currently at 22% with 10 hours and 4 mins usage, 23 hours and 26 mins standby.

So far so good, a little better than Beta 5. My usage consists of wifi streaming music, browsing, texting.

Here's my usage on my iPhone 4S. NO music playback at all. Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and iMessaging. Wifi on and 3G off. So far this is much better than what I used to get

The days when you basically just don't use your phone?

That is probably one of the least accurate/useful ways of measuring battery life.
It's a pretty accurate snapshot, IMO. With 7.1 the time between each percentage point is less than with 7.0 - 7.0.6. At 75% I'd have about 6hrs of usage, now I have about 3.5/4 - if that. With my iPhone I would get about 2hrs between 100% and 80%. Now I get 40 - 60 mins.

Battery usage is not linear and is especially less so and less accurate when looked at smaller intervals and even more so when close to the battery being at capacity or almost empty.

I have no clue how this comes. For the betas it was all normal. Now I was just using SMS, whatsapp and safari.

After charging it for a minute, the percentage went from 2% to 30%?!?
Wow !

That's not normal battery behaviour, that's the sign of a faulty or highly Uncalibrated battery.

According to these guys the answer in general is no.

Especially for me because I'm on an iPad Mini 1st generation. Not going to be updating at this time.

Charged my IP5S after installing 7.1 yesterday morning. Current stats in the image would suggest that battery life is the same as it was, or perhaps a little improved....certainly no worse.

So the iPhone 5 still gets a shocking battery life. What happened to the 10 hours of WiFi browsing? I used to get over 9 hours with iOS6, so 6.85 is absolutely lousy. I bet this is with cellular switched off too! My 9 hours on iOS6 was with cellular switched on the whole time.

Surely the new o/s should match the old one when it comes to battery life?? It is one of THE most important things on a battery powered device. This is terrible Apple.

About this same as the 7.0.x releases on my iOS devices. MAYBE a little better but it's to early for me to say that with any confidence.

I know I'm having battery issues on my iPhone 4 because all of a sudden some apps (such as Foursquare) leave Location Services on *all the time* where previously, they only accessed Location Services when the app was open :\ . A hard reboot & a reinstall of the app didn't fix the problem; I have to manually disable location services in the Privacy Settings tab.

I *should* have my replacement phone (I broke down and bought the iPhone 5s a few days ago, after my increasingly-going-slower-and-slower iPhone 4 suddenly shut off on me (with 88% battery life) and took >15 minutes to turn back on & reload, so I'll have to see if it's just an iPhone 4 problem, or if it's an App/OS problem.

Spending an hour browsing and playing games I got great battery life. If I continued to do the same I would not know know it would be anything different. Maybe I am in for a rude awakening, you will see.

Brightness is at 40% and I have done most of the recommendations always mentioned to get good battery life. Have you folks done that? :)

i 'm using 7.1 ...

believe me , its dam drain battery ...

do not update if you not interesting ........

Mine has gotten significantly worse since the upgrade on my 5s, however for my friend on his 5, his battery life shot way up.

Mine was terrible today, too! Usage shows 2 hours and 33 minutes and my battery is down to 25%.

I had to go to turn background add refresh off on instagram. It was keeping the location services indicator on. Hoping that's all it was.

Well, now my 5s jumped from 25% to 14% while I was watching it! Forgot my charger, guess I'll be going the rest of the day with no phone at work....

I turned off battery percentage many weeks ago, so 7.1 seems the same as 7.0 and 7.06, etc. My battery lasts through the day and I charge it at night. I haven't had the need to check my usage and battery percentage multiple times daily. I am telling you, turning off the percentage makes all the battery problems go away.

Not for those who actually do have some battery issues for some reason, and there are certainly some like that. Plus it gets hard to know how much power you really have once you are below 10% or even 20% when you might really need that extra minute or two and not even realize you don't have it.

after using 1 day
i have been following battery every movement

wifi take 3-4 minute drain 1% ( good )
lte take 2-3 minute drain 1% ( not good )

so , 7.1 is improve battery on wifi not Lte

This. QFT

6 hours usage, 50% left. Mostly browsing, listened to music, watched Netflix for 1/2 hour and the rest was gaming.

Followup. Spent an additional hour just playing games on my Air since my post above and it only dropped another 5%. Hog heaven if you asked me! :)

No I used my phone just the same back then, as I do now. How is 10 hours of usage not using my phone?
