Sweet. I can't wait to try this on my iPod Touch! There is a "source" for that somewhere too...;)

Battery life improved? Any lag now, in general?

just fully charged but boy...the firmware is so much faster its crazy...open and min quick like nothing!

texting is fast...landscape is great! its just crazy how fast it is

i just updated mine without a dev account but i'm waiting on it to restore my backup and then i'm gonna have to wait for it to put all my media back onto it so it will be awhile before i get to play around with it.

To the OP: I'd like to know what's changed in Google Maps. Anything other than the map rotation on the 3GS?

There's still a slight lag when sliding over to the Spotlight search area once and awhile.

I've got a feeling that won't be happening with the 3G S.

mines pretty quick with no lag at all...

but maybe that's due to me doing a complete wipe. i always go into DFU mode and manually wipe and never restore from backup...i always setup as a new iphone too

On my "source", it says this Apple warning “By installing iPhone OS 3.0 GM Seed on Authorized Test Devices, these will be “locked” into testing mode and cannot be restored. You Must know that before installing the software.”
Download iPhone OS 3.0 GM 7A341 today here you go:
Warning: Use at your own Risk.
Is this true:confused:

I think what is going on here is that when those of us entered into the beta program there was a distinct notification that if 3.x was installed the phone could not be rolled back into 2.x ever. Then eventually it became a requirement that iTunes 8.2 be used in conjunction with installation on all builds after a point.

So, yes, this is not yet the 'released' version yet (hence the warning) and by installing 3GM you're stuck. You can't roll backwards into any 2 version.

I'm using it as well. Really happy with it. Everything seems to be working just like it should, except Visual Voicemail. Fortunately, the phone is the app I use the least.

The Safari improvements are surprising. Not just 'feels snappier', it actually is. :D

Voicemail works, just have to wait until you get a new one.

damn I can't install fake apn and it looks like apple removed the cellular network connection menu so you can't turn off data. Any one know how to turn off data on 3.0?

Text entry has improved so much that it is as fast as a hardware keyboard. Screen rotation could be smoother and faster still.

All apps work but some like Skype need updating.

unfortunately...due to the fact that you may not be an actual developer...your device may NOT work at all when upgrading to the final 3.0 release. And the GM release WILL expire when the final comes out...good luck with that.

this is coming from the NEW agreement all developers had to sign when downloading the new 3.0 gm.....hope they dont brick your devices!

it will not brick your divice. not permanently at least. maybe till you update to the official 3.0. why would u even think apple would do that lol.

I've installed 3.0 too, so far so good.

but

Why I don't have Push Notification settings? (I know where it's supposed to be)

You're extremely misinformed.

The agreement states that you can't downgrade back to any 2.x firmware. And why would you want/need to do that in the first place?

People are installing this firmware without developer accounts, registrations, etc., and it's working fine.

This is the same firmware that the public will be getting next week.

No need for erroneous posts like this trying to scare people.

The warning from Apple is not about upgrading. The warning is you can't go back and downgrade.
