So trying to understand this is the mobile store going to be something where you can download the apps but still have to use the internet to access them?? Or are they going to be stored on the phone???

Biggest disapointment is lack of "hands-free" bluetooth.
(I'm talking about voice commands and dialing.)

So, by the time I can buy one in California .. I WON'T be able to USE it in my CAR!!!

Great job, Jobs.
What state did you say your company is headquarted in? :apple:

(Gee, maybe Steve will figure it out when HE gets a ticket.)

No disappointment here. I'll be buying one July 11th.

In the big picture, enterprise and mobileme are huge steps forward, and with so many developers getting on board, the third party software will soon be amazing.

If you know anything about cameras or photography-----A camera phone is a Joke period....It works in a sever pinch but would never be good enough for anything else...

Eh.
If they sold their old iPhone, at least they banked $$ and got to use the thing for free for a year (and maybe even made $$). Most thought theyd loose $$ by buying an iPhone. Unfortunately, they'll be out of having an iPhone for a month or more. It was a give and take.

I kept mine as a backup, lost $$, but have an iPhone for the next month. I just felt that the backup was more important than the $$. My $400.00 backup will be worthless after the new ones ship, but at least Ill have it when something bad happens to my new one. So once again, its a give and take.

There full iPhone apps.....apps like the ebay one will need the internet because ebay is based on the web, but the games won't need it

I'll probably end up buying one, but today was a bit underwhelming. No 32gb, no copy/paste, no sleek redesign. They could have at least given it the Touch's black bezel. 3G is the only compelling feature for me.

I'm not crazy about the black plastic back either, but then again, I have always felt that the current back was plastic anyhow. Phil Torrone thought so too. It blended into a fine black powder, along with the rest of the phone. The only obvious metal remaining was the chrome bezel.

I would have liked a 32GB version even if it cost a bit more. That's probably the major disappointment for me. I don't own an iPhone at the moment, so i don't know what other things could have been improved. But no MMS is also a big let down. Could that be included in a software update or is that a hardware thing?

not diasapointed at all... iphone for 200 bucks, available in Canada i have nothing to complain about, now i can get one for my whole family....

Don't forget the plastic back is for reception reasons. There's a reason even the higher end nokias aren't made of metal. It has severe interference issues with the cellular antennaes.

Overall this is impressive. The pricing is ridiculous! I think it's basically a de facto way to break into various areas (corporate, education, consumer, etc) because at that price employees and students are going to show up with their own and request access.

Sad face list:

No MMS
No Flash
No PUSH email (other than Y!)
No video camera (low on my list)

And finally!!!!! NO CUT AND PASTE - STUPID STUPID STUPID.....

With all these new apps taking up precious space, a 8gb is going to be obsolete pretty quickly. They will probably get a mid year 32gb update.

At this point, Apple can suck it.

This was a monumental disappointment. They knew that the entire world was waiting with bated breath for this to happen, and nothing happened. We just have to wait another month.

1) They'll be going almost two months without ANY iPhone sales.
2) Their stock is rapidly dropping. Already, it's down 7 dollars.

They're losing money like a sieve. This is ridiculous. I'm contemplating not even buying any version of the iPhone.

It's obvious that Apple survives only on the support of it's hardcore fanbase who swallow up everything that comes out of Jobs' mouth. Given their stock prices now, it looks like quite a few are jumping ship.

Serves them right. I hope Apple's stock tanks after this.

the thing with the APPS is that you dont NEED the new iphone in order to use them. So (aside from 3G and gps - which i dont understand WHY) the things people are excited about, like Video, IM, ect are ALL things that will also be available to current iphone owners.

Really, the hardware changes that would have made me want to change would be front mounted camera for video conferencings, MMS (i dont THINK that is strictly a software upgrade, i could be wrong) and faster internet speeds.. the new 3G iphone only has ONE of those options, and it is not nationwide yet because of the 3G coverage.

I do have a question.. the GPS function NEEDS 3G coverage to work, so if you are traveling, and you end up going to a place that has no 3G coverage, but you are relying on your iphone to get you from point A to point B, what are you going to do??

just one question....

DOES IT HAVE MOBILEME:confused::confused:

It`s OS and the user experience which has made iPhone so much popular. And from that point of view iPhone 2.0 firmware will blow away any sort of competition. Nothing currently on the market can make me switch from iPhone.

No, it'll have Google apps. Which is free.

Next point please.

No improved Camera.
Delayed firmware release
No release of iPhone 2.0 hardware until July 11th
Plastic ****ing back
No MMS
No flash
No front mounted camera for video chat
Still lacking basic sms functions such as forwarding

I've gone from really excited to terribly disappointed. I bet everybody continues to clap to Steve Jobs as he delivers blow after blow. They should all shout and tell him what a ****ing disappointment its been.

AMEN!!!!
Damn I was so stoked for today waiting to see it. What a ****ing dissapointment! Damn, come on Apple...you can do better than that. I hope Apple Stock tanks dude to this. LOL
I was wanting:
-32GB!!
-MMS
-A better design!!!
-Video Conferencing
-Slimmer....i know it would be hard but come on I see flash drives just as thin as an 8GB

This day had high hopes and it sh*t on us. Doom June 9th.
**Oh and another month!!!!
.

.
p.s. The price is GOOD. :) lol

i really really think that realeasing iphone in so many countries its going to boost up sales soooooooooo much they dont have to rely on the extremely small amount of us who want a 32 gb iphone...all of my friends with iphones can do with 8gb phoes heck im sure they would have been fine with 4gb ones,, iw nated a 32 as well dont get me wrong i just dont see it affecting sales at all... plus we all know the 32s are goign toc ome out at 16gb price as soons as they make their million of 8gb and 16gb start to sell out...

Pros:
GPS
Price
Cons
Everything Else
No MMS
NO video support at all, let alone front camera
NO 32 GIG MEMORY WTF!!!! THAT IS THE ONLY FEATURE I ACTUALLY WANTED.
The 2.0 software leaves much to be desired. Seriously, still not copy/paste?

I can do everything software wise already by jailbreaking it, so I am really disappointed by the info.

Oh One thing. Don't complain about the plastic back. I know it sounds cheap, but it will not scratch, and more importantly it will allow much better signal for cell phone use. Aluminum creates interference.

I wont be buying....

Think back to the original iphone release. One of the selling points was an all in one device. "A phone, An Ipod, A web device" or whatever Jobs called it over and over last year. I cant take my music and podcasts along with me at 16GB so its not all in one.

No 32 GB --- The biggest draw for me. I would have paid the rumored price of $699.00 for this.

No Video:mad:

No Upgraded Camera w/flash:mad:

No Flash support.

You got 3G, which is nice and GPS that you wont use very much if you have a regular auto GPS.

Oh, and they made it plastic....WTF?:confused:

Anyone know if they'll slash prices on the current 8gb and 16gb phones to clear stores stock?
