So, I got 3.0 Gold Master - First impressions.

damn I can't install fake apn and it looks like apple removed the cellular network connection menu so you can't turn off data. Any one know how to turn off data on 3.0?

So If I put the GM version on my 3G i shouldnt have a problem when the final release comes out next week? I just put it on my 1G Touch. I hardly use that anymore so I figured why not put it on just to test it out. So i was just wondering if I put the GM version on if it would conflict with anything next wednesday, or should it just be as simple as clicking update in iTunes?

I can't see any reason it would affect anything. I updated mine and my phone still appears in itunes and syncs with my computer just fine. If the build is different, it will read it as an update and update just as normal as far as I know.

you shouldn't even have to update it next wednesday unless they come out with a newer one (which they shouldn't). this is the version that is being released on wednesday.

Thats what I was thinking but I just wanted to make sure before. Because I mean its suppose to be 9.95 for the Touch, but that means im getting it for free, so I was wondering if something else might be a little bit different next week. But so if there is something different I'd just have to click update?

i believe so. i'm on an iPod Touch too so hopefully they don't make us pay next wednesday.
 
Why isnt the camera icon in messages there? I know there isnt MMS yet but shouldnt it still be there?

Okay just making sure it wasnt me cause I thought that was really strange. Maybe its not even apart of the GM? Maybe that will be out on the 17th. Who knows. I've also noticed that the Push on/Off switch in settings is gone.


EDIT: Nevermind the push/fetch is now in the mail settings
 
All you guys installing the 3.0 GM that you got "off the net", you'd better see if that "warning" is actually valid. I think it says your phone will be locked in test mode, so someone ought to see if that can be reversed (ie. can you do a restore?)

Interesting... I never got this when I installed 3.0. No warnings of "Test Mode" at all.

Quick question... has anyone tried receiving an MMS? What happens?

(Note: I know that MMS isn't available to AT&T folks, just curious).

Interesting... iTouch 2G has the voice memos application cause if you have a headset with a mic it works. I didnt know that was going to be included for the touch
