So how dissapointed are you

most everything is going to be updated on the iphone anyway...All you get is 3G and GPS....GPS is nice but how many going to really look at this while walking down the street...I already have in my car....3G slightly faster

Not just 3G n GPS

Also count double battery life, still thinner, still 50% cheaper, available in lots more countries.

Also not to forget mobileme. I m so gonna get one. I have to say I really loved todays WWDC. Other than the wait I have no complaints.

Once again the Apple rumor community falls on its face. What happened to 32 Gigs? And the supposed Nano version?

It wasn't that far off with most of the rumors, apart from that and the thicker one, and the product (red), and the front facing camera, oh right...

GPS alone is worth the price tag. Look at those GPS console + live traffic FM transmitter and how much they cost...Imagine the possibilities with 3G and GPS. You can do ANYTHING!

Now those police trap websites is actually useful, users can update in real time and report in real time! Each ticket saved is the price of an iphone!

There are so many ways to justify the purchase of this new iphone...you'll never miss a bus, won't have to wait for taxi cab...watch live streaming TV...everything is possible now.

I don't think I will be buying this 3G iPhone. It only has 16gb, was looking forward to a 32 gb. Even if it was 399 or 499. I was all over it. No MMS, or video recording!! Seriously apple let me down. I should of stuck with my KRZR and bought an iPod touch.

MobileMe is the best thing to happen to the iPhone since it came out. You can bet people will be addicted once they try it.

But yeah, sure, no flash. Oh well.

i'm only disapointed about the release date, July 11th, i don't understand why they can't roll anything out on time? I just sold my phone for a good price, and now that the price points dropped i can't really go back on it cos i'll get less, i guess a month sans iphone is what i'm in for. I would have liked to see 32gb but i'm not disappointed with that.

What are the people that sold there old iPhone going to do now for a month? Use a pay as you go phone?

You can just put your SIM in any old GSM phone. Most people kept their old phones as backup in case something like happened (or they needed to send it in for repair).

Still no A2DP. What the hell. Nothing new for me today at all.

No new Bluetooth headphones, same lame camera, no new firmware for another month, and no specific date given on that, either.

Some people on here just amaze me.

If you are truly a fan of Apple as a company, today may go down as one of the biggest announcements in company history.

The most wanted phone on the market is now affordable for millions of more people.

Millions of more customers = Billions of more dollars for Apple.

Billions of more dollars for Apple = funding for even more cool gadgets and technology in the future.

But no, let's just sit here and cry cause Daddy Jobs didn't meet your impossible to satisfy expectations. If they had announced 32 GB, you'd still complain about the plastic back. If the back was still metal, you'd still complain about no Flash. If tomorrow they announce flash, you'll still complain about the video conferencing.

This is, from a business standpoint, an incredible turn of events for the iPhone and for Apple. I guess most people here are just a product of this "me-first" society and won't be satisfied unless Steve Jobs personally autographs and hand-delivers your 32 GB Video Conferencing, time travel-enabled iPhone for just $49!

Why can't we just for once focus on the positives instead of flooding the boards with this stuff. /sigh

I for one will be lined up July 11 to get one. And I imagine some of the people now crying just might be too.

I am not dissapointed at all, the only major issue standing between me and an iPhone was the price, no only if I can get them to let me buy it, if not then I am waiting another 11 months till I'm 18 (but by then there will be speculation of the next great iPhone). But if am dissapointed about anything, then it is the wait until mid-July.

I am very disappointed about the release date. July ?! WTF ! How can you expect to sell 10m iPhones without selling any for 2 months. Now I have to go another month without a phone and I actually hope Apple does not sell 10m iPhones due to this!

not very dissapointed at all considering I was origionally expecting most of these announcements. Apple ovbiously did not improve the hardware very much hopping that the 2.0 software will make up for it. I did not sell my origional expecting this exactly. After they improve their market share with a cheaper phone and third party apps, then they will improve the hardware drasticlly.

I feel bad for anyone who sold their phones expecting an immenent release.

No improved Camera.
Delayed firmware release
No release of iPhone 2.0 hardware until July 11th
Plastic ****ing back
No MMS
No flash
No front mounted camera for video chat
Still lacking basic sms functions such as forwarding

I've gone from really excited to terribly disappointed. I bet everybody continues to clap to Steve Jobs as he delivers blow after blow. They should all shout and tell him what a ****ing disappointment its been.

yea i guess gps and 3g are secondary to a flash. this post is the embodiment of what i hate about this forum sometimes.

'hold apple to a higher standard... blah blah blah'

how about the phone is the coolest phone ever, and now it's better, cooler, and cheaper.

I was really wishing for video chat. Oh well, time for a drink or 3!

Although I should wait for the 32 (or really a 64 to hold all of my stuff), I still have to get a new one. The current network is driving me over the edge and GPS would be a nice to have. Maybe I’ll get the cheap one, until the next one comes out. Maybe…

With all these new apps taking up precious space, a 8gb is going to be obsolete pretty quickly. They will probably get a mid year 32gb update.
EXACTLY, at that point I'll consider upgrading. They just want the 3G early adopter premium$ in their pockets at Apple. I'll keep my 16GB Metal Backed iPhone for now and my LOUD, Big screen Garmin GPS and have the same processor, screen rez. etc for the same software and games as the "new" phones....

You guys are missing the big picture here...The 3G was set in motion this time last year from apple....Video conferencing and such will be on the next great Iphone next year...Why not have you upgrade your phone every year??? This is the big picture More money for them

I also forgot to mention no dock either. C'mon Apple, don't be ridiculous. First you tell us the release day of July 11 now you jip us on the iPhone dock. Jesus !

Spoken like a true fan boy, but tbh regardless the iPhone 3G is a great product, and tbh a lot of the rumored features missing aren't major, in my opinion, a 32gb option would be nice, but I suspect if most people actually sorted their music library 8gb, let along 16gb would be more than enough, I've got over 100gb of music, but i can cut it down to about 6/7gb of stuff I'm actively listening to. People will always assume Apple will announce everything, but they have finally got a phone that the iPhone should have always been, and an increase in size will come in time.
