One word "AirPower". They even had pictures of it on their site.

Yeah, but AirPower is a product they actually announced, put pictures of on their products, and even gave a rough date for its release, and then it didn't happen. That makes it vaporware. Unlike the 16" which has never been officially announced. But it is a bit weird to have this many rumors about it and still no sign of it coming out any time soon.

You guys... cmon now.
It takes time to screw up a scissor switch keyboard through unnecessary “innovation”
Lord if that rumour turns out to be true as well 🤯 I guess at least give them that its probably the right thing not to launch it if so... but they've got the wonderful Magic KB they could have used which is perfectly functional and offers a pleasurable typing experience, with masses of real-world testing from everyone who has bought and is happily using one 😒

It’s amazing, and honestly a little bit embarrassing, how the most valuable company in the world (at any given time these days) seemingly can’t deliver anything in a timely fashion.

Right now they are busy pushing out iOS updates constantly to try to fix the multitasking that they broke. Just staying at the table stakes level is apparently a challenge for Apple now
Well if you follow what has been happening at Apple in just the last few years, they've seen a mass exodus of senior management that were previously responsible for maintaining Apple's extremely high standards. Those people have been replaced with diversity hires. As it turns out, you can't just hire anyone and plug them into a important position and have it just work out.

10th gen or 10nm? a 10th gen (14nm) i9 is likely to bring very little new to the table, but a 10nm i9 isn't likely for well over a year yet (if at all, as there was the rumour Intel is trying to rush to 7nm).
10th gen 14nm i9, just like 10th gen i7 6-core that is currently shipping. Since Intel hasn't talked about such processor, it's more of a wishful thinking on my part.

I don't believe that rumour for a second. The learned oracles were caught out badly and had to invent some story as to why their predictions did not come true. Are we supposed to believe they have a invnetory of these things ready for the shops and suddenly Apple decided no there is a problem? With the keyboard? Has that ever stopped Apple before? Not that I can see....

I almost feel like Apple went through this latent "Tim Cook transition phase" where the Mac and Pro markets suffered. Around this time the Apple HQ was being built and employees were getting shuffled around to different departments.

This was also around the time I built two hackintoshes and bought a couple PCs as a result of my vote of no confidence.

Being a huge Apple critic (previously a huge fan), I can say however I think they're starting to get their act together. I ditched my hackintoshes and bought a refurbed 2015 MBP. I was not interested in anything with a butterfly keyboard.

However, I have to replace one of my MBPs through insurance and am trying to stall its replacement. I'm hoping the 16" will come out with the scissor keyboard.

Par for the course these days, too busy milking the margins, working out what else they can slap "Pro" on to hump the price and polishing the excuses "why it just can't"...

Apple should have redesigned the MBP several years back as opposed to forcing garbage on it's customers, equally that would interfere with making money with a disposable product. It's embarrassing at best...

Who needs a keyboard? You can select all the new emojis with the touch bar.

Good to know I'm not the only one who couldn't care less about emojis.

Does anyone knows if anything was shown yesterday in the FCP?

Apple stuff starts today at 1:00 PM.

oh, ok, ’m was wrong. Thanks!

Yeah, today is really the last day to hope for a 16" MBP announcement.

Someone is claiming to have "inside information" in another thread that it will be announced today.

I am not sure whether to believe it or not.

May or may not be released today but I dont' belief someone has insider info on here 🤣

Probably not worth the risk of breeching whatever NDA agreement they had to sign to get the job

Correct. However, an Apple employee either comes here under an alias or tells a friend who comes here and blurts it.

Any Tom, Dick or Harry can come on here and say they have inside info. on an imminent release of the 16" MBP

I would hope that person does indeed have the "inside" information they claim to have and that it came from an Apple Store employee

I'm sure its par for the course to sign and NDa for any of these events in case the curtain drops down and you accidentally see next years products or Tim Cook speaking into a special effects machine Wizard of Oz style. See now if Wizard of Oz had made them sign and NDA he woudl have been grand.

Yeah there seem to be no live tweets happening so whatever they are being shown they are not allowed talk about it. I guess with is what NDAs were about
