It's still not delivered. How scandalous is that? I pre-ordered it August 20 with the Up-To-Date program. It was shipped by Apple August 28 at the end of the afternoon and then sent to Purolator Canada with Standard Shipping.
Some people got it like August 27th and we're now September 7th and I still don't have it. I get that today is not a business day for Purolator, but why didn't they deliver it last week?
I won't use my brand new MacBook Pro for University that I received 2 weeks ago because of this. No matter what I do on it, it'll be erased in no time. I want to do a Clean Install and then install all my apps and games, then install Windows 7 + apps + games, then import my documents. I know it's not an argument to convince purolator to deliver it ASAP to me, but it's still quite shocking. I know people who didn't pre-order it and it's been a week that they have it now.
Is anyone else in my case? Because I'm suspecting Purolator has lost the package... I have to wait until Thursday and then I will call Apple if I haven't received it. Then it can take some more extra time to re-ship it and deliver it. Annoying...
If other people are in my case, fine, Purolator sucked this time, but at least I will know my package may not be lost after all.

Told him my situation about the UTD and that I haven't received it and now I'm getting the RETAIL version, no charge with a tracking number and everything.

Just called Apple, after being transfered 2 or 3 times to the right person I talked to someone in shipping. Very friendly and helpful. Probably the best customer service experience I've had. Told him my situation about the UTD and that I haven't received it and now I'm getting the RETAIL version, no charge with a tracking number and everything.

I still haven't got mine yet it shipped the 27th!! was sopposed to be delivered the 1st. Am on hold with Apple right now.
