So is there any walk-in stock at the Apple stores...?

I reserved my 40mm SS this morning in the app. When I was there to pick it up, I asked if they had the 40mm SS gold, even though online it shows they don’t. They did have it available!
In the end, I landed on silver SS, so there is/was a gold 40mm SS at the Michigan Ave Chicago store.
So, none of my Apple stores within 250 miles show the stainless 44mm in stock on the app. However, I went to my local Apple Store and was able to reserve it for pickup later today. Only issue is that walk-in purchases result in either a scheduled pickup or a 1-2 hour wait in line!
Kind of interesting though how it's not showing in stock online even though there is stock for walk-ins.

I just checked my local apple store and it’s in stock so just ordered now on my way to pick it up! Woohoo
I decided to return my 40mm Aluminum and treat myself to what I *really* wanted—44mm Gold SS. Was perusing on Apple’s site yesterday, found one available for pickup at the Sac store, and went for it. So much happier with this one! Store was super packed but I only stood in line for about 10 minutes.
Very doubtful. The best "hype" for Apple would be to get a new watch on the wrist of as many people as possible, as fast as possible. That's how you get people talking about Apple Watch to their friends and family. Showing "out of stock" when you have stock is a terrible way to make that happen.
People pre ordered. If in stock and pre orders are a week away people will cancel and walk in.
I don’t know. It is what’s happening. Maybe not creating hype but apple maybe doing it to prevent mess cancellation and chaos.
Today it seemed that they didn't get any SS in stock here in NY. They might not get on Sunday due to no deliveries, but not 100% sure.
Anybody know if they have stock avalible that isn’t listed in the app? I’d go and find out, but my nearest store is an hour away.
I don't know what the threshold is but the store reserves a certain number of each model for walk-ins before they show in stock online. They may have some, they may not if it doesn't show available online - a gamble if one just wants to walk in and try.
One of my local stores actually showed the SS 44MM for pickup on Saturday and then in about 30 minutes it was no longer an option. I also saw the Gold SS44 as well at two locations but both are now no longer available for pickup. Hopefully this week they'll get more orders for pickup.

Employee told me that most of the time when they receive inventory, it will show up available on the app/website because they are receiving in a case of that model. He said they receive shipments throughout the day and larger shipments will arrive in the middle of the week.
Anyone know if you can get the AT&T financing at the Apple store, or do you have to buy directly from AT&T to do that?
You have to do it through AT&T, you can double check by when you check Apple's website there is no AT&T financing option
Ive been keeping an eye out for silver aluminum with the seashell loop and only see a couple stores in the US with any otherwise shipping is almost to november. I grabbed the SG with the sport loop originally but Ive had this color since series 1 and am tired of it now plus im not a fan of the multi color "black" band on this. I picked up a silver aluminum with the white sport band for now and hate the white rubber band on this one, really would like to get the seashell band.
