That makes sense. They probably never were available to begin with and the 9/19 was an error. Bet that's the case with all the other people who think they're getting a 6 Plus on the 19th.

I guess all we can do is wait and see. I've never pre-ordered before and my first experience hasn't been very pleasing. This is very stressful!

The Apple rep I spoke to on the phone this morning didn't think there would be any 6 Pluses at the stores for those who show up on the 19th. She said the supplies were extremely limited and that any stock they had is no longer available.

I wouldn't be surprised by that, to be honest. The 6+ did seem to slip very quickly.

getting my iPhone 6 Plus 64Gb on 9/19 delivered to my house :). tried non stop on the apple store app, and the apple website since midnight. the site didn't work all night(i slept at 3) and the apple store app on the iPhone my order finally worked and my phone was confirmed and purchased at 12:40am. Then ordered my girlfriends regular iPhone 6 gold 64gb at 1:30. People need to learn to only trust apple, and if they order elsewhere they are likely to get screwed. Same story every year.

100%.. Seems like every year when people place orders NOT through apple this happens. But that's okay with me. Saves some traffic on preorder day. It would be insane if everyone ordered only through one site. Does suck for business accounts and such that must order through a carrier.

While there might have been a handful of units in the stores I don't think very many people will get anywhere near a 6 Plus for a few more weeks. All that having been said, it is after all only a phone and not a matter of life and death if it's late. The aggravation of the process is really my beef. After all these years they still haven't figured out how to do these preorders right. As I recall last year there was also a major snafu and I ended up getting mine at the store. Howver this year I really don't expect much chance of finding any 6 Pluses at the store and while I might stop by just for the hell of it I don't expect to have anywhere near the luck I had last year. And while I know I could just walk in and get a 4.5 inch phone on launch day I also know I would not be satisfied knowing that there was one with a larger, easier to read screen that I could have gotten if I had waited a bit longer. Therefore I will gladly what the few extra weeks. Time moves really quickly for me since I have a circadian rhythm disorder which gives me a natural 46 hour cycle. I force myself into the 24 hour cycle with medication (melatonin) but the 24 hour days still feel abnormally short to me.

Nope. Mid- to Late-October. I pre-ordereda 6+ today in time to be part of the first batch shipped (ordered before 3:00 PM). My delivery date is 10/28, and the rep thought that would get pushed back to around Halloween. The regular 6 model is scheduled to ship this month, but most reps expect that to get pushed back as well.

I see you're in NJ, so I assume your time is in ET. If you didn't order until 3pm ET, then you are sadly mistaken that you would have been anywhere near the first shipment, unfortunately. I got my order in for the 6+ around 3:30 AM (not PM) and mine says it will be here on 9/19. My friend didn't order his until after 7am and he got bumped back to a 10/13 estimate. 3pm? I'm surprised you're not even later than 10/28, honestly.

Probably right. On the other hand any dates prior to October may in fact be in error. This thread probably doesn't serve any useful purpose now.
I'd quit it except that tapatalk keeps beeping me when there are new posts.

I got my order in at 9:00 AM this morning.

I'm calling anyone who is claiming to be getting a 6 Plus on the 19th a liar, and those 'screen shots' of their supposed orders don't prove anything since such things are easily faked.

LOL.

why would I lie about when I'm getting my 6+? It says the 19th. I'm too lazy to even post the screen shot, let alone photoshop a screen shot.

While it may be authentic there were so many snafus in the ordering system that the info you got could very well be in error, though understandably you hope it to be accurate.

Just got the same text. Think my order time was about 12:35am

I have read people getting the text i ordered shortly after that. Did you get another email

No other email was sent but I did just receive another text message from AT&T telling me the same thing

AT&T Free Msg: Congratulations! Your order has been processed. You will be notified when your order has shipped. <Replies are not monitored>

What are you going to do when I take a picture of my 6+ next Friday? Claim I'm photoshopping it?

This is a LIE... I just talked to a rep that guarantees if the confirmation email that you receive says delivery on 9/19 that you WILL have it that day. I ordered 3 6+ 64GB iPhones and they all say delivery on 9/19... He did say I was high up in the Q. and that orders from here on out won't ship till Oct... I don't know who these reps are that are claiming that absolutely no 6+ will be shipped till Oct... What they are meaning to say is that from here on out. NOT people who got their orders in early and by the grace of God fell high into their Q

I don't think 90% of these reps know what they are looking at on their screen in regards to these iPhone orders... I think Verizon has delegated some special screen just for these orders and that these reps don't know how to read them...

How do you know that the rep you spoke to isn't making **** up?

i understand and you are partially right. i will be extremely upset with at&t if anyone who didn't preorder gets it by just walking in on launch day if i have to wait. there is no way the units shipped to retail stores shouldn't be going to people who preordered it.

I have to disagree with you. That's the launch day weekend game. Some people wait in lines, for the fun of it, or because they want to pay cash, or whatever the reason and some people pre-order, mostly in the hopes of avoiding all the lines and waiting and not being sure if after all that they will get the color and storage (and now size) configuration that they want.

But Apple has historically set it up this way. You can pre-order or wait. If they filled all pre-orders first, then by next Friday there would be nothing left in the supply channels for any sort of launch day and the people who want to wait in line would cry about being forced to pre-order or wait. So they split it up, though I would have to think it is skewed towards the pre-orders. And the carriers do this to. It is good for foot traffic and publicity but there is also something logistically sound about getting stock out through pre-orders to mitigate some of that foot traffic and to deliver product to people who don't have Apple or carrier stores as easily accessible.

You can cancel your pre-order if you are dissatisfied with the wait and join the launch day crowds and try that route. But you can't have it both ways. If you don't cancel your pre-order you won't have eligibility on launch day.

I don't think this will be the case. Apple will undoubtedly have limited supply of the Plus on launch day. They would be foolish not to. I can't imagine they sold all Plus stock available at this point to pre-orders and to carriers and big box stores for their distribution.

Couldn't agree with you more.

So they aren't shipping iPhone plus at all this month?

Sounds like all the reps are contradicting each other. I don't think it's reasonable to say any is more reliable than the other.

I suppose anything is possible, especially in light of contradictory reports. I have to say I will stop by the store on the 19th, just as I did last year. Not camping out but just say an hour or so before opening as in the past. It did work out fine last year, and while in line they came around giving out free bottled water and soft drinks while in line. But there were better supplies then and no issues with availability as this year. I recall that last year I did not pre order at all for whatever reason. Here in the backwoods of Ohio the stores are not the mad scene they are in larger cities so maybe it will work out.

Probably right. If you got the order in early with the conformation email you should be ok for the 19th (if lucky - then the 18th)

Until proven otherwise, I will believe what my confirmation email says over what a few reps are saying. They don't call it a confirmation letter for nothing. They confirm your order, and confirm a delivery date. If they could not confirm a delivery date, it would not be in a confirmation email. There is no disclaimer on the email that says delivery date many change. Thus if it does change, it could void the contract.
