So... No white iPhone 4?

I have a feeling Apple is keeping the white iPhone announcement as their Ace in the hole. When a worthwhile Android competitor comes out, Apple will step up to steal/deflect the spot light.
That being said, the white will be available between October and black Friday. Count on it.

If both had been available on launch, I probably would have had a look at the white iPhone and eventually still settled on the black.
I feel sorry for the people dedicated on getting the white iPhone, because the cheaper 2 year contracts are going to put them out of sync with the new releases...

I am moving to the states in october and am looking to get an iPhone 4 as is my fiance, she wants a black one, and i want a white one.... i convinced her the white one would be out before we move.... maybe not.....
At this point.......The white model will be availiable on the NEXT version.
Give it up. By the time this white version is availiable, (if at all) you'd be better off waiting the 2 months to get the new model.

Two months assumes that the white iPhone 4 won't be available until April or May 2011 if the 5th generation iPhonie is released in June. Although the release has been delayed twice, the most recent update that I am aware of from Apple is for a release later this year.
Not necessarily, there's probably a better than even chance of October/November purchases being granted eligibility by AT&T as for the iPhone4 (IIRC).
December is riskier and definitely not later. But I can't imagine Apple releasing it in 2011 anyway unless it were for Verizon. There's no other worthy scenario.
Would Apple really put the White iPhone photo on their iPhone page in the online store if they didn't have one in the works? It seems like they are still planning to roll out the white iPhone, albeit eventually. I was originally hearing things like "Apple is having trouble with the paint process in manufacturing and can't get the color right" but now it's been frieking over 3 months since rollout and still no White iPhone available, or any word for that matter as to its release, other than "Manufacturing the White iPhone has been more difficult than expected" from Natalie on the Apple Press release. That's all we've heard, and it's really disheartening. Apple could at least give us a timeframe rather than taunt people like this, heck, there are some who haven't even purchased an iPhone yet because they are STILL WAITING on the white one...thinking originally that it would have come out maybe one week or one month after the black one did. COME ON APPLE!

I have a white iPhone 3G... and wanted a white iPhone 4... but at this point, I decided it wasn't worth the wait.
IF Apple sticks to their normal June/July timeframe to release a new iPhone revision, then they'd start clearing out old inventory around April of next year... and I can't see a point in releasing a white iPhone in December that only gets a few months before it is ready to be clearanced.

Unlike some, I'm not going to hand over my money until I get what I want. I've held off this long while using my white 3gs and have no problem with it. If apple wants my money any time soon they are going to have to roll out the white one pretty quickly otherwise I will just skip the iPhone 4 and wait for the next version.
I see no reason to reward them by picking up a black model when they have jacked us around for several months now with the white one.
Had they given a new release date, and I felt that date to be too long, I would have likely purchased a black one. Their handling of this has been beyond annoying.

If Apple drags out their loyal customers, waiting for the white iPhone 4, and then never deliver on their promise, they will face a PR fiasco and will lose me as a customer. This secrecy represents an unnecessary risk to Apple's future success and directly undermines Apple's efforts to capture the business smart phone market.
It will be that the "manufacturing issues" were just recently sorted out and they released it as soon as they could.
Pure BS of course, but that is what they will say.
the time frame for how late the white i4 gets released will not affect apple one bit because the next gen iphone 5 will keep the iphone 4 housing guaranteed. If they really are taking this much time to perfect the white, it will benefit them in the long term because the next gen iphone will use it as well.
Why do websites like this all of a sudden give people 15 seconds of fame whenever they claim to have emailed Steve? Even if the email is "what's your favourite tea?" it ends up being top story on Macrumors or some other website for some reason.
I guess I'll keep waiting until the white iPhone comes out - then again, I don't have money for an iPhone 4 anyways!
